The Datsun Z cars put Japan on the performance car map, and this 1977 Datsun 280Z 2+2 tells you all you need to know about why these are such special vehicles. With an unusual copper metallic paint job, a beautifully preserved interior, and long-term ownership history, this is exactly the kind of car that you can enjoy today and let it appreciate tomorrow. The long nose styling of the Z car never seems to go out of fashion, and when combined with a sophisticated and elegant color like this, it creates a unique blend of performance and luxury that was found on cars like the Jaguar E-Type. The paint is original, and with that in mind its in fantastic shape. Not perfect, mind you, but for being 40 years old, its pretty impressive with a soft shine that is exactly what youd expect. Typical of the Japanese, the fit and alignment of the body panels are excellent, and for a car from the 70s, this one fits together amazingly well. Details like the chrome bumpers are in original condition, and their shiny surface suggests that this car has always been properly maintained. Badges, the front grille, the rear valence with distinctive Z taillights, all of it looks far younger than the cars age would suggest. The two-tone 2+2 interior gives the Z a lot more space, and while you wont want to put two adults in back for a cross-country trip, it greatly expanded the Zs practicality. The front buckets are well preserved, with no cracks or splits, and showing virtually zero wear even on the lighter surfaces. With its distinctive dashboard design, with speedo and tach in front of the driver and three auxiliary gauges mounted up high in the center, the Zs interior has been the prototype for all Japanese sports cars for decades. In this car, the dash pad, the door panels, and even the rear hatch area are exemplary, showing no signs of sun damage which is so common on these cars. A/C (needs to be serviced) and an AM/FM/cassette stereo are included, so theres no reason not to get in and have fun. Power comes from an upgraded 2.8 liter inline-six, which makes wonderful sounds akin to the great British roadsters of yore, not to mention all that turbine-smooth torque. The 280Z uses fuel injection, which looks complicated but is extremely reliable and delivers improved performance and economy. Showing signs of proper maintenance throughout its life, this Z fires up the first time every time and pulls cleanly, with a long list of recent maintenance items including the fuel pump, fuel injectors, hoses, clutch master and slave cylinder, a new muffler, and a re-sealed gas tank. The 4-speed manual transmission is wonderful to row through the gears, making this Z a fantastic car to run down your favorite twisty road. The all-independent suspension is agile, and none of its handling prowess is diminished by the added length of the 2+2 body. The original alloys are in very good condition, with no curb rash or corrosion, and they wear a set of 195/60/14 performance radials. In the same family since 1980, this very well preserved survivor is an affordable way to enjoy a vintage sports car thats also surprisingly practical. The Zs day is fast approaching, and clean examples like this one will continue to be in demand. Call today!

Hi folks,I have a 1977 280Z for sale. This was a nut and bolt restoration that was ongoing for about a decade. This is close to a new 280Z with all that has been replaced. When I purchased it in 2001 the drive train had been rebuilt and the suspension was modified for much higher performance than stock. I have all of the receipts for the parts purchased as well as a running picture log of all work done. I was going to list all the modifications done but that was too much to list here. It does have Wilwoods all the way around. It also has AC that works !!!It did well in the few car shows that I have entered it in and is well liked by the spectators. Please feel free to call with any questions you might have. There are no test drives but I would be happy to take interested parties for a ride. I would appreciate it if only those with serious interest in the car contact me. Ask for John. I do not answer e-mails.Vehicle Location is at our clients home and Not In Long IslandPlease Call First for location and talk to one of our reps at 516 376 3471 FREE Consignments!! I have decided to list my 280z. It has a recent restore, and recent paint job, which has been sitting inside with a car cover for about 6 months now.It is the 2.8L, 4sp manual the car originally came with. Unfortunately I dont have the time to drive it or take it to car shows like it should be, so it sits in my garage with the occasional startup.I have had everything done to this car. It has a book of receipts, dating back to when the PO bought in 1993. It was kept in Scottsdale, and came to Indiana years later. I bought it, and restored it to full running condition. Afterwards, it was sent to a paint shop, where it was meticulously worked on for a year. The body has NO rust. It was sprayed with an undercoating, all lines matched perfectly, doors fit perfectly, paint is beautiful and deep, all the way up to the roof. The sunroof was taken completely out, sandblasted, painted and returned to the car with new seals.Interior was done at the same time. Brand new full leather seats with heating elements, radio, speakers, carpet was replaced more recently, so it was removed and washed. All interior was taken out, hidden structure supports added to the roof, interior covered with rubber lining, then a 70mm(?) layer of sound deadening, with the carpet glued over. All panels were taken out, cleaned, polished back to black. The dash was cracked, but taken out and repaired, only to keep it from getting worse. I still leave the carpet cover over the dash.Motor was stripped down to the exhaust manifold, and new gaskets all the way up. Intake and valve cover painted with a hammered black / blue accents. Brakes are all new. New calipers, rotors, pads, along with new drums, springs, shoes, etc in the back. Wheels have new tires on them.Transmission hasnt been messed with, 4 sp manual. A lot of the parts on the engine are new (brake master, slave cyl, master cyl, etc). There is only a few things wrong with the car. It was sitting outdoors after a drive, where I was letting it cool before it went back into the garage, and something blew up and scratched the cowl. The main scratches were filled and painted, with NO clearcoat. There is still a small whiteish ring (quarter sized). It needs to be taken to a shop, and have the cowl repainted in the area that it was scratched. The mirrors are kind of floppy. I didnt like the way they were screwed in originally, but havent found a good solution. They arent floppy enough to fall out, but they will jiggle if you try to move them. The ebrake doesnt work. Not sure if its the cable or inside the brake drum, but should be an easy fix. AC is R12, and doesnt blow too cold, but does have enough R12 left in it to turn on. There is 2 holes in the doors for tweeters, but I havent found a set I liked yet. The wiring is already hooked up, its just a plug and place kind of deal.Everything about this car was done right. I dont need or really want to get rid of it, but Id like to see someone have a better home for it than sitting in my garage, and could give me money to fund a new project. This car is absolutely a show car, but could use a little more to really put it over the top. I havent found the time to get into it yet, but eventually everything above will be fixed. I will consider almost any trade (no trucks, no junk). I wouldnt mind another car, but if your car isnt worth this much, please be willing to add cash or more to the trade. I have cash & lots of other things I can add to a trade as well. The price on these cars are growing rapidly. Please Note The FollowingVehicle Location is at our clients home and Not In Long IslandPlease Call First for location and talk to one of our reps at 516 376 3471 FREE Consignments!! This is one of the pristine 77 Datsun 280Z you will ever see on the road. This car spent more time sitting in the garage than on the road, therefore I need someone who can appreciate this beauty, The car has less than 8K miles on it since the full engine rebuild, with the intentions of putting a turbo on it, that being said, the engine internal components installed was top of the line such as ARP studs, forged piston heads, external oil cooler, etc. The gear box has been upgraded to 5 speed from 95 Nissan 240SX with brand new ACT Clutch with less than 2kmiles on it, coupled with short throw shifter. The full straight cat back HKS exhaust sounded beautifully, 10 CD changer in the back with 2 6X9 speaker with amplifier will be loud enough when listening to your favorite music, and the was radio wastefully replaced with retro style to keep the classic interior look of the car. I installed an AUX fan for AC, did I mention AC? YES! the car still have an AC to cool you off on a hot humid days and at the same can maintain the good optimal running engine temperature while driving. Underneath the car, the 2 beams were cut and replaced with the new one and rust treated the undercarriage. I kept and took care of the car thinking I will be keeping it until I’m old and retired, but things has changed. Please feel free to contact me for more information about the car. I have all the maintenance receipts and documents since purchased from the dealership. please click below for some information about the car. https://youtu.be/aEpZ5Xp7qwM

Exterior and Interior of the car looks great. Car runs good. The odometer says 30,000 miles, however, I'm fairly confident that is 130,000 miles. Car had a complete renovation I believe in 2010. I've owned the car for 5 years, and have only put 2,000 miles on it. New Battery, Headlights, and exhaust. Fun to drive on the weekend.I need to sell, to free up space for my son, who is in the process of getting a car. $10,000 Firm
