I bought this car a couple of years ago. A friend in high school had a 71 GTO and this was as close as I could get to "the glory days". To be honest, I have just kinda' lost interest in it. The car is by no means a show winner. This car is not original either, I guess you could call it a "resto mod". I am going to lose my butt on this car, but you know how that goes, never get back what you put into it. It still needs some things, but if you put just a little more into it, this will be one hell of a car. Over all (including what I paid for the car originally) I have spent around 23K, so 18k isn't a bad price. Okay, so I will list as much of the new stuff as I can remember, but I know there is more that I have forgotten. 1. Replaced original 350 with a 455. (This engine is slightly built). I was told by the gentleman that installed this engine that it is a fresh rebuild, but cannot prove it. (long story, can tell you if you have time).2. Installed new Holley Sniper Electric Fuel Injection system (throttle body)3. Replaced original Turbo 350 tranny with rebuilt TH400.4. New 4 core aluminum radiator5. New dual electric fans6. All new wiring (front to back, Painless wiring kit)7. New battery8. All new front end bushing kit from Performance Suspension (replaced one A Arm)9. Installed a quick ratio steering box11. New MSD Ignition system12. New Pypes Exaust system (front to back)13. New windshield wiper motor w/pump14. New brake booster w/reservoir15. New 4 wheel disc brake conversion kit16. Removed original center console and shifter and installed new B&M Zgate shifter.17. New rear shocks18. This car had a 1969 dash installed, removed it an installed a 1970 dash. I put a new dash cover on.19. The original gauges were removed and all new gauges were installed (speedo, tach, oil press, temp, fuel level, volt)20. New tail lenses21. Dropped the fuel tank and installed new fuel level sending unit.22. The original mechanical fuel pump was removed when I installed the EFI kit, new electric fuel pump installed.23. New drive shaft (due to TH400 install).Like I said, I am sure I missed some things. The engine will need a good timing job put on it. It runs great if you ease your foot into it, but sputters if you jump on it. I am sure it's a timing issue, just haven't got around to it. It needs an alignment now that the front end bushing kit has been installed. It needs new tires (was waiting until the front end was redone). I have changed the rear end fluid out. I planned on changing the hood out for a GTO hood, but didn't get to it (I don't particularly care for the hood that was put on it, think this style looks good on a Chevelle, but not a LeMans, but to each their own I guess). The visors need to be replaced or redone. The headliner is okay, but should be replaced. I haven't reinstalled the lap belts, but have them. I have a new glove box that needs to be installed. This car originally had A/C, but has been removed. Any way we can talk more about the car if you are interested, I'm an honest guy and won't B.S. you about the car, All of the original parts (other than engine and tranny) will be included with the car. Like I said I just kinda' lost interest in it. I will post a lot more pics this weekend once it warms up a little, it's sitting in my garage witch is dark and cold LOL. Thanks for reading. This might not be the one you are looking for, but I hope you do find the one you are looking for. I might take a 16'-20' enclosed trailer, or an evo FXR as partial trade + cash.
