For sale in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is this elegant and highly sought after 1973 Mercedes Benz 450SL. Since 1954 Mercedes Benz produced the SL = Sports Lightweight series. The one we have for sale in our South Florida showroom is in great condition. Only up until 1973 did Mercedes deliver the W107 series with small European bumpers to the United States and this style looks so much better. This 450SL looks as good as they come, and it even drives better. It is so nice to drive the car. There are no squeaks or rattles. The A/C pumps out cold air and the old Becker radio still plays the tunes. The powerful 4.5L engine runs like a champ and the transmission shifts through all gears with ease. The paint presents itself in beautiful condition on a great body. The body lines up beautifully. Open the door and you will find a clean and amazing interior. No cracks in the dash or rips in the leather seats. The soft top looks like brand new and the 450SL also comes with the hardtop. If you are looking for an early W107 Mercedes Benz 450SL this is the one you want to have. It will look great in your garage. Take good care of the car like the previous owner and you will enjoy the car for another 45 years without a problem. The car comes with its Owner Manual, Maintenance Booklet and other documentation. Its time to look retro, sophisticated, cool, and unique - all for under $20K. This 1973 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is a powerful and beautiful droptop that will get you attention immediately upon arrival. A Mercedes is great for vintage style, and so this shade of yellow seems quite appropriate. Many of these convertibles are trying to be more modern with resprays to black and red, which makes this factory-correct hue a really nice way to stand out without being ostentatious. And beyond just a bold color, no other convertible from this era has the build quality you experience every time the solid door makes its reassuring thunk. This Benz looks great with either the matching hardtop or the well-coordinated black folding roof. And speaking of great appearances, 1973 was the final year before the largest bumper laws were enacted. So these chrome pieces hug the SLs contours better than later US-bound cars. If you like the way this one looks with the black soft top up, then youll love it even more with the black interior. The seats have been re-covered to have durable vinyl in the high traffic areas and comfortable cloth for where you sit. That sounds like the kind of convertible that you can hop in at any time even when youre wearing shorts. Plus, the air conditioning is there to always keep you nice and cool. This is a true luxury cruiser so you get enjoyable features like power windows, and Mercedes fans will be quite happy that the Becker AM/FM radio is still in place and cranking out the tunes. The 450 SL carried one of Mercedes-Benzs largest engines during its era, and so when you pop the hood, the engine bay looks like its overflowing with V8 power. The 4.5-liter SOHC motor with Bosch fuel injection is legendary for its durability and smoothness, not to mention a friendly, torquey attitude. This is a sports car for cruising, and Mercedes was a bit more concerned with engine refinement than all-out acceleration. So while this one is not out to give the pined-you-to-you-seat experience, it will always provide a polished and confident drive well above highway speeds. On the road, an R107 has a fully independent chassis that is the perfect balance of elastic comfort in a tight-handling package. This was topped off with power steering, three-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes for the best all-around control. The full driving experience lets you know that the Mercedes SL is in a class all of its own. The sale comes complete with the original warranty card, owners manual packet, and other paperwork. This early R107 Mercedes SL is a great example of a handsome classic that is a lot of fun to drive. Who knew this kind of distinction could also be so affordable? Call today!!!
We attend Ocean Reef Club Vintage Weekend to appreciate classic automobiles as well as vintage boats and aircraft. You need to look back every now and then in order to see where the road ahead will lead us.

This car has been my pride and joy since 2012 when I moved back to the USA and bought it in Oklahoma from a small town lawyer who had a collection of immaculately maintained vehicles. Since then I have driven it down to Texas without any issues and used it for a couple of years as a daily driver. I let it sit outside for a couple of Texas summers and as a result the dash has a couple of minor cracks and the trunk floor board and behind the passenger seat floor board have minor rust (seen in pictures). This I have been told is easily removed and does not impact the integrity of the car. The car continues to run very well and has no mechanical issues to my knowledge. I was in a minor accident with the car in 2015 in which the right front fender was damaged. As a result my insurance totaled the car and it now has a "rebuilt salvage" title. I have dropped my asking price to reflect this. The repairs from the accident were undertaken by a local expert and there is no detectable difference between the right and left fenders. This is a convertible with a replacement soft top (black) and a well maintained all original hard top. The soft top has a few tears in it and should be replaced soon, although I still use it without any problems for short periods of time. There is also a tear in the drivers seat. This causes no discomfort for the driver, but for aesthetic reasons should be repaired eventually. The car drives beautifully and is very powerful. The AC was working when I bought it but I have let the coolant run out and have not tried to refill it. Its 1970s AC so even under best working conditions I prefer just to roll down the windows or pull the top down and enjoy the outside air. I have replaced the struts and the sub frame mounting for better handling and I have also maintained it very well over the years with receipts from my maintenance and from previous owner as well. Original interior. Original Manuals. This paint job was done by previous owner. Signs of minor discoloration in one spot on the hood. (shown in picture). This 1973 Mercedes still has the original European bumpers and rear view mirrors, much smaller and more attractive than the later versions. Message for more info.
