Chevy has been making pickup trucks since the 30s and when you make a gazillion of them, well thats no small amount of practice. Made to withstand all the punishment that a commercial vehicle needs to tolerate, this 1989 Chevrolet Silverado pickup appears to have led a very pampered existence. There cant be many that are nicer, leading us to wonder if its time for the Silverado to become a genuine collector vehicle. With a great looks, V8 power, and remarkable originality, this great-looking survivor deserves your full attention. Red will always be in style, especially in a pickup truck, and we have to admit that it works especially well on the Chevy C/K series of trucks. Combined with the regular cab and short bed, the Silverado has a sporty demeanor and a great look. It remains in outstanding condition for being nearly 30 years old, and the shiny paint has weathered the years far better than most GM products of the era, needing nothing more than a coat of wax to really look great. There are no notable blemishes, no major road rash, just a few touch-ups here and there (check out how nice that bed looks!), and its clear that someone really cared for this truck. There was not much chrome fitted to these workhorses but what is there remains in pretty good condition, including both bumpers. And if youre actually going to put it to work, youll be happy to find a heavy-duty bed mat for protection. Slip inside and have a seat. A comfortable cloth bench seat from a later truck makes this a first-class way to haul your gear and the red cloth upholstery looks immaculately maintained. Because this is a Silverado it is optioned with all the creature comforts, including air conditioning which still blows ice cold, plus an aftermarket AM/FM/CD stereo, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and a tilt wheel are all at your fingertips, further blurring the line between blue and white collar transportation. And we havent forgotten that this is a truck with a half- ton load capacity and so power steering and power brakes make it all manageable. The dash pad isnt even cracked and the sliding rear window provides a comfortable breeze for those days when A/C isnt needed. Given the condition of the interior, theres just no question the mileage shown is original. Open the hood and inspect the nicely detailed engine bay. This Silverado is equipped with the 350 cubic inch V8 that has been fitted to everything from Camaros to, well, pickup trucks. Theres more than enough power available if you choose to leave the motor bone stock like this one, which looks like it just rolled out of the showroom and still runs superbly. Its shockingly clean in there and maybe that chrome air cleaner adds a little sparkle. The 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission is also performing without complaint and there isnt a better transmission available to mate to the 350; after all, fuel mileage matters these days. Also take a look at the super clean undercarriage, where youll find no secrets, thanks to a lifetime in a warm climate, and again, it suggests that this truck has led a very good life. Polished Torque Thrust wheels add some flash to the bright red pickup, endowing it with a sporty demeanor and it carries recent blackwall radials all around. This is a great-looking truck today, and if these become collectable in the future, were pretty sure these handsome bed trucks will be first on the list. Call today!
1989 Chevy 2WD 5.7L Silverado 1500 PickupI purchased this truck from my next door neighbor. This truck belonged to their grandfather, who had passed away. From documents found in the vehicle, it appears that it has spent its life in North GA and East TN. A look underneath the truck shows little rust and that is characteristic of vehicles from this area. The truck runs and drives good. The tires are approx. 80% tread life remaining. The wheels are in very good condition with very few blemishes, even upon close inspection. The overall handling of the truck feels tight and original. The paint looks ok from a few feet away, but it is fairly dull. This truck is NOT an SS as the decals indicate. It is a stock Silverado 1500 that has SS decals on it. The motor starts and runs well. The heat and the A/C work. I had the A/C changed from the original R12 to the new R134 and installed new accumulator/drier and new orifice tube, so the air runs nice and cold. The radio will not come on at all. The fuel gauge, temperature gauge, and battery gauge, all seem to work perfectly, although the oil pressure gauge seems to run too high. I have been told that this is fairly common to this vintage. The speedometer and odometer do not work. All of the electronic controls on the heat and air work well. The electric windows work, but the power locks do not. The truck has new door handles and can be manually locked. The truck seat has a nice seat cover on it and the original seat underneath has a tear on the driver’s side from wear. The truck has had a sunroof installed that is not original to the truck. The turn signal lenses and brake light lenses are all new. The rear bumper has been removed and rolled, and when viewed underneath, the metal work and welding all appears to have been done pretty well. The interior of the bed is in good shape with only a few blemishes. The tonneau cover is new. The truck feels dependable and I drive it to and from work on nice days. Clean and Mean. Thats what this truck is. While the clean body lines of a regular 89 Silverado look good, it takes a lot of time and money to make them look this good. And the best part is, the body is just the beginning. The interior saw its share of customizing too and the engine has the mean part covered quite effectively. Check it out. Not sure what you will notice first from a distance. It will either be that its lower, or its higher. The whole truck sits lower and has an aggressive stance with big staggered wheels tucked up into those fender wells. But that cowl induction hood is definitely higher than it was to start with, kind of like they lowered the rest of the truck around it by 3 inches. Either way you look at it, it looks sweet in its custom Black paint with a Blue and Silver pin stripe painted and clear coated on along the top edge of the body line. Up front a custom chrome grill and bumper lead the way with a blue Chevy bowtie in the center, followed by door handles that were shaved to keep the look spotlessly clean and a tailgate that received a shave too, moving the gate latch to the inside of the bed, replacing it with a gold bowtie, and flanking it with Cadillac taillights. Open the door and you will find that plenty of time was invested into customizing the interior too. The door panel sets the tone in Gray with its pleated center panel and billet door pull surrounded by smooth vinyl with horizontal accent lines top and bottom. The comfortable bucket seats get the same treatment with a console mounted in the middle. There is plenty of billet in the dash starting with the steering wheel mounted on a tilt column which sits in front of a shaved dash with billet vents directing the air flow for the heat and A/C. A tall Lokar shifter rises out of the floor and the passenger side of the dash has Chevrolet in script riveted on. The power window switches are uniquely mounted on the ceiling and there is a hidden FM/CD and iPod compatible stereo that pumps the sound out through dual Rockford Fosgate amps with subs and Infinity speakers for your listening pleasure. Pop the hood and the show continues. There you will find a 5.3 liter V8 nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. The bright red MSD Airflow intake jumps right out at you and is complemented by polished coil packs as well as A/C compressor and receiver dryer. Everything is connected with a Painless Wiring harness kit and a Trailblazer SS ECU with a Vengence racing program calls the shots while an aluminum radiator keeps things running cool. Hedman ceramic coated headers weave their way out the bottom to a 2.5 stainless exhaust and a new master cylinder and booster puts the clamps on drilled and slotted front rotors. Power flows back through a 4-speed automatic transmission and a BellTech suspension system lowers the truck down making it handle like a dream. The rubber meets the road through 275/55R20s in the rear and 235/60 R18s in the front mounted on those sweet looking REV chrome wheels. Think this truck is pretty awesome? So did the judges at the 2016 LSFest who voted it Best Muscle Truck. Come on down and check it out for yourself. You might decide that its the best muscle truck for you and take it home.

Why This Car Is Special This truck is special from every angle you look, and mechanically it is very special. Lets dive in and explore why! Mechanical 1989 Chevrolet Silverados werent known for their incredible power. This truck changes that with a built 468 CID V8 with more bolt on power adders than you can count. Full length Hooker headers running to dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers that exit through the sides of the bed let onlookers know this truck is far from stock. An aluminum air gap intake is topped with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor with a clear air cleaner for a cool custom touch. Nitrous, Line Lock, electric fans, electric fuel pump, and a B&M shifter make this truck feel more like a race car, but it is very streetable. Power steering, power brakes and A/C make this truck as comfortable as your daily driver. A Turbo 400 automatic transmission handles the shifting and runs to a built 10-bolt rear end with big meats in the back on 5-star aluminum wheels to make sure every bit of the power gets to the ground. Interior The interior is a nice blend of stock 1989 Chevy and custom features. The high back bucket seats and custom center console are a nice addition. The shifter has been moved from the column to a B&M unit on the console. The headliner is aftermarket with a CD player and speakers that gives the inside a very clean look. The dash retains the factory gauge cluster but the addition of several switches and gauges bring you right back to reality. There are switches for the fans, fuel pump, line lock, nitrous, additional lights and more. The gauges consist of a large dash mounted AutoGage tachometer and 3 gauges on the A-pillar to let you monitor temperature, oil pressure and amperage. A Budnik aluminum steering wheel has been added to finish off the interior with a subtle custom touch. Exterior This short bed regular cab Silverado was the perfect starting place for this build. It has a great look when stock, and this one was taken over the top. The tailgate handle was moved to inside and a tonneau cover was added to give a nice finished look. A cowl hood was bolted on and a Candy Apple Green paint job with silver stripes was professionally sprayed over the body. The paint is a mile deep and competes with anything we have in our showroom. The rear bumper was replaced with a roll pan with Corvette taillights and a license plate mount. The front bumper was smoothed and painted and a front valance with fog lights was added to give the front end a more aggressive look. All of the lights are clear lenses with LED lights up front and a billet grill with SS badging ties it all together. Lastly, the windows were tinted because, lets face it, this truck wouldnt look right with clear glass. Conclusion This custom Silverado is ready to show, cruise or use as your driver on nice days. It has a lot of time and money invested and is an out of the box show winner. You couldnt build this truck for anywhere near the asking price. So, please call or text at 734-323-9260 or 727-688-1148.
