Lots of automakers send their outgoing models off with a bang. In Camaros case, it was an awesome, bright red, 325 horsepower finale to its fourth-generation car. Any 2002 Camaro with a V8 is a formidable weapon that can hold its own against many new cars, but this Z/28 includes all of the visual cues to give everyone ample warning. This gorgeous convertible, with 18,572 original miles, is a prime example of a car that can only go up in value as the years roll by. Outside, you can see that this wasnt just a low mileage car, but a very well kept low-mileage car. There are no modifications to the exterior, but whats needed? Youve got shiny black paint, totally cool twisted flag stripes, an aggressive nose, a subtle rear spoiler and one of the meanest stances money could buy. The last of the 4th generation cars got new flush-mounted headlights, and they look particularly good on the Z/28. As far as condition, you can see in the pictures just how glossy the original paint is and thanks to extensive use of glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) panels, the only real parts of the body you even could dent were the quarter panels. The black convertible top is in excellent condition, and it operates as it should. Lights and lenses are all clear and bright. One things for certain: youre not going to sneak around unnoticed in this car! Inside, wear surfaces like the seats and door panels look just as youd expect for an 18,000 mile car. The seats use standard black leather thats still in fantastic condition with only slight signs of use on the drives chair. Of course, you cant miss the dash plaque telling you youre in something special, although as GM special editions go, this one plays it pretty cool. Full instrumentation is up front while a 500 watt Monsoon stereo with an in-dash CD player and steering wheel radio controls delights your ears for when youre cruising. Power everything from the windows to the mirrors to the drivers seat allows you to find your comfort zone. And again, check the odometer; this is an 18 year old car with 18,000 miles! Camaros also have modest trunks that are practical enough, but theres always the back seat if you need to stow your gear for a weekend away. Its mechanical package is standard Z/28 fare, but thats nothing to sneeze at. Theres a thoroughly modern, all-aluminum LS1 under the hood. 305 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque doesnt sound like much compared to a new Camaro, but its hauling around over 600 fewer pounds and there are a lot of these cars running high 12s right out of the box. New for 2001 were the Corvette LS6 intake manifold and cam, and those changes really woke up the motor. A healthy growl emanates from the low restriction dual exhausts and the 4-speed automatic transmission snaps to attention when your right foot calls up some horsepower. Of course, the Z/28 came with nearly every power feature from massive disc brakes at all four corners to power steering with a fluid cooler. 16-inch wheels are at all four corners and they wear fresh 235/55/16 Kumho radials. Built with a nod to history, the 2002 Camaro represented 35 straight years worth of production for Chevys pony car. One of only a handful of Anniversary convertibles made, this is a great car with good upside potential in the future. Call today!
Never one to miss a chance to create a special edition, GM gave the Camaro a very special send-off in 2002 with this 35th Anniversary Edition ragtop. On top of the SSs 325-horsepower Corvette-derived V-8, anniversary editions added exclusive hood, stripes, 35th Anniversary badging, and special wheels. Only 3000 Anniversary cars were built, but of those only 1398 were convertibles, making this three-owner SS a very rare piece. Showing just 15,589 original miles, this is a very well-maintained Anniversary Camaro. From the day it was purchased by its first owner, it has been treated like a treasured collectors item, not mere transportation. As a result, it has been only driven about 1000 miles per year and always preserved indoors during inclement weather. The special Anniversary paint scheme, with its wide silver SS stripes that dissolve into checkered flags, was penned by noted designer John Cafaro, who also did many of GMs pace cars and his influence is obvious. Someone clearly cared for this car and waxed the paint religiously, giving it a shine that is perhaps better than new, thanks to years of hand-buffing. Theres almost no sign of road rash on the nose or rockers, and it has never been hit or damaged in an accident. The top seals up well and all the special 35th Anniversary badges remain in place, easily identifying this car as something special. Two-tone black and gray leather was standard equipment on the Anniversary models, and just in case you missed the searing red paint job and badges, 35th Anniversary logos were embroidered into the headrests, and theres a separate Anniversary badge on the center stack. These cars came only one way: loaded, and it includes things like A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, a tilt wheel, and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system. The seats look quite good with only very minor wear on the drivers seat alone, while the rest of the interior looks almost new including the trunk area. The black power convertible stows itself with the push of a button and the original semi-rigid boot is included, complete with storage bags in the rather narrow trunk. But hey, its a Camaro convertible; if you want storage capacity, buy a truck! The Anniversary Camaros received a Corvette-based LS1, rated 325 horsepower, although performance figures suggest that the real numbers were closer to the Corvettes 345. Whatever the number, the SS is a formidable machine on the road, and the LS1 has quickly become legendary for reliability and ease of modification. For those reasons, its increasingly difficult to find an SS that hasnt been raced, abused, or modified, but this is such a car. It does have a K&N air filter, but thats about it for modifications aside from the SLP upgrades that were part of the package. The four speed automatic transmission offers lightning quick shifting and enough torque capacity to easily handle the LS1s output, and one glance underneath will convince you that this car has never lived someplace with snow in the forecast. Unique 10-spoke alloys with black inserts wear brand new 17-inch Michelin Pilot radials. In short, if youre looking for a Camaro thats sure to appreciate in the future, this 35th Anniversary model might be a smart choice. Complete with manuals, original window sticker, and other papers, this is the one to own. Call today!

Now available in our Dallas/Ft. Worth Showroom is this 2002 4th generation 35th anniversary addition Camaro. The fourth-generation Camaro debuted in 1993 on an updated F-body platform. The SS versions (1998-2002) received slightly improved exhaust and intake systems, bigger wheels and tires, a slightly revised suspension for improved handling and grip while retaining ride comfort, an arc-shaped rear wing for downforce, and different gearing ratios for faster acceleration, over the Z28 models. Chevrolet offered a 35th anniversary edition for the 2002 model year and that s exactly what we have here. Motoring this 2002 around is a 5.7-liter LS1 engine controlled by a 6-speed manual. It is 1 of 43 produced in 2002 and is painted in a beautiful Navy Blue Metallic with painted White stripes and Ebony leather interior. Very few cars had painted stripes. The owner sent the car back to GMMG Inc, (modifying cars for Berger Chevrolet), and had it upgraded to a Phase 2X6 package, (of 2 cars known, this is the only 2002), that upped the horsepower from 380 to 500! This included LS6 heads, headers, 4.10:1 gears, camshaft and tune. While there, it also had a few other special modifications installed. Electric exhaust cutout, Hurst line lock and a small shift light in drivers window pillar. The car has been autographed, under hood, by many of the major contributors that made this project happen. They include Matt and Dale Berger, owners Berger Chevrolet, Scott Settlemire, GM Assistant Camaro Brand Manager, also known as FbodFather, Matt Murphy, owner GMMC Inc. and Dennis Baker, previous Sales Manager and Camaro development at Berger Chevrolet. This contribution makes this Camaro truly one of a kind and very collectible. All original documents, as well as Phase 1 take off parts (cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds), original battery, air and oil filters. Heres a rare opportunity to own a very rare and powerful Camaro SS. Its in near new condition and ready for some serious fun. Open up the exhaust cutout and let all 500 ponies let loose.
