Beautiful 4 speed Carmine Red MGB. Good Driver, driven often, always garaged. Every thing works.
Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a great little 1980 MG B. These Bs are a lovely classic car to own. Since they were made in England, they have plenty of British character. Luckily by 1980, they had worked out the bugs with these Bs and they really are quite reliable vehicles. The recipe is simple: a 4 cylinder engine up front, a 4 speed transmission in the middle, and rear wheel drive. This makes for a really fun to drive, yet simple machine. This particular example has been beautifully kept and shows only 76,319 miles on the odometer. The car is mostly stock with the exception of a single Weber carburetor. The 1,800cc engine runs beautifully and the car drives like a much newer vehicle than it is. The MG is finished in jet black inside and out which gives a nice timeless look. The paint has a deep shine and the interior shows very little wear. This car has been used as a sunny day driver and would be great to bring to the local Cars and Coffee. The engine compartment is clean and presentable, so its ready to show! You can see this cherry little 1980 MG B in greater detail in our St. Louis showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 618-271-3000 or email@example.com with inquiries.

I believe this MGB has 27,726 actual miles. There are certain characteristics of a low mile car I picked up on before even looming at the odometer. INTERIOR: Im sitting in the car. The seats and headrests have firm cushions, upholstery looks new. Carpet looks new. The stuff that doesnt get replaced like steering wheel, console, gauges etc are mint. There is no wear on the steering wheel. I open the glovebox and find some nice surprises. There is a receipt for new tires in 1998 and the miles were at 25,500. Thats only 100 miles a year the last 20 years. I also find the orginal hard cover owners manual, folded up inside is the original window sticker. It was sold brand new and at a Jaguar-Rover-Triumph dealer in Kankakee Illinois. EXTERIOR: Body is clean and straight. Has glossy smooth paint. There is a bend in the aluminium trunk lid that can probably be straightened. The chrome and trim still look new. The original windshield is very clear, no wiper marks. The rubber bumpers are excellent, not nicked up. Black convertible top is new, plastic windows are crystal clear. The original top boot is very nice. Also has factory tonneau cover, in excellent shape. Wheels are painted nice, trim rings are shiny. Weatherstrips and seals are soft rubber. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It also has tell tale signs of a low mile car. The complete heat shield with duct work that heats the carb is still complete. The smog pump that most people remove is still intact. Wiring looks good, belts are new. The car was driven an hour to Volo, runs great. Has dual electric fans. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean metal with nice yellow paint. Has spare. Original jack is in its pouch. Power disc brakes Walnut shift knob Full instrumentation Stereo Floormats Console Reclining seats Owners manual Window sticker Tonneau cover Top boot Luggage rack
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1980 MG MGB for your consideration. Finished in a Black exterior and a Black interior. Under the hood rests a 1.8L inline 4 that is driven through a manual transmission. This is an all original vehicle with numbers matching engine and transmission. This MGB is originally from California, it has only been in Michigan for the past 2 years and has been taken care of very well over its lifespan. This is the last year the MGB was manufactured and one of the most desired models. Please contact us today for more information. The MGB is a two-door sports car manufactured and marketed by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), later British Leyland, as a four-cylinder, soft-top roadster from 1962 until 1980. Its details were first published on 19 September 1962. Variants include the MGB GT three-door 2+2 coupe (1965 1980), the six-cylinder roadster and coupe MGC (1967 69), and the eight-cylinder 2+2 coup, the MGB GT V8 (1973 76)To see over 80 photos of this car, including under carriage please visit our website www.grautogallery.com
1980 MG MGB With numerous buyouts and mergers, the MG moniker became increasingly less funded, due to concentration of efforts to market other models within the waning British Leyland Company. The MG MGB -LE was a marketing endeavor between British Leyland and the US distributor to boost slipping sales. Produced for 1980 model year, the LE kit would only be installed on black cars. A total of 6,668 LEs were produced. This MGB LE for consignment was partially made up of parts manufactured in the US. The front air dam and luggage rack were two of those additions which were sent back to the US for dealer installation. Only available in the convertible version of the MGB, and not the GT model, this model needs some cosmetic TLC. Exterior This particular LE model shows different than the standard MGB in that it has a front air dam within the 5-mph bumper, 5-spoke alloy wheels, silver rocker stripes, luggage rack, and Limited-Edition plaque. Black repaint was applied in 2008 and shows in fair condition. The convertible top is slightly stiff from age and is difficult to snap down to the body. Rear window is clear with a few scratches within it. Interior Leather covered 3-spoke steering wheel and Limited-Edition plaque, are seen fronting the two tan leather buckets. Consigner states that new carpeting was put in in 2008 along with the paint job. Instrument panel, center console, and other interior surfaces are in need of detailing, but all is functional. Drivetrain A 1798cc 4-cylinder engine fed by dual SU carbs and a 4-speed manual transmission with working electronic overdrive. This configuration has just seen a complete tune ups, and the car starts quickly, and runs and drives great. The particular LE has been owned by the same individual for over 10 years. An opportunity to own the last of the iconic MGs at a very reasonable price, along with adding some cleanup, and detailing, youll be good to go!

1980 MG MGB has been indoors for about 10 years, and also well maintained. Paint looks well with no chips other than some parts next to the door and hood jams. Interior is all there but just has a rip on the driver seat, and a few knobs are coming apart, but the tachometer does not function. Does run, front brakes work well but a leak was found on the rear right drum. Fairly new tires were put on with no major dry rot. From what I can tell there is no rust on the undercarriage. Another of our wonderful 'conversions.' Started with a near perfect MGB, 51,000 validated miles since new (around 1,400 miles a year since new). Rust free, excellent body and incredibly well preserved original black paint, new clutch at 40,000 miles, three careful loving owners, new top, great starting point. Our work: 32 DGV Weber carb with improved exhaust manifold, complete, professional chrome bumper conversion, new chrome bumpers, guards, Mk I grille, new lights and sheet metal, wire wheels with all new splined hubs, new chrome knock offs, wood dash, leather steering wheel, Alpine stereo, full tonneau, by eliminating the side lights gives the same exterior 'look' as the earliest (and best looking) MGBs. BUT, as a late model B, such refinements as servo brakes, front and rear sway bars, bigger gauges, smoother transmission and engine, electronic ignition, thermostatically controlled radiator fans, alternator, dual circuit brakes, in every way, a superior sports car. Simple, reliable, easy to service, contemporary use and performance and we can even install modern (and effective) air conditioning. Really the best of the early and late model MGBs. AND...we can 'customize' this car to a buyer's preferences. Want high back/head rest seats? Remove the side stripes? We can finish this car as a new owner may wish. Overall, one of the absolute best MGBs we have ever had, so well preserved, so low mileage, and so fantastic condition.
20,000 original miles, looks and drives like new with the addition of more power via installation of a 3/36 DGV Weber carb. Wire wheels, orange with black interior, everything looks the part....spotless engine bay and trunk, perfect floors no obvious wear anywhere. AND AN IDEAL car for a bit of 'dress up' and improvement. And these late model MGBs were vastly improved over early examples. Smoother engines, better transmissions, servo assist disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, electronic ignition, thermostatically controlled radiator fans, bigger gauges, thoroughly rust proofed, with all of these and more, this car drives beautifully and offers a classic sports car with modern controls and driveability.
One of the best conversion we ever did.............what came in as a rust free, ugly, gutless, and ill handling ugly ducking has emerged as an exquisite very usable classis sports car.Excellent body with very nice tartan red paint, a complete chrome bumper conversion.....removed the ugly and heavy rubber bumpers, added new sheet metal, lights, eliminated and plated over the holes for the side lights, fitted a Mk I grille, new chrome bumpers, lowered the car to the pre 1975 ride height, fitted a modern 32/36 Weber DGV carb and improved exhaust manifold...........NOW a great MGB. Much better handling, performance, and (of course) exterior appearance..See, here is the situation.....other than those three tiny issues (bumpers, etc.) the later MGBs were superior cars. Power assist disc brakes, front AND rear sway bars, rust proofed, bigger gauges, better engines and transmissions, stronger back axles, better cooling systems, electronic ignitions, etc. Reliable, fun to drive, easy to service, and with a style that defies aging.Hence our elaborate conversion. But on this car we went further...note the custom dying of the dash surround, console, etc. so that it all matches. And with leather seats, modern stereo, new top and tonneau, carpeted trunk, and wire wheels with 185/70 radials, this is one fabulous MGB.And yes, perfect compression and oil pressure, zero smoke, rebuilt front end, excellent wiring, ready to drive anywhere. And, isn't that what is all about?
