If youre not a pre-war fan, youre really missing out on some cool cars. This very sleek 1936 Chevrolet 2-door sedan is a very stylish product of the Art-Deco 1930s and offers plenty of interior room, a punchy V8 powerplant, and subtle paint thats as contemporary as it is traditional. There probably wont be many of these at the shows you go to, but you have to wonder why, because this is one great-looking car. The sleek, rounded bodywork is all OEM steel save for the fiberglass running boards and fenders with built-in headlights, and the clean shape is only enhanced by the low-key cream paint. Fit and finish are good for a car that was built to drive, with great gaps, a tight-fitting hood, and doors that close with confidence. And while a lot of the trim was shaved or painted to match the body, the most interesting parts remain, including the tall, narrow grille, high-mounted taillights, as well as the cool side vents on the hood that totally make the cars look. There are also neat custom bumpers front and rear which really nail the creativity behind the hot rod movement. There are details on this rod that are very innovative. The yellow finish makes you think soft and lethargic, but the gorgeous two-tone interior in this Chevy is anything but mellow. The neatly upholstered bucket seats look racy, almost as if they belong in a sports car, and theres a minimalist look that we like a lot. Simple gray carpets and black door panels with some artful sculpting make the car feel very upscale inside. A full set of custom VDO gauges reinforce the racy look. An AM/FM/CD stereo system has been cleanly built into the center of the dash, right below the controls for the A/C system. The tilt column and three-spoke wheel give it a very modern feel without losing the vintage look. In back youll find plenty of room for two passengers, maybe three in a pinch. Theres also a good-sized trunk thatll handle all your gear for a nice road trip. The engine is a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 thats dressed in lots of chrome and billet aluminum, from the finned air cleaner and valve covers to the block-hugging accessory drive. With four-bolt mains, its robust and its a very strong runner thanks to an upgraded cam, Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, HEI ignition, and a medium-rise intake manifold. It makes around 300 horsepower, which is plenty to make this car a lot of fun to drive, especially with a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission behind it. The front suspension is a Mustang II independent setup with tubular A-arms, rack-and-pinion steering, and disc brakes, while a Monte Carlo rear with disc brakes on the ends inside hangs on standard leaf springs. The exhaust is a full custom setup with both mufflers and resonators with polished tips and the stance is just about perfect. Torque Thrust wheels glitter against the soft yellow paint and are fitted with 205/75/15 Uniroyal radials that really stuff the fat fenders. This is a very robust build thats different enough to stand out and driven enough to be fully sorted. Who knew the 30s could be so fun? Call today!

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this 1935 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Coupe. Surprisingly enough the 35 Coupe was the only year that came with suicide doors from the factory. This option makes this beauty a rare find and a great survivor car. This classic coupe is powered by a strong 261 CID I6 that was rebuilt roughly 200 miles ago. The engine is paired up to the original transmission and runs like a top. Remaining in original condition this coupe is a prime example of a true survivor through the 83 years of its life. The car is cloaked in what is said be the original paint which is a nice burgundy color. With the color matching wheels this car keeps the classic look that many still love to this day. With the lack of modern amenities such as power brakes and power steering, surprisingly enough this car is still easy to drive. The interior is original as well with cloth interior which has no major rips or tears and is in good condition. Body joins and 80 years worth of life on the road and such are visible. Then it was primed and painted with a thin coat of satin black. Car presents nicely as is, but is also at a point where the appearance can be taken in any number of directions. Leave it as is for the Gangsta look, let it rust for the Rat Rod look, or do the prep and paint it the color of your choice. With a finished black vinyl interior, the possibilities are endless. The grille, bumpers, and outside door handles are original. The bumpers and grille were re-chromed. Fatties mirrors were fitted to each door. Windshield wiper transmissions, trunk lid hinges and latch, and hood handles are new reproductions. The License plate was relocated to the center of the trunk lid and incorporates an LED 3rd brake light. Tail lights are LED as well. Headlights are Halogen. All glass was replaced and is lightly tinted except for the front windshield, which is clear laminated safety glass. The foot-well floor panels and trunk floor were replaced. Unused holes in the original firewall were filled.Chassis: With the body off the frame for stripping, the original chassis was treated to a Mustang II front suspension setup from Chassis Engineering Inc., with Power Rack & Pinion steering. Out back, Chassis Engineering’s total replacement rear leaf spring kit is used to locate the 8” Ford rear axle. Front and rear sway bars from Chassis Engineering are installed as well. The frame was given a nice epoxy paint job. The brakes are front disc / rear drum. My additions included QA1 adjustable shocks on all four corners, and a hydro-boost unit to replace the vacuum power brake booster. Interior: The interior is finished in black vinyl and has billet aluminum door handles and cranks. The new reclining Corbeau bucket seats are vinyl trimmed but have cloth inserts in the seat and back areas for a comfortable ride. The head rests are adjustable up and down and also possess a fore and aft tilt adjustment. A three-point safety belt set from Juliano’s was installed for the front seats. The polished Ididit tilt steering column controls the installed Rostra Cruise Control, and is topped with a Mahogany Banjo steering wheel from Forever Sharp. The dash retains the original gauge trim bezel, which is almost always discarded. Keeping it helps balance the look with the trim on the glove box door. Behind the gauge trim bezel, sit Dakota Digital VHX gauges. Also on the dash is a Dakota Digital gear shift indicator. Windshield wipers were converted from vacuum to electric. A Classic Instruments clock is mounted in the glove box door. Though present, the cowl vent is non-functional. A Vintage Air A/C system is installed and incorporates a custom made center dash panel. This panel mounts the vertical A/C controls that are flanked by two vents for a one-of-a kind, yet almost factory appearance. In addition to the dash mounted fuel pressure gauge, there are two USB ports. The transmission is shifted via a Lokar floor shifter and the parking brake was retained on the floor as well. A Lokar brake pedal pad and throttle bracket assembly are used. A HalGuard “Clean Agent” fire extinguisher (gas – not powder) is installed within easy reach of the driver as part of NSRA Safety23 safety inspection criteria. Drivetrain: Chevy 350 engine. Overhauled by a previous owner (have receipts). Accel HEI distributor and Weiand aluminum intake / TH350 trans with shift kit. A FiTech EFI system is used and is tunable via hand-held LCD controller. The fuel tank is a 17 gallon poly unit from Tanks, Inc., and has the fuel pump in the tank. Cooling this setup is a PRC aluminum radiator and a Cooling Components CC-1750 2500 CFM fan/shroud combo. The fan is controlled by a Dakota Digital PAC-2750 programmable two-speed fan controller. Exhaust is 2 ¼ inch mandrel bent tubing. The system was tig welded and features Borla Crate Mufflers, Touring resonators, and tips. The “H” pipe is positioned and shaped so as to allow clearance for a future 200R4 overdrive transmission upgrade. The rear axle is an 8” Ford non-posi unit with 3.00 gears. Misc: Included are: 1) All receipts including those inherited from previous owners. 2) CD with comprehensive owner’s manual written exclusively for this car that contains a consumables part lists, service specifications, and documentation for major installed items.3) Reproduction factory shop manual on CD as well as a CD containing a list of work performed, and all information, research and reference photos taken during my ownership. 4) All weather car cover, and various new and original parts. 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Sedan. I started with a very clean rust free car. the chassis is nothing over the top, this was just going to be my wife cruiser. Mustang 2 front end with springs and shocks, ride tech has a coil over to replace those to give the car a better stance. the frame was sand blasted and powder coated with fully rebuilt rear end with 308 gears. the gas tank is installed (poly) and fuel and brake lines run. I chopped top to 3.5 inches and hand rolled top. the rear trunk lid was hinged to open horizontally. the wing windows were reshaped and reinstalled. all the window garnishes are cut down and fit very well. the dash was modified to cary a 7.5 inch double din stereo. under the dash is a 90 degree power brake system, also a split vintage air evaporator. the center console is all steel and the under dash panels to hide all components are done. There are specially made kick panels to except a pair of 5 1/4 speakers. I wanted to be able to pick up friends without having to get out of the pass. seat. so i designed and built a third door on the pass. side. I used late 50s GM door hinges because they open out ward and back and are very strong and fully adjustable. There is still a little work to do to complete but i would say 3-4 hrs. The fenders are Wescotts fiberglass, i believe i have a pair of front steel but fit like crap. i had Wescott build my fenders and had them do 3 layers of 1.50 oz. mat. i have tons more pics if needed, and Im sure i left out plenty.. -Vehicle is on consignment and at our clients home -Please Call First and talk to a rep at 231-468-2809 EXT 1 -Showroom is by appointment only Please Call -If you would like a FREE Listing please visit our consignment page or Call
