Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this sharp 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon with tons of documentation including the original owner s manual, bill of sale, and even build sheet. For 1975, Oldsmobile added two smaller engines to attract economy-minded buyers in the aftermath of the 1973 74 energy crisis. These were the Chevrolet-built 250 cubic inches (4.1 L) inline six (previously offered from 1966 71) and a new 260 V8 based on the Olds 350 Rocket V8, which continued as an option. Also continuing was the 455 Rocket V8, rated at 190 horsepower. This sharp Cutlass has its original numbers matching 455 engine and Turbo 400 automatic transmission with just over 98k miles. All engines had catalytic converters and required unleaded gasoline in the United States; Canadian buyers could opt to delete the converter. The 75 grilles were somewhat more angular and separated into eight pieces on each side. The parking lights were now incorporated into the grille. At the rear, new two-piece taillights were divided vertically. This sharp Salon Cutlass is painted in sleek orange color with matching wheels and a white vinyl top. The tan leather interior is in great shape with minimal signs of wear. This car is the perfect daily driver that is sure to turn some heads with its sporty hood and grille design. The Cutlass line overtook the full-sized Delta 88 as the best-selling Oldsmobile line for the first time ever in 1975 with the Cutlass Supreme coupe accounting for the majority of those sales, becoming the best-selling intermediate-sized car in America by surpassing the Chevrolet Chevelle and Ford Torino for the top spot. Its a wheel-to-wheel rolling display of ultra-cool mid-70s style thats sure to turn heads. This 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst/Olds is quite a looker and its running strong. The sizable original big block under its special edition hood is still acquitting itself nicely and, considering there were so few of these special edition Oldsmobiles made, its got bona fide collectability value. Olds already established a track record with Hurst several years before this 75 saw the light of day, as the manufacturers previous offerings of Hurst components in their 442s had met with consistent success. Olds marked the midpoint of the decade by equipping this Cutlass with some distinctive styling cues, including special edition badging and gold body accents running the lengths of its sides, both of which are in very good condition. Additional aesthetic touches coming by way of this partnership include a custom hood ornament, as well as the stylish louvres gracing the long hood. There were only about 1200 Hurst Olds decked out in Cameo white ever made, and the color is well represented here, showing a nice, consistent pigmentation from front to back. Whereas previous editions had featured a semi-fastback rear roofline, the combination of the more formal shape on hand here with the color-matched T-Tops creates an effortlessly cool look while offering the benefit of open-air driving when you so choose. Climb inside and youll be surrounded by a stellar interior that will take you back in time. The special edition swiveling white bucket seats feature red accents that tie in perfectly with the dash area and carpeting below and a pair of Hurst-badged floor mats in front are yet another reference to this Olds distinctive status. Everything is looking nice and clean inside - the center console holding the Hurst dual gate shifter is in good shape and the door panels dont show much wear at all. The original steering wheel still sits on its tilting column, while just beyond it the dash area is another strong point, with clear functional gauges in its instrument cluster and a pair of woodgrain accents that appear to have been recently applied. Comfort features include air conditioning, as well as power windows and power door locks. The trunk area in back is as tidy as can be, with a full size spare and jack resting on its floor. In addition to its undeniable stylishness, this Hurst/Olds is a very solid driving classic. A sizable, numbers-matching 455 cubic inch V8 fills the engine compartment, wearing a properly badged black air cleaner over its blue block and its in great form, starting promptly and pulling with plenty of vigor as it sends a nice, deep note out of its MagnaFlow exhaust. The big block carries a Holley 4-barrel carb on top and pairs with an also original 3-speed automatic TH400 transmission thats shifting with confidence-inspiring smoothness to provide a great driving experience. Featured power steering makes this Olds easy to navigate, while power brakes with discs up front bring its set of super sharp 15 Super Stock III wheels to prompt stops. Take a look below and youll see an impressively clean undercarriage. Seldom seen on the road and undeniably stylish, this 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst/Olds is sure to fill its next owners garage with vintage mojo. Call today!
