Available in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is this very original Guards red with black leather interior and black top 1984 Porsche 911 Cabriolet. This outstanding Eurospec Carrera features: 3.2 liter horizontally opposed 6-cylinder, 5-speed manual transmission, 16-inch wheels, clean history, and just under 35k original miles. This 1984 Porsche 911 represents the highest evolution of the classic 911 body style with its fully galvanized body, much improved AC system, and unquestionable reliability. Not only does the 3.2 engine make more horsepower than its SC predecessor, but it also does not have any timing chain issues-one of the only notable problems found in the bullet proof SC. Speaking of Horsepower, the car makes 231 HP compared to its US counterpart which came in at 207 HP. This car was federalized when it first arrived in the US and received smog equipment, front reflectors, and a MPH speedometer, but it still retains many of its unique European details including side indicator repeaters, smaller rear bumperettes, the more powerful Euro motor, the small lower brake light, and Euro Hella H4 headlights. This 911 is in wonderful original condition. There is some very minor wear to the leather seats, and the door panels, dash and carpets look great for their age. The German canvas top is in very good condition as well. The paint is excellent with some small touched up stone chips on the front hood and a great luster and shine. The Porsche 911 is and has remained the most significant and fundamentally unchanged of the great sports cars of the last half-century. A true enthusiasts car, famous for its race-bred handling, durability, profound beauty, and unique and steadfastly simple design, this compelling Guards Red cabriolet is a fine example of the earliest and most fully realized of the real world 911s. A car as comfortable for local commutes, as it is competent at performance extremes; this is undoubtedly the most iconic of the air-cooled 911s.

There arent many sports cars that have been around as long as the 911, and none that have stayed as true to the originals formula. At the same time, Porsche has managed to transform the 911 into a modern sports car with the performance and amenities buyers expect. Its an icon of the sports car world and is the absolute embodiment of clench-jawed, tight-fisted, slit-eyed enthusiasm run amok, a car for making the landscape pass with explosive fluidity. The Carreras four-wheel discs and rear weight bias produced what was considered, at the time, the best passenger-car braking to be found. The steering scores well for precision and speed of response. This Carreras independent suspension is still all firm resilience and displays noticeable high-speed stability.Instrumentation is one of the Carreras long suits, the gauge cluster is formally dressed with everything in black and white. Wisconsin-based Porsche race and restoration shop Accumoto Motorsport is known for its detail-oriented 911 restorations. When it was asked to restore this car, the firm incorporated lessons from its extensive on-track experience, resulting in a 911 that honors one of Porsche s most important race cars. To begin, a 1984 911 Carrera was stripped to its bare tub and the restoration commenced from the ground up. The engine was built as a tribute to the legendary 2.1 RSR Turbo, Porsche s first turbocharged race car. Beginning with a magnesium case from a 1968 Porsche 911 engine, Accumoto used the same bore and stroke as Porsche s original design and added twin K16 turbochargers. This engine was then used in one of Accumoto s RSR race cars, which captured track records and overall wins at Sebring, Watkins Glen, and Road America. With development complete, the engine was disassembled, completely refreshed, and installed in this car. After the work was completed in 2015, the consignor acquired the car for his collection. This 911 features Porsche 930 brakes, a short-ratio G-50 transaxle with Guard differential, ride-height adjusters, and JRZ adjustable remote suspension dampeners. A GT2 RS-inspired racing roll cage surrounds a sumptuous Sebring Blue leather interior with Pasha-inspired inserts and Alcantara trim. The interior features custom LED footwell lighting, heated seats with adjustable lumbar support, and a discreet Bluetooth stereo. With over 360 rear-wheel hp available on high boost, this impressive 911 is a thoughtful homage to Porsche s glorious racing past.

It was the MY 1984 911 3.2 Carrera, reviving the Carrera name for the first time since 1977. The 911 3.2 Carrera was the last iteration in the original 911 series, with all subsequent models featuring new body styling with new brake, electronic and suspension technologies. A new, higher-displacement motor, a 3.2-liter horizontally opposed flat 6 cylinder, was utilized. At the time, Porsche claimed it was 80% new. The new swept volume of 3,164 cc was achieved using the 95 mm (3.7 in) bore (from the previous SC model) combined with the 1978 Turbo 3.3 crankshafts 74.4 mm (2.9 in) stroke. In addition, higher domed pistons increased the compression ratio from 9.8 to 10.3:1 (although only 9.5:1 for the US market). New inlet manifold and exhaust systems were fitted. The 915 transmission was carried over from the SC series for the first three model years.
