1974 Chevrolet Nova 1974 marked the end of the beloved third generation of Novas. Production of these cars continued for over another decade but the look drastically changed as the cars started moving away from their muscle car looks. This 74 is a beautiful example of one of these Novas and is certainly among the nicest ones you will come across. The car has been entirely gone through but even prior to the build was in good shape. The car was originally sold in Dallas, TX and it is believed to have spent its entire life in the DFW area. The body is in great shape and all of the metal including the floor pans, trunk, front & rear quarters are original. The only thing requiring work was 2 small areas on the front fenders and those were minor repairs. The paint has been redone but was painted in the original Gold paint. The inner wheel wells were also painted with POR15 to keep the metal protected and in good shape for many years to come. The car is fitted with all of the original chrome and stainless pieces all of which have a great finish. Blacked out wheels are mounted under all corners and adds some toughness to the look of this muscle car. The car wears its 350 badging on the fenders but the original style 350 has been replaced with a LT1 350 along with a 4L60E automatic transmission that has less than 10,000 miles. The motor starts up well and makes the car a great driver. It has been fitted with Street & Performance ceramic coated custom short headers into an X pipe with Magnaflow stainless mufflers that deliver a great sound. The original 10 bolt rear end was sand blasted and painted with PPG PD90 paint. It has a limited slip differential with 3:42 gear ratio and the tubes were welded into the differential. The suspension has been entirely reworked as well with the sub frame disassembled, sand blasted and painted. All bushings were replaced with PST Poly Graphite Bushings and the rear leaf springs were reworked with an extra leaf and Poly Graphite Bushings as well. The car was also fitted with front (1 1/8" PST) and rear (7/8" PST) sway bars. The electrical now consists of a Painless 18 circuit wiring harness and a Street & Performance custom engine/transmission wiring harness with 4 foot extension to located the computer underneath the drivers seat. Under the rear of the car you will find the Rock Valley custom stainless steel gas tank with internal fuel pump and baffling for fuel injection. The interior is complete in a custom Beige and Brown leather with tuck and roll inserts that look great. The upholstery work is in great shape and dresses up the inside nicely. The dash has a similar layout to the original but has been upgraded with electronic Autometer gauges installed in a Covans Classic bezel. The trunk of the car is finished out with Brown carpet and houses the spare with cover. If a 74 Nova is what you are after then you are going to have a tough time finding one nicer and more solid then this one. It has been driven 750 miles since completion to work out any issues while still keeping the build fresh. Park it in your garage for only $28,600.00! BIG REDUCTION DOWN TO $18,500.00! Ah, the Chevy Nova. Say what you will, but it isnt 1983 anymore and these arent just old used cars! Many folks have fond memories of these little economy cars, whether their mother had one or if it was their first car back in the day. In fact, it makes sense that what was once an economy car has such a following; normal people could afford them! Though each generation has a completely different look, they are all recognizably a Nova. 1974 was the last year for the Novas that look halfway like muscle cars, and this example is hardly an exception! The beneficiary of a full customized build that was tastefully done to provide the power and reliability of a modern vehicle, all while keeping the original iconic look of a muscle car intact. and is offered for a price at which this car could not be built. On the outside, it looks like a fairly standard-issue hot rod Nova with the back end jacked up a little bit. However, this Nova is far from stock. Lift up the hood and youll find a customized 5.3L Ls V8 thats bolted to a 4L80E automatic. Thats right, this car might appear like a tame stock 74 with impact bumpers, but turn the key and youll instantly see how this is a perfect sleeper resto-mod. This is a cleanly swapped car and that LS engine looks right at home under the hood of this puppy. A quick look in the engine bay and youll see this isnt just a typical LS swap. Not only is everything clean and tidy, but also custom touches were done that really add a great look to the car. For instance, the chrome headers add a great look over the stock 5.3 manifolds, but also MSD coils were installed, K&N air filter, March pulley system and front power disc brakes and power steering makes this car a blast to drive. Open up the door, and itll quickly become apparent that this Nova has had some custom touches. A Momo steering wheel and custom center console (complete with cupholders!) are the most prominent features of the interior. Additionally, the gauge cluster has received a tasteful custom treatment. In place of a radio, youll find a control pad for a Bluetooth sound system connected to plenty of speakers and a subwoofer setup in the trunk. Pair it with your phone and instantly you can jam out tunes at your local car show. This Nova is a wonderful mixture of old and new technology! Overall, this car is in great condition and for the price a cooler custom Nova would be tough to find. Whoever restored it knew what they were doing as it still retains all the original sheetmetal and the original look from factory is still intact.
