Available in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is this very original Guards red with black leather interior and black top 1984 Porsche 911 Cabriolet. This outstanding Eurospec Carrera features: 3.2 liter horizontally opposed 6-cylinder, 5-speed manual transmission, 16-inch wheels, clean history, and just under 35k original miles. This 1984 Porsche 911 represents the highest evolution of the classic 911 body style with its fully galvanized body, much improved AC system, and unquestionable reliability. Not only does the 3.2 engine make more horsepower than its SC predecessor, but it also does not have any timing chain issues-one of the only notable problems found in the bullet proof SC. Speaking of Horsepower, the car makes 231 HP compared to its US counterpart which came in at 207 HP. This car was federalized when it first arrived in the US and received smog equipment, front reflectors, and a MPH speedometer, but it still retains many of its unique European details including side indicator repeaters, smaller rear bumperettes, the more powerful Euro motor, the small lower brake light, and Euro Hella H4 headlights. This 911 is in wonderful original condition. There is some very minor wear to the leather seats, and the door panels, dash and carpets look great for their age. The German canvas top is in very good condition as well. The paint is excellent with some small touched up stone chips on the front hood and a great luster and shine. The Porsche 911 is and has remained the most significant and fundamentally unchanged of the great sports cars of the last half-century. A true enthusiasts car, famous for its race-bred handling, durability, profound beauty, and unique and steadfastly simple design, this compelling Guards Red cabriolet is a fine example of the earliest and most fully realized of the real world 911s. A car as comfortable for local commutes, as it is competent at performance extremes; this is undoubtedly the most iconic of the air-cooled 911s.
Excellent condition, 1984 Porsche cabriolet. I am the second owner. I have owned the car over 10 years. Always garaged it’s entire life. No rust, No accidents. Runs perfectly. European model.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa for purchase. Perhaps the most beloved body style ever produced for the 911 by Porsche was the Carrera of the 80s. Although sharing many of the visual cues of the generation prior SCs, the Carrera cars were much more well-appointed for driver comfort as well as the added performance of the now proven 3.2 liter flat six engine all while preserving the wildly popular lines of the car and its proven timeless design. More performance came with the continuing offer of three different body styles, the coupe, cabriolet, and the offered here in between Targa style. Air-cooled Porsches are historically significant in the automotive world and are globally sought after as one of the most desirable collector cars available. The car offered here is a great example finished in Black exterior paint over Black leather interior that was purchased new at Porsche Audi North of Dublin, OH. Factory options included: Steering wheel with raised hub, Blaupunkt Monterey Radio, Front and rear spoilers, sport shock absorbers, automatic 2 point seat belts rear, limited slip differential, forged alloy wheels, cruise control, increased side door strength, alarm system, heated and tinted windshield, etc. Today, little has changed in this 911s configuration and the car remains in very good original condition. The exterior paint is deep and glossy and the interior is tidy showing the perfect amount of patina. This Porsche remains completely stock right down to the original Blaupunkt radio, steering wheel and 16 inch Fuchs. Mechanically, this Porsche is spot on, pulling strong in every gear, shifts great and handles like it should.Documentation includes its original owners manual, original warranty book, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and a healthy service file.Porsche 911s continue to dominate the collector car scene and the future remains bright. A car, such as this will always be in demand as they are excellent driving investments.

It was the MY 1984 911 3.2 Carrera, reviving the Carrera name for the first time since 1977. The 911 3.2 Carrera was the last iteration in the original 911 series, with all subsequent models featuring new body styling with new brake, electronic and suspension technologies. A new, higher-displacement motor, a 3.2-liter horizontally opposed flat 6 cylinder, was utilized. At the time, Porsche claimed it was 80% new. The new swept volume of 3,164 cc was achieved using the 95 mm (3.7 in) bore (from the previous SC model) combined with the 1978 Turbo 3.3 crankshafts 74.4 mm (2.9 in) stroke. In addition, higher domed pistons increased the compression ratio from 9.8 to 10.3:1 (although only 9.5:1 for the US market). New inlet manifold and exhaust systems were fitted. The 915 transmission was carried over from the SC series for the first three model years.
