The original color according to the data tag on the was a brownish red (2B). The Cougar has been repainted in beautiful Gold (color code 2415). Under the hood is the factory 351 Cleveland V8. The engine has been updated with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, Edelbrock Carburetor, Chrome Valve Covers, Chrome Breather and a K&N reusable air filter. The alternator now has a chrome case as well which really dresses up the engine compartment. Most likely this Cougar has attended a few car shows with the level of cleanliness it has. Inside the black interior is in great shape and looks to have judging by just how crisp everything is. The odometer has 4802 on it but the current owner cannot confirm if it is actual. All anyone really needs to know is this Cougar had been meticulously kept up and is just simply drop dead gorgeous! The black vinyl power top is in very good shape. With the push of a button, the top raises or lowers with ease. The black vinyl interior looks to be in excellent shape with no rip or tears. The black top looks to be in great shape. At the flip of a button, the top will go up or down. The current owner has owned this drop top pony for 1 year and he has a folder full of receipts for it. The body is finished in Dark Green Metallic and according to the provided deluxe Martini Report, the car was produced in Dearborn and was delivered on 08/12/1972. Other important features of this car include the 351cid Cobra Jet V8 engine with 4bbl carburetor. It was factory rated at 266 net horsepower. It is mated to a C-6 Cruise-O-matic transmission and the 3.25 rear axle ratio. The body is in nice shape. Overall the paint is nice, with good gloss but some imperfections. Chrome trim is decent and the car is one of just 549 convertibles ordered with factory wire wheel covers in 1972. The tan power convertible top with glass rear window is in good condition and the car also factory badging throughout. The interior is Medium Ginger and has front leather bucket seats that are in good shape but have the usual amounts of wear. The dash is very clean with no cracks and the wood look trim is nice. A wrapped steering wheel is present, as is a newer Sony stereo system.The Martini Report claims that just 110 convertibles were ordered in this color configuration, making them quite rare. Other notable options include power steering, tilt wheel, power front disc brakes, air conditioning, AM radio, center console, tinte glass, appearance protection groupe, and belt radial tires. A rare and understated vehicle, it comes with two keys, paperwork and an assortment of spare parts.
