This is one gorgeous and very fast 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210. I obtained this vehicle after it had been previously run through a Barrett Jackson classic car auction. I have completed redone what was already a gorgeous restomod. This car gets plenty of looks. I completely rebuilt the entire drivetrain from the radiator to the rear end and added a three amplifier sound system with a sound processor that will make any ZZ Top song shake the entire car. There is less than 500 miles on the car since I completed the following work on the car (I also have all the receipts, so you have confirmation of exactly what you are buying):Cooling System: Be Cool Radiator and Reservoir.Engine: Completely rebuilt Chevrolet 355. Scat forged crankshaft, Scat forged connecting rods, ICON forged racing pistons, roller rockers, roller lifters, stainless steel valves, seven angle valve job, ported and polished Edelbrock heads (each chamber in the head was cc matched), every surface of the heads and block were precision machined. This engine was built by the expert race engine builder at Vintage Iron and Restoration and was "overbuilt" for the purpose of showing other customers the amount of torque and horsepower they could get out of a small block Chevrolet. Added a Vintage Air Front Runner set up to bring all of the accessories in close to the block.Transmission: Monster 700R4 with overdrive rated up to 650 horsepower and 600 ft pounds of torque.Read End: Ford 9inch rear end with Currie gears and 36 spline racing axles.Braking: Hydroboost brake booster mated with Wilwood slotted and vented brakes.WIth the technical details out of the way, there are less than 500 miles on the car since all of the above work was done. Once the motor was finished, the engine builder at Vintage Iron who built this motor took it out for a maiden 1/4 mile drag. I was in the car when he went through the gears bringing the car to its 7200 rpm capability. The road got blurry and I started lifting off the passenger seat. When we got the car back to the shop, we discovered we bent the Ford 9 inch rear end. We twisted the axles and bent the 9 inch Ford housing. The car has that much power. We then had to get another Ford 9 inch rear end, upgraded to Currie limited slip gears, and upgraded to 36 spline racing axles to handle the horsepower and torque of the engine.Although I run racing fuel in the car for additional performance, the car runs just fine on premium pump gas. I do not drag race or abuse the car and it has enjoyed relaxing drives to local cruise and car shows. This engine runs better than any classic car I have owned. People are surprised to find out there is a small block 355 under the hood. Many people have told me they thought it was a big block car when I pull into car shows. I can barely park the car before it is surrounded by people wanting to look under the hood of this beast.I live in Scottsdale Arizona and have driven this car in the middle of the Arizona summer heat. The car runs very cool and has zero problems handling the Arizona summer heat. This car can be driven twelve months of the year.The ride is enhanced with power steering, power brakes, and power windows (front only). The brakes on this car will literally throw you through the front windshield if you hit the brakes without a seatbelt (the car does have seatbelts). So, it stops as good as it goes.I then added three JL Audio amplifiers with a bit controller and a $1,200.00 Pioneer stereo to provide perfect sound in the car. There is a 15-inch subwoofer that vents into the rear decklid of the car along with front and rear speakers. You can crank any hot rod music and will be moved by the sound quality and sound level about as fast as the car will shoot you down the street or strip.All of the work described above was done at Vintage Iron in Scottsdale Arizona.
