GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1988 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible for purchase. Back in 1967, GM rushed out the F-body styles to counter the unpredictable popularity of the Mustang. While the generations changed the Camaro greatly over the years, the main themes stayed the same. Low, quick power and style to go tear up the roads never goes out of style. The 3rd generation Camaros ran from 1982 to 1992 and Car and Driver picked the 1984 Camaro Z28 as the best handling car built in the United States.GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this nice 1988 Camaro Convertible for your consideration. All the power options work however the air conditioning has not been hooked up . The condenser is new I just didnt get around to getting it charged. Its a nice solid rust free 5.7 Iroc thats priced way under market. Since the pics were taken we replaced the dash pad and added the body side moldings. Also the car came with the red Iroc stickers , we have them. I thought the new owner would like to decide if they want the red or go with silver or gold. The car has 84,000 miles on it. $8800, Or-Best-Offer. One owner, well-maintained 1988 Camaro with T-Tops. Black exterior with gold trim. Medium Beech interior. All original, including wheels, except for the hood. (Please look up the VIN to see color combo). It is a base 5.0L V-8. My Mom bought this Camaro new in 1987 where she drove it every day. When she bought her first new car in 2017 (30 years later) she gave it to me to sell for her (notice the dates on the license plates). The body is in excellent shape except for a minor spot on the passenger ground-effect where she hit a curb a couple of years ago. She has had the same mechanic work on it for the past 8 years (I have the paperwork). Since this is a California car, it has no rust except for two spots on two replaceable plates under the t-tops. To get it ready to sell, it has a new thermostat, coolant temp sensor, temp sender, radiator, springs, struts, and shocks, plus a new headliner. It needs new brake pads and rotors for the front and new shoes and drums in the back. It has a slight fluctuation in the RPM when driving and sometimes has a hard time starting after driving for an hour or so in stop and go traffic. After it cools, it is just fine. I believe it has something to do with the automatic choke and the engine temp. I just don't have any more money to put into it. The temp gage fluctuates sometimes, and along with an installed, new temp sender, to troubleshoot, I have a new temp gage which I have not yet installed. Again, the interior/exterior is all original except for the headliner which I replaced a couple of months ago and some small damage on the passenger side ground effect. In California, it always stayed under a car port, and now, In Tennessee it always stays in my garage until the weekends when I stretch her legs. If you need more information, or if you need for me to send you more pictures, then please send me an email or message me. I will be glad to show the car with an appointment.
1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC T-Top Epic Rims Cooper Cobra Tires 245/50/R16 Custom Fiberglass Hood and Spoiler Air Conditioning Bucket Seats Cruise Control Tilt Wheel AM/FM Radio Cassette Power Brakes Power Steering Power Locks Power Windows Power Seats Power Mirrors Tachometer Center Console Chrome Exhaust Tips The Camaro line was greatly simplified this year, starting with discontinuing the slow-selling one-year-wonder LT model, and dropping the base Z28. The IROC-Z package proved popular and the package became standard on all Z28s. This resulted with two models remaining, the base coupe and the IROC-Z. Without the Z28 to bridge the gap between the base Camaro and the flagship IROC-Z, the previously standard aluminum 16-inch 5-spoke wheels were now an option - base IROCs now got the previous year Z28s aluminum 15 5-spoke wheels (which also became standard on the base coupes) and P215/65-15 tires. Also the old Z28s ground effects and spoilers were now standard issue on the base Camaro coupes. Base models received a new raised spoiler for the first half production year. All engines were fuel-injected this year; the 2.8 (173) running 135 HP at 4900 rpm and 160 lb.ft at 3900 rpm, the 5.0L 305 cid V8 gained throttle-body injection, bringing net horsepower to 170; the 305 TPI manual transmission models were rated at 220 HP @ 4400 and 290 @ 3200, Automatic at 195 HP @ 4000 and 295 @ 2800 and the 350 TPI got a small boost to 230 HP @ 4400 and 330 @ 3200. G92 (performance axle ratio) available only on IROC-Z with 5.0 TPI (LB9). All 1987 350 TPI L98 IROC-Zs came standard with the 3.27 BW rear end and everything that was included with G92 but did not have the G92 RPO code because it was not mandatory; this changed in 1988 however when a 2.77 rear was standard and G92 had to be specified to get the 3.27s. The IROC-Z also treated to some small cosmetic changes. The Z28 logos on the ground effects below the doors and on the rear bumper changed to read IROC-Z. The large IROC-Z call-outs on the door moved from the front of the doors to the back, to put some space between the logos. Option code DX3 offered buyers the option of deleting the IROC-Zs door decals and stripes for a $60.00 credit. Optional 16 aluminum wheels were redesigned with two lines instead of one large line in each spoke, and center caps backgrounds changed from a black to silver. Dash badges on the IROC still read Z28 on top and IROC-Z below. The vin code 8 is the engine code for a real TPI 5.7L IROC.
