Coming with a clean Carfax and originally assembled on July 23, 1981, this 1981 Corvette is in very nice condition, and nicely optioned as well. This cars odometer reads 31,879 miles; although the title reads mileage exempt, there is no doubt in our mind that these miles are original and correct based on the presence and overall condition of this cars original parts, as well as a Carfax record from 1993, which documented the miles at 200. One of the first few thousand Corvettes built with a factory clearcoat, this cars paint appears to be original, and is vg with a great shine and typical light fading on the bumpers. Every piece of exterior glass in this car shows a correct date code, including the t-tops, which are vg-exc. Exterior door handles appear to be original, and are vg-exc. Slotted aluminum wheels have been nicely polished, and are vg-exc with vg-exc center caps. Older Goodyear Eagle GTII raised white letter tires show an average of 7/32nds (64%) tread depth remaining. The interior of this 1981 Corvette looks to be nearly all original, with vg-exc gauges and GM seatbelts, and vg carpet, dash, and center console shift plate. Passengers vanity mirror is vg-exc, and correct appearing AM/FM/8 track stereo with CB radio is in place, and complete with talker. T-top bags and strap are included. RARE original cloth seats are vg-exc other than a small hole in the drivers lower section. The numbers matching engine in this 1981 Corvette shows original casting date June 28, 1981. Correct air cleaner, carburetor, intake manifold, air pump, radiator hoses, and a/c compressor are all in place. Frame is solid and rust-free. Included with this car will be the original owners manual and window sticker, original brochure, and records dating back to 2012. This 1981 Chevrolet Corvette is one of those cars thats easy to love. And why wouldnt you? Low mileage, unusual colors, and a bargain price. If youre looking to have some fun in a vintage car without spending a ton of cash, this Corvette looks very like a very smart choice. If you look around, clean C3 Corvettes are getting harder to find. Sure, you can always find some tired beater, but with prices inching steadily upwards, the best original cars are surely to start appreciating. This 48,172-original mile Corvette is wearing what we might consider original paint. It was repainted when it was new in 1981 by the dealer because the original owner didnt like the condition of the factory paint. As a result, it has probably held up better than most and its condition suggests that someone has always loved this car. The fiberglass is in excellent condition with no evidence of accident damage, and the finish is nicely preserved thanks to owners who kept it out of the foul weather. Urethane bumpers came into vogue a few years earlier, but because of that early respray, these match the bodywork and arent all cracked and crumbling like many neglected Vettes youll see in this price range. Its pretty easy to imagine this car in your driveway, isnt it? The gorgeous code 672 Dark Red leather interior is a fantastic contrast. For an all-original interior, everything seems to be in good condition save for some cracking on the drivers seat that should be easy enough to repair. These cars only came one way: loaded, so notable features include power windows, locks, and seats, A/C (needs to be serviced), AM/FM/8-track stereo radio, and a tilt/telescoping steering column. The door panels and dash pad are in great condition, again suggesting that the car never spent hours baking in the hot sun, and we have to believe the carpets are original too. The gauges are bright and clear, and yes, the tachometer parking itself at 800 RPM is typical of GM cars of this vintage and is not a defect. A color-matched leather steering wheel has aged slightly differently than the rest of the interior, more proof that its original, and a neatly finished cargo bay with protective cover all make this a Corvette thats very easy to live with every day. The engine is the original, numbers-matching L81 350 cubic inch V8, which made a fairly stout 190 horsepower 1981. The chrome air cleaner with dual snorkels helps feed the energetic small block and there are signs of proper maintenance and correct markings throughout, with nothing radical or modified that would suggest abuse. By 1981, they werent exactly pretty engines, but this one has not been hacked or modified in any significant way, which means that it has been in responsible owners hands all its life. Even the exhaust system is a fresh original-style 2-1-2 setup with catalytic converter. Theres also a new carburetor, fuel pump, master cylinder, and sending unit to make it run right. The TH350 3-speed automatic transmission always seems to find the right gear when you need it, and the very tidy undercarriage shows off clean living in a warm climate and that miniscule mileage. Four-wheel discs and an independent suspension have been standard for decades, and the 81 Corvette was the best-handling Vette yet, due in part to those handsome alloy wheels wearing their original (yes, original!) 225/70/15 Goodyear radials (great for show but if youre going to drive it, we might recommend fresh rubber). This is a high-grade survivor that can win preservation awards and remains a fun-to-drive alternative to the big-dollar cars. Call today!
This 1981 Chevy Corvette is a good running and driving car. It has the 350 engine with the 350 Turbo transmission. The engine just got a new water pump and new radiator. The previous owner had the car painted so the White paint is fresh. It has New seat covers and carpet. The dash pad has a couple cracks but overall in good shape. The power windows, power locks, power mirrors, and power antenna all work. It has A/C but it only blows out the bottom. It does not blow out of the vents. The wipers work as does all the gauges and lights. The headlights come up but the one on the drivers side is slow. It has tilt steering as well as a nice AM/FM CD Player with speakers behind the seats. This car has the glass tops that you can take off. The emergency brake works. All the glass looks good. It has new tires. This Corvette is a good driver quality car. The mileage is exempt on title so true miles are unknown.
The third generation of Corvettes enjoyed a long run of almost 15 years. As is always the case, this model run was tweaked and improved along the way. This 1981 model is among the last of the series so enjoys all those improvements, and the icing on the cake is the choice of a beautiful two-tone color scheme matched by a rich leather interior on this one. Check it out. Autumn Red over Dark Claret Metallic paint draped over the muscular curves of this body style really looks good! In 1980, both the front and rear bumper covers were restyled with integrated spoilers that resulted in not only a reduction in drag and improvement in engine cooling, but a clean new look too. The combination of the paint and new spoilers makes the car look even lower and leaner than it really is, which is quite an accomplishment. The paint shines nicely, catching the light and reflecting it back as it moves down the street. A steeply raked windshield flows back over mirrored T-tops that can be removed for open air motoring, and then down over the sloping rear glass to an integrated rear spoiler. Crossed racing flags appear on the hood between the hideaway headlights and also on the gas cap at the rear. Corvette appears in script between the four round taillights. Open the door and you will find a rich red interior with gorgeous, power operated, red leather sport seats. They have pleated seating surfaces and substantial side bolsters offering side support for spirited driving. A little bit of cleaning and detailing would help this interior look considerably better. For example, the door panel could use the door latch trim piece replaced and the steering wheel could use a new cover laced around it. The dash is trimmed in a nice wood grained finish with the speedo and tach directly in front of the driver and a stack of engine gauges appropriate for a sportscar that include water temp, fuel, oil temp, oil pressure, and voltage in the center. Below them in a Kenwood FM/Cassette deck and below that are the ventilation controls that include those for the Air Conditioning are set in the wood grained center console. There is a round shift knob for the automatic transmission and power window as well as power mirror switches are at your finger-tips just behind it. Pop the hood and you will find a tried and true 350 cubic inch V8 motor that benefited from the continuous development of the GM powertrain engineers. For example, an aluminum intake manifold that was previously optional equipment became standard, and distributes the mixture from the 4-barrel carburetor to the cylinders more effectively while finned aluminum valve covers help with engine oil cooling. The heads are stock as well as the exhaust manifolds which send the spent mixture out through a new exhaust system. This is a very original, survivor type of engine bay with signs of good regular maintenance that include newer A/C compressor lines as well as new belts and hoses. The power this engine makes is sent back through a 3-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Power steering and power 4-wheel disc brakes help the car handle and stop like the legendary sportscar it is, and the rubber meets the road through 255/60R15 tires on 5-lug Corvette spinner wheels. A classic Corvette in a gorgeous two-tone paint scheme with a rich red leather interior. Come on down and check it out.
V-8 engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, bucket seats, console with floor shifter, power windows, tilt steering, AM/FM cassette, mirror T-tops, 15" aluminum wheels.

47,984 actual mile Corvette Coupe Factory Two-Tone Paint 350 V8 4 speed A/C /// Sold through Weil-Koenig Chevrolet of Amherst, New York, this Chevy spent the first 22 years of its life in the hands of one loving owner. Roughly 40K miles later, the car was passed to its second owner, an Oregon native who kept it running clean and strong for close to a decade. Circa 2012, this Chevys third owner, a New Jersey resident with a penchant for collectable Corvettes, polished the cars wheels and upgraded its radio. But, unfortunately, the collector had to downsize, and the Corvette met its fourth owner that same year. In addition to tinting the cars windows and detailing its interior, that fourth and present owner commissioned Rock Hill, South Carolinas Corvettes Unlimited to repaint this Chevys bumpers. And today, one close look at our high-resolution photos reveals a highly original gem that, except for a few blends, features largely original paintwork. Tilt this Corvettes sculpted hood and youll find 350 cubic inches of original L-81 V8 that twists stout 8.2 to 1 compression into 190 horsepower and 280 lb./ft. of everyday torque. Behind that VIN-stamped mill, a lightweight Borg Warner Super T10 4-speed, an original unit thats branded with a correct partial VIN, spins a lightweight Dana 44 differential. That driveline hangs in a fully independent suspension, which combines correct power steering with correct power disc brakes. And everything rolls on polished alloy wheels, which spin 225/70R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As around correct cross-flag center caps. With its detailed history and original drivetrain, this Corvette is the kind of old school muscle that can make any enthusiast happy. And for our asking price, its one heck of a deal! You know what it means to have a survivor Corvette. So with original two-tone on the outside, a loaded interior, all wrapped in a time capsule low-mileage package we know youre excited about this 1981 Chevrolet Corvette. The high level of preservation on this one is likely because of its significant history. This was the inaugural year of the famous Bowling Green factory, and the only way you could get a two-tone was out of the new Kentucky facility. And because the factory-correct beige and dark bronze is a rare treat, youll be happy to tell everyone that this is the original application. And the reason why it looks so good today is you have a coupe that has averaged only 1,020 miles annually, and it shows all signs of a well-kept life. So yes, its a standout factory original from the first year of the place still making new Corvettes today! More than just history, youll love this paint for its sophistication. The two-tone is separated by a triple-tone stripe that highlights some of the best curves of the C3s body. It even is used to showcase the power bulge in the hood. And while these years were extra sleek for their chrome-free appearance, there was still room for brightwork. It just now highlights the optional alloy wheels. Inside is a well preserved and loaded presentation. The camel-colored leather seats look fantastic, and because this is a later C3, they fold to give you excellent access to the rear storage. This is a true drivers machine with the leather wrapped steering wheel that gives you an excellent view of the large speedo and tach. Plus, to your side is full array of auxiliary gauges, including working clock. But more than just a great sports car, this is a comfortable classic with power windows, power locks, electric rear defogger, and cruise control. Even the GM/Delco AM/FM stereo with 8-track is still working, so yes, this is a very unspoiled machine! We always love the view from the glass T-tops, and those who love taking them out will also be happy to know this has provisions for factory air conditioning. The L81 350 cubic-inch V8 is an iconic motor. It retains its original presentation, right down to the valve covers. And real fans will love pointing out the Keep you GM car all GM decal on the air topper. As you look at the undercarriage photos, the tidy presentation of a place few people see prove how well this Corvette has been respected all its life. But a car like this is more than just an artifact. The V8 inhales deeply through the Rochester four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with authority from the dual exhaust. And with the fully independent suspension, power steering, a three-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes come together to create one of the best grand touring classic around. A car this significant also needs the right paperwork, and so the sale comes with the original window sticker, owners manual packet, and warranty card. This is your chance at a great survivor at a great price. Dont miss out, call today!

This awesome 1981 Chevrolet Corvette is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1981 was a year of first for the Corvette. Not only was this the first year for Corvettes to be produced at two factories but it was also the first year for the now historic Bowling Green plant. The STL plant cars were only available in solid colors while the new revolutionary Bowling Green plant had the capability to paint them two tone, a rather extravagant option for a production car in 1981. With the odometer showing a mere 46235 actual miles, this beauty has lived a pampered life. The bright red metallic paint brings out the lines of the 81 nicely. Under that long hood is the classic small block Chevy that came in the car backed by the original Turbo 350 Hydramatic transmission. The T-tops are in excellent condition and have the tinted look which makes the red paint pop even more. Take them off and the wind will be blowing through hair in no time. With the black leather seats looking as new as the paint this Corvette has everything you would look for in a classic. The polished wheels are in excellent condition and are something that you just don t see any more. With a clean CARFAX this is one C3 that you dont have to worry about if those miles are original or not. The car has received recent maintenance in the form of new brakes, shocks, struts, tires, exhaust, and a recharge for the AC. The color scheme is straight from 81 with beige on the exterior and dark red interior. Unique to this Vette are the cloth seats which are rare to find in a Corvette. Much like fashion trends like leg warmers and members only jackets circle back into popularity every few years, the color scheme on this particular Vette is just so vintage that it looks current. One could drive a car like this everyday to work like a modern car, or keep it tucked away waiting for a sunny weekend to be uncovered and shown to the world. Hello,I am helping my aunt sell my late uncle's pride and joy. His 1981 Corvette. It does show its age in a few spots like the seats and weather stripping. But the car is in excellent shape. The paint is in good condition and has never been repainted. From what I remember the car has been garage kept most of its life. How ever you are not getting a run of the mill 81 vett. He bought the car in 2001 with 38,496 miles. At 44000 miles the car under went a complete rebuild. I have all the invoices from Woodlands Performance to the tune of $21,747 in work performed. There is way too much to list. I took pictures of most of the invoices so you can see what was done. The parts total comes to $16,800. There is a complete rear suspension in boxes that he never got around to having installed. As you can see all this work was performed 2000 miles ago, so the motor isn't even broke in yet. The transmission was also built at the same time. The car has everything but a dyno sheet. The only issue I know of is the AC and the vents are not working. The vents did worked before the car went into the shop so maybe something is disconnected. Car can be seen by appointment only as I have to work my schedule around it. It is located in the Spring area. I will respond to voicemails left.
