It sure looks like the days of inexpensive Beetles are drawing to a close, which is probably a good thing. This cheerful red 1973 VW Super Beetle is still an economical way to join the hobby, and youll quickly find that theres a large group of folks out there who still think these are wonderful cars. Is there anything about the VW Beetle that hasnt already been said? Theres more than one reason why they have endured for decades as the worlds most popular car, and this one makes it easy to understand why theyve recently started taking off as legitimate collectables. The cheeky good looks impressive build quality all work together to make one fantastic hobby car. This Beetle has been lovingly maintained, and the fact that it has spent most of that life in a warm climate has helped. The 2013 repaint is pretty close to the original color and looks exactly right on the vintage runabout. Everything lines up neatly and the doors open and close with a precision that belies the cars affordable price tag, and while its not a show car, it still looks great. The Super Beetle offered a curved windshield, larger indicator lights, and subtly reshaped body panels, but the overall look is pure Beetle. The black interior is an excellent complement to the bright red bodywork, and the textured vinyl does a good job of keeping you cool even on warm days. The Super Beetle was upgraded inside, as well, including a more stylish instrument panel, although it still embraced the single gauge motif with the gas gauge inside the speedometer face. All the switchgear has a very no-nonsense look typical of German cars of the period and the leather-wrapped steering wheel has a substantial feel. The upholstery, carpets, and door panels are all in decent condition with very little wear (theres one small tear on the passengers seat), and it includes the original AM radio which might be due for an upgrade. The forward-mounted trunk is a little scruffy, but includes original cardboard panels to keep it tidy. The engine was rebuilt a few years ago to stock specifications, and the 1600 cc flat-four still whistles along without complaints. With just a recent tune-up and a Pertronix electronic ignition system, its an excellent runner that feels strong, especially with a 4-speed manual transmission behind it. It starts easily with that distinctive VW whistling exhaust note, and delivers adequate performance for around-town errands. It remains quite stock, from the carburetor to the generator to the air ducts, with the only visible upgrade being the chrome air cleaner. Stir the 4-speed manual properly and its entertaining to drive, thanks to a stable suspension and decent brakes, which never seem to work very hard on the lightweight VW. Its original underneath, so its not perfect, but its just about right for a car youre going to want to drive. Stock steel wheels carry chrome hubcaps and recent 165R15 wide whitewall radials that really dress the Bug up nicely. Youll probably find that everyone is your friend when you drive a Beetle, and the way the market is moving, they wont be this affordable for much longer. Call today!
Doesnt this little VW Veep-Jeep look like too much fun? It could be your personal little attention getter for the street or it could make a perfect toy at a beach or lake house or even a shuttle for festivals or a business that needs to run back and forth around a big facility. When people see this Veep coming with the Teal and White paint and the Teal and White fringe edged canopy, they cant help but smile. It looks like its ready to cruise down to the dock to pick someone up or maybe cruise around a gated community. The windshield can be folded down for an even more open feeling and the canopy frame provides nice hand holds for getting in and out or for keeping your balance when everyone has piled on for the ride to down to the party. New mirrors and hood pins add a splash of flash to the look and you will find a lockable storage box up front under the hood. Steel wheels painted body color with large polished hubcaps and wide white wall tires perfectly compliment and complete the look. Go ahead, step on into it, there are no doors. It doesnt get much more basic or simple than this. There is a small black steering wheel which is thickly padded and feels good in your hands and the shifter for the manual transmission is just a flick of the wrist to the right. The windshield has Veep lettering in the center and also has separate windshield wiper motors instead of linkages. There is a white instrument panel in the center with the speedometer as well as engine gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, voltage and fuel, and all the way off to the right is a nice little glovebox. Back seat passengers can settle onto the bench that is striped in blue and white vinyl just like the front seats, and hang on to the cooler or each other for the ride. Being based on VW bug running gear means several things. For one, the 1600 CC motor is in the back behind the tailgate. It is simple and reliable and when you do want some service done, it is easy to find people who are familiar with them and they are easy to get parts for it. This one has just had a recent tune-up with fresh plugs, cap and wires as well as a new alternator belt so no worries there for a while. Being air cooled means that you dont have to worry about liquid coolant freezing if you leave it in storage over a cold winter and there certainly arent any computers to drain the battery down while it sits. A torsion bar front suspension and air shocks in the rear along with those wide white wall tires that are 5.60-15s make this light little vehicle fun to drive. This Veep is cute, fun, and brings a smile to everyones face when you drive it. Come on down and check it out. You might just realize that you really need a vehicle like this!

The Volkswagen Beetle has grown a huge following from many different groups of automotive enthusiasts from hot rodders to hippies these cars have been adored for generations! This 1973 Super Beetle has been well maintained over the years and a recent restoration to bring it back to its former glory. In 2014 the car was stripped down, sand blasted, and put back together piece by piece using new screws and gaskets. The fenders were all replaced with new ones and the whole body was treated with an anti-rust coating and then painted over with a gorgeous two-tone orange and black color combination. Inside the Super Beetle all the panels were lined with Dynomat to reduce road noise and limit vibrations. The floors were then covered in new carpets, reupholstered 1973 rear seat reinstalled, and new Corveau sport seats installed up front. The rare black headliner was installed and all of the sunroof components were refurbished. Overall the interior looks great and is very comfortable even on a longer drive! Another subtle change to this Beetle includes the more sought after 1960 s front and rear bumpers that really set the look of this car off right. There were some big differences between the Beetle and the Super Beetle especially in 1973. These included a superior front suspension with spring instead of the torsion bars, the body was extended 2 over the regular Beetle, and the windshield was curved for less wind resistance. These upgrades made a dramatic difference in the ride quality and performance of the beetle and are a ton of fun to drive! The 1600cc air-cooled engine is plenty of powerful and paired with the 4-speed manual transmission adding to the sporty feel. This Super Beetle is a great car for someone looking for a weekend cruiser or something to take down to the local car show. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle The need for a peoples car (Volkswagen in German), its concept and its functional objectives, was formulated by the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, who wanted a cheap, simple car to be mass-produced for his countrys new road network. Lead engineer Ferdinand Porsche and his team took until 1938 to finalize the design. The result was the first Volkswagen, and one of the first rear-engined cars since the Brass Era. With 21,529,464 produced, the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single platform ever made. This very nicely restored 1973 Super Beetle, consists of all good solid steel, a 2,000-mile rebuilt engine, and new paint. A driver for someone who wants a very affordable classic. Exterior Dupont 905 Yellow in good condition make up the exterior surfaces. Bug running boards connect the fenders, which show 1973 turn signals attached to the front fenders and elephant print brake/backup/turn signal cluster lights attached to the back. All badging, window surrounds and lighting bezels are in good plus condition. The rear window appears to be tinted. Standard steel wheels and VW dish chromed caps are all around. Interior Shiny vinyl bucket bolsters, with slightly faded cloth inserts are seen in front and carried over to a rear bench seat. Black carpeting covers the floor around the seats and gearshift area. A screaming yellow gear shift knob mimics the exterior. The dash and door panels appear original and are in good condition with no cracks or fading. The Wolfsburg castle logo is in the center of the steering wheel fronting the dash. Installed is an aftermarket radio with AM/FM/CD capabilities. Peeking upward reveals a nice headliner in contrasting white. Drivetrain A 1600cc 48hp horizontally opposed, air cooled, carbureted engine couples with a 4-speed manual transmission. The rear mounted power plant sports dual exhaust with chrome exhaust tips. Engine bay has been meticulously finished and detailed. Undercarriage Front suspension is MacPherson strut, and rear is independent. Scanning the underside, the viewer can see little to no rust, surface or otherwise, a clean and pristine floorplan, and 4-wheel drum brakes. Also noted is no dripping from the engine or transmission areas. An overall good condition repainted exterior, rebuilt engine, daily driver if you will, and still classic!
