Just Toys Classic Cars is proud to present a really cool British car. Before you is a 1978 MG B. If you are like us and had one of these car back in the day, or just drove one and remember how much fun they were, then you know why you have to buy this car. These cars were not about tons of horsepower and torque, even though the little I4 under the hood had a bit of torque to it. These cars were about having fun driving. Going through the gears with the wind in your hair and having the time of your life. This car was body on redone about 7 years ago and still presents very well today. The fit and finish are in great shape, and it looks good from 20 feet or 2 feet. This is just one cool car. Well, now that we possibly have you going down memory lane, lets pop that hood and check out the cool little inline 4 cylinder under the hood. Unlike modern cars of today that are covered in plastic pieces so you cant even see that there is a motor in there, you could do head stands in this engine bay. These cars are very easy to work on, and this one has had a recent tune up, and it purrs like a kitten. So what do ya say we close that hood, come around and undo the top latches and put that top down and get ready for some fun memory lane driving. Once you hit that key and just listen to that motor purr, the ear to ear grin on your face isnt from some horsepower laced, tire breathing monster, it is from the memory of how cool these cars are and how much fun you are about to remember. The black seats in this cool interior have been recovered and there are no rips or tears in them. The carpet, dash, and the top are all in great shape. Something that you have to appreciate on a car of this age. As you go through the gears with the wind in your hair, you remember when life was maybe a little simpler, and a lot more fun. This car brings back that feeling every time you get in it. We offer classic car financing for those that would like to take advantage of the option. Beautiful example.......57,000 miles, virtually perfect, rust free floor/sills/rockers, excellent body with excellent Tahiti blue ORIGINAL PAINT AFTER 38 YEARS!!!!!!!), 32 DGV Weber carb with tubular racing headers, complete professional chrome bumper conversion, new bumpers, guards, Mk I grille, new lights, wire wheels, new splined hub adapters, new chrome knock offs, lowered to pre 1974 1/2 ride height, new front bushings, a LOT of work went into this car. We even spent more money to eliminate the side lights so that the exterior is identical to a 1962-1968 MGB,. The best looking of all. Compression: 140-145 psi in every cylinder, zero smoke, 70 psi oil pressure (all 'as new'), excellent transmission, running, driving. New top, wood dashboard, new Sony stereo with USB input, leather steering wheel, excellent Autumn Leak interior. Whats nice about this late model car is the refinements so often overlooked. As one of the last MGBs, servo assist disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, bigger gauges, better controls, electronic ignition, thermostatically controlled cooling fan, in some ways, sort of like 35% Honda/Toyota and 65% classic English sports car. Simple, reliable, stylish, and (perhaps most important)....fun. We can also install modern (and very effective) air conditioning which makes this car an interesting alternative to a contemporary sports car. Okay, will not do 0-60 in four seconds but is that REALLY that important? For normal use, cruising at any practical speed, great handling, a rust free, excellent MGB is just about perfect. This car was owned (and babied) by an MGB car club member and is one of the cleanest, nicest original MGBs we have ever seen. ABSOLUTELY rust free and with perfect fit of everything. Even the original jack and jack bag. Runs and drives wonderfully and would be an ideal classic to use as an alternative to a contemporary car.
Certainly the best (or equal to the best) late model MGB we have ever had for sale........ Acquired from a doctor friend who poured more than $30,000 into preparation and restoration costs. Resulting in a sensational show winning example. Virtually perfect, rust free body/chassis with show quality paint. Perfect engine bay detailing. All new interior, top, trunk, on and on. Engine done by world famous SCCA National champion Kent Prather with new SU H6 carbs, headers, electronic ignition, freshly rebuilt Datsun B210 5 speed transmission, all new wiring and electrics,s heavy duty alternator and starter, electric cooling fans, heavy duty radiator. Stainless steel exhaust, Kenwood AM/FM/SAT, ammeter added under dash, SS door sills, footwell lights, Walnut dash and wood steering wheel, new top and boot cover, and.......... Wire wheels, all brakes and suspension redone, back up solid state fuel pump, battery cut off switch, external jumper terminals for the battery, new Aeroquip lines to the oil cooler, hopefully the photos do justice to the degree of detail that went into preparing this car. AND,,.....of course, we can add modern air conditioning, a powerful supplemental heater, and even one of our profession chrome bumper conversions. We can really offer a 37 year old classic English sports car as an alternative to a contemporary sports car. This car is truly a gem, just in and ready to drive anywhere.
A beautiful example, just finished extensive prep work. Rebuilt engine, high compression pistons, all new valves and guides, balanced, new 32/36 DGV Weber carb, racing headers, excellent power and perfect running. 4 speed transmission with overdrive......5th gear. Just finished a complete professional chrome bumper conversion, new chrome, grille, brackets, sheet metal, lights, hardware. And by eliminating the side lights, the exterior is identical to the earliest and best looking MGBs. Lowered to pre 1975 ride height, wire wheel conversion with new wheel splines, new chrome knock offs, the result is a gorgeous car. Interior has custom recovered brownish leather seats, new matching carpets, interior panels, new expensive cloth top, wood dashboard, wood steering wheel, stereo/CD, boot cover, AND new deep green GN29 acrylic paint over a perfect rust free body (which had original paint.....no damage, no bondo, no repairs). Excellent rust free floors, sills, chassis, painted and detailed engine and trunk compartments, AND all of the virtues of the later model MGBs......power assist disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, electronic ignition, thermostatically controlled electric radiator cooling fan, bigger gauges, smoother engine, stronger transmission and overdrive, better wiring and electricals, a superior car in every way. AND........we can also offer modern air conditioning and a powerful supplemental heater offering the comfort of a modern car. All of which can allow this car to be used as an alternative to a contemporary sports car....because, in a 65 mph society, all of the multi cam engines and six speed transmissions really can mean.....a bigger and nastier ticket! This car has covered 61,000 miles, very few since the engine was rebuilt (alas, the last owner died) a mere 1,500 miles a year since new. Cared for by its last owner, this beautiful MGB offers a lot of fun, low insurance rates, contemporary use and performance, and very easy maintenance.
