This 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is a terrific mix of classic features, nicely restored pieces, and well-integrated upgrades. So look over this whole coupe, because its exactly what you want in classic cruising luxury. The design lines of this generation Eldorado are ones of a legend. Its a true statement of personal luxury with the extra long hood that begins a crease line that runs uninterrupted through the doors and flows into the sporty rear kick-up. The Sable Black has been given a quality respray to keep this coupe looking timelessly elegant. It even has a half-vinyl roof to give it a terrific double-black presentation. But its more than just that paint that really gives you the classic Caddy feeling. Bright chrome bumpers, a complete and intricate grille, color-matched turbine-style wheel covers, and classic whitewalls are all part of a correct and stylish package. Plus, we know you love the little touches, like the upgraded HID headlights and how the red accenting is a preview of the interior. It looks like there has been a solid investment inside to keep the factory-correct dark red leather interior looking its best and feeling quite supple. Theres plenty of space for family and friends to spread out, but with an individual armrest and power front seats, driver really gets to dial-in an individual level of comfort. This has the kind of luxury that made these Cadillacs so special when new, and it keeps them exceptionally desirable today. So you get power windows, power locks, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, and auto-dim headlights. There are even the cool period-correct pieces on display like the Cadillac-branded CB radio. But when they invested in the interior, they also gave it a very handy upgrade. Theres now a custom-made enclosure under the dash that houses a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/XM head unit that controls modern features such as Bluetooth and the backup camera. Under the hood is a year-correct 425 cubic-inch V8, and the honest presentation of the whole engine bay makes us believe the motor is original to the car. Topped with a four-barrel carburetor, these were true torque kings of the 70s. That gave them the ability to get up from the stoplight with gusto and keep the easy cruising nature you know in a Cadillac. This driving attitude is heightened by a smooth-shifting three-speed automatic transmission, and a ride that can only come from a classic Caddy. Add in power steering and disc brakes at all four corners, and this is a classic thats capable of taking on the modern world. Great colors, classic style, and the best upgrades dont let this special Caddy slip away, call today!

1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz White fully original, this car comes fully loaded with everything except for the Moonroof. This includes more features than included on most modern cars, including the Sentinel Light system, which has automatic lights, including automatic high, and low beams. Everything works, and everything is original, nothing modified on the car. I am the second owner since the car rolled off the production line in 1978, and I have put less than 10,000 miles on her since 2012 when I purchased her. She has had regular maintenance, with all records kept, along with just receiving a new battery, tires, brakes, and recently replaced Vinyl top. She has always been garaged,or kept under a protective car cover. No rust present, and she is in good condition, except for some minor cracking on the interior leather, and minor paint chips around the vinyl top,and a few cracks on plastic trim. She runs great, and starts right up every time, drives smooth on the road, and you will barely feel the road underneath you. This was the last run of full size Eldorados, making this car a real head turner, I get compliments everywhere I go in it. I am happy provide further details per the vehicle, including information, pictures and etc. Dont hesitate to ask. We love the factory AM/FM 8-track tape with the optional installed Clarion cassette player! Seen in this car, are signature interior features, which include sumptuous button-tufted contoured pillow-style seating with glove-soft red leather and 50/50 dual comfort front seats. The factory dark carmine red exterior is equally as distinctive. The exclusive Cabriolet Roof is tailored in a richly textured red elk grain vinyl with French seams. The heavy padding is designed to change the lines of the car; it changes the shape and size of the rear quarter windows. It has a stylish limousine-esque rear window treatment. Special accent striping, stainless-steel moldings, color-keyed wheel discs and Biarritz scripts affixed to the rear sail panels distinctly mark it as a Cadillac special edition. The Custom Biarritz is unique, even among other Cadillacs. The present owner has spent considerable monies making this road worthy. It is ready for the next owner to enjoy. In 1978, this car had a base price of $11,921.00 and once it was equipped with the Custom Biarritz package, a further $1,865.00 would have been added to the sticker price. The optional Astroroof would have cost an extra $2,946.00 for a grand total of $16,732.00 when this car was new. This 78 Eldorado is a magnificently equipped luxury coup. Standard equipment includes: Automatic Climate Control with economy setting, power windows and door locks, six-way power seat, Soft-Ray tinted safety glass, AM/FM Signal-Seeking Stereo Radio with power antenna, quartz digital clock, and lamp monitors. This El-Dog is powered by Cadillacs 7.0 litre 16-valve, 425 CID V8 engine equipped with a Rochester 4-bbl downdraft Quadrajet carburetor. This engine produced a whopping 180 hp @ 4,000 rpm with 434 Nm (320 ft-lbs) of peak torque @ 2,000 rpm. It uses GMs Turbo Hydra-Matic THM-425 3-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels. In its day, acceleration was rated as: 0-60 mph at a blistering 13.4 seconds, 0-100 mph in 47.1 seconds with a top speed in the 112mph range. It could do the mile @ 74 mph in 19.6 seconds. It is safe to say that an Eldorado is not built for speed, but these figures are excellent for an automobile as large and solidly built as the 1978 Eldorados. Eldorados are specifically tuned to be more powerful than standard Cadillac models. The Eldorado Custom Biarritz is one of the most refined Cadillacs in the history of the brand --- virtually the definition of extravagance. A Bit of History The Cadillac Eldorado is a personal luxury car that was manufactured and marketed by Cadillac from 1952 - 2002 over ten generations. The title Eldorado was actually chosen through an internal competition to find a name for a 1952 concept vehicle which was made to commemorate Cadillacs golden anniversary. Eldorado was proposed by Mary-Ann Marini (ne Zukosky), a secretary in Cadillacs merchandising department and was subsequently adopted for a limited-edition convertible for model year 1953. The nameplate Eldorado is a contraction of two Spanish words that translate as the gilded (i.e., golden) one and also refers to El Dorado, the mythical South American Lost City of Gold that fascinated Spanish explorers so many years ago. Cadillac began using the nameplates Eldorado Seville and Eldorado Biarritz to distinguish between the hardtop and convertible models (respectively) while both were offered, from 1956 through 1960 inclusively. The Seville name was dropped when the hardtop was initially discontinued (in 1961), but the Biarritz name continued through 1964. Beginning in 1965, the Eldorado became the Fleetwood Eldorado.
