1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans AMI am selling a 1978 Black Trans AM. I purchased it in August of 2016 as my first RESTORATION PROJECT. This was not a wreck. It has no body damage other than rust. It is not together. The engine and transmission are pictured. They have both been proffessionally rebuilt. The pictures of the car when it is together are from the day we started the restoration project. There are no parts missing. I will be happy to "FACE TIME" with you if you are interested in the car. I am located in Huntsville AL. Please feel free to call me at 256 - 513 - 0033. Look at all the pictures and read all of the description before you email or call.**PLEASE NOTE; This car is a Roller right now. The body is on the frame, the engine and transmission are not installed, the interior is out. We have stopped the restoration. I purchased the car from a friend. He had it in his garage for several years. The picture of the car together is from the day we began the restoration. The picture of the car in the garage was from my friends house the day I purchased it. There is nothing missing. I would be happy to face-time you and allow you to see the car in all it's glory. It came with the 6.6 liter engine and factory sport package. *(upgraded suspension - rear end etc) It came with factory power windows, door locks and air and with an automatic transmission. It came with the black on black premium interior. It has a good bit of rust in the trunk and floor pans. Our plan was to replace these pans as well as few skins when we began the body work. Again, I am not able to finish the project. The engine, transmission, rear end, suspension, brakes and frame are all complete. The car is a roller. The engine has no hours. There are no parts missing. This car is ready for the body and interior to be restored. ****The car is still at the restoration shop that did all the work, no money is owed. We have a great relationship. They would be open to finishing the project for the new owner. Life is not going to allow me to finish this project. Again, I PURCHASED THIS 1978 TRANS AM TO DO A RESTORATION. ALL INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR PARTS ARE PRESENT. WE USED R & R Speed & Machine Shop IN HUNTSVILLE AL TO TOTALLY REBUILD THE ENGINE. (ENGINE HAS NO HOURS). ENGINE IS FINISHED. From the picture you will see the Edelbrock Top End kit. Roller Rockers Engine etc. Engine is pictured. IT HAS ALSO RECEIVED A TRANSMISSION REBUILD, with a shift kit. Transmission is pictured.COMPLETED FRONT END REBUILD. COMPLETED NEW BRAKES ALL 4 CORNERS. REBUILT DRIVE SHAFT. REFRESHED REAR END W/ SEALS. SHOCKS AND SPRINGS ALL THE WAY AROUND. FRAME WAS POWDER COATED. NO BODY OR INTERIOR WORK HAS BEEN DONE. IT'S A GREAT PROJECT CAR. I HAVE OVER $10,000 IN RECEIPTS NOT INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL PRICE OF VEHICLE. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET A GREAT DEAL. I have included a picture of the invoice from the shop that's done the work as well as a hand written summary of what has been done. This is a dream come true for someone looking to own a 1978 Trans AM who maybe has body and interior work connections. 1978 Pontiac Trans Am SE currently being restored. #'s matching Pontiac 400 engine re-built with 425 HP, re-built automatic transmission, new stereo, amp and 4 speakers with upgraded performance suspension & brakes. Need cash!
1978 Pontiac Trans AmClean and is definitely an eye turner. 54,179 miles. 6.6L (403) V-8 runs good. Air Conditioning has new compressor and hoses. Interior has partial restoration, very very little needed to complete. New rims and tires. Original radio w/ 8 track tape (not sure if the 8 track works tho - don't have any 8 tracks hahaha). It has been in the garage for the last 3 years, and taken out only on weekends and never even seen rain. Hate to see it go, but don't drive it enough. Hopefully someone will show it the proper attention. Price can be negotiated, but don't come in with a number so low that it wastes everyone's time. Please contact me with any questions (702) 862-9727. Mark
