Lots of horsepower and lots of eyeball appeal, this low ownership 1970 Corvette roadster delivers. Packing a strong-running rebuilt small block and a great paint job, this is a Sting Ray that neatly balances style, performance, and desirability. Forget trailer queens, this is a car you wont be able to resist on the road. Restored using its original Monza Red, theres just nothing like a bright red Sting Ray ragtop to attract attention. I dont care who you are or where you go, theres just no way youll be missed in this car. The bodywork is quite straight, the paint is fresh (approximately 6 years old), glossy, and deep, and it has that look of a Corvette that has been enjoyed, but never abused. The way the light plays over those voluptuous fenders in an unbroken curve is proof that someone invested a good amount of time getting everything straight, and the smooth, shiny finish is evidence of excellent care since the restoration was completed. The headlights pop up without hesitation and the rear deck fits well, making the top disappear seamlessly. Bright chrome bumpers add some jewelry, along with the new-for-1970 egg crate grills up front and on the front fenders, and big, rectangular exhaust tips strongly suggest that theres some serious blasting powder under the hood. Code 407 red vinyl bucket seat covers have been recently installed and combined with 1970s newly contoured buckets that offered improved lateral support, they hold you in place better than before. The seats remain in excellent condition, giving the interior a welcoming, casual look that says, Lets go for a ride! Slide behind the wheel and your hand falls naturally to the center consoles automatic shifter, and as your eyes roam over the interior, you notice details like the AM/FM radio fiber-optic lamp monitoring system, and the spec plaque right there on the console. The gauges are in great condition like the rest of the interior, with the tach showing a correct 5500 RPM redline and all the auxiliary gauges (sans the clock) work like they should. Overhead, theres a black convertible top thats very nice and a color-matched removable hardtop is included with the car. The engine is a very strong, rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8, put together back to factory specs in 2005. It is very clean and dressed for show, and it looks like a performance engine bathed in Chevy Orange paint with finned valve covers and correct chrome air cleaner and ignition shielding. The intake and carburetor are also original to this C3 and certainly help bolster the originality, and even the factory A/C system looks tidy, although it will require a service. Power steering allows for better handling on the road, and a disc brake at every corner is a C3 standard. Underneath, its quite clean, with satin black floors and a dual exhaust system that bellows that unmistakable Corvette rumble. For a correct look, it rolls on Rallys wearing 225/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A performance radials with plenty of life left. For a Corvette thats built to drive, this bright red convertible hits a lot of high notes and offers an interesting pedigree. Owned by the same enthusiast since 1979, this Southern roadster only has 70,552 actual miles, so it has plenty of decades of top-down fun left in it. Is it not time you finally stopped watching from the sidelines and got into the hobby? Call today!

This is a really sharp looking Corvette! Exceptionally nice inside and out. The body has an excellent fit and finish. I think the gaps are perfect. The paint is so slick it almost looks like polished aluminum. Jambs are slick. The bumpers, emblems and trim look new. New windshield and weatherstrips. Beautiful set of polished aluminum wheels on BFG tires. Interior was just restored and is very tidy. New upholstery and carpet. Dash area, door panels are excellent. Nice upgraded leather wheel. Mechanics: Brand new rebuilt motor, it is actually being rebuilt as I write this. There is a folder stuffed with receipts from previous owner. Just recently several thousand dollars were just spent going through the car getting it dialed in. Brakes- new rear calipers and pads, booster, master and parking brake system. Other misc-headlight door actuator, rear wheel bearings, wiper motor, misc bulbs, vacuum hoses etc. These cars are hot and this really is one of the nicest I have seen. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1970 Chevrolet Corvette for your consideration. Finished in yellow with black striped exterior and black vinyl interior a very nice color combination. Under the hood rests a Chevy small block 350ci V8 with an automatic transmission attached. Equipped front and rear disk brakes, heater, power steering, mild cam and heads. Great weekend cruiser, drives and shifts smooth. Please call or email us today for more information on this great 70 Chevy Corvette. In 1970, fender flares were designed into the body contours to reduce wheel-thrown debris damage. New were egg-crate grills with matching front fender side vents and larger squared front directional lamps. The previously round dual exhaust outlets were made larger and rectangular in shape. Interiors were tweaked with redesigned seats and a new deluxe interior option combined wood-grain wood accents and higher-spec carpeting with leather seat surfaces. Positraction rear axle, tinted glass, and a wide-ratio 4-speed manual transmission were now standard. The 350ci base engine remained at 300 hp and the L46 was again offered as a 350hp high performance upgrade. New was the LT-1, a 350ci small-block V8 engine delivering a factory rated 370 hp. It was a solid lifter motor featuring a forged steel crankshaft, 4-bolt main block, 11:1 compression ratio, impact extruded pistons, high-lift camshaft, low-restriction exhaust, aluminum intake manifold, 4-barrel carburetor, and finned aluminum rocker covers. The new engine, making up less than 8% of production, could not be ordered with air conditioning but was fitted with a domed hood adorned with LT-1 decals. To see over 80 photos of the car, including under carriage please visit our website www.grautogallery.com
1970 Chevrolet Corvette Drag Car Say Corvette and immediately one harkens back to the 1960s and 1970s when the Corvette was in its heyday with design, and power going through several iterations. It was not uncommon to snag one of these examples, and with a need for speed, modify it for the strip. Since the invention of the automobile, some tinkerer, shade tree mechanic, or custom shop has been trying to make it go faster. This 1970 straight liner has been modified to run down the 1/4 mile and make a very specific time. It has been outfitted with the tools to do so, for timing and safety. Consigner states the car is available as is, or can be purchased without motor and tranny, and the original seats, dash, steering wheel, and core support is available. Exterior A 1973 Fiberglass front end for better aerodynamics, and a daunting hood scoop. The original 1970 rear has been modified to accommodate a racing fuel cell. All wrapped up in racing red, with a massive black center stripe, which runs from bow to stern, and covers the back-lighting area. On the rear are deep dish aluminum racing wheels wrapped by Goodyear drag slicks (32 x 14s) and in front Moroso Drag Special small tires frame shallow dish aluminum wheels. Interior A complete redux to shed weight, and help with obtaining a low ET, is seen in the interior. All wrapped in a frame mounted roll cage, the dash, and any comforts have been stripped, and replaced with fabricated aluminum. This houses essential gauges on the vertical console, as well as replaces the dash, that retails a machined bow tie logo. A racing Cheetah SCS shifter is seen and racing seats are flanked by 3-point harnesses and a window net. Drivetrain A big block 427ci Chevy bored .30 over, with Crower Cams, and a bolted on Powerglide with 400 Turbo Torque Converter with a 5000 stall. Also, a 2 step Biden Bear Throttle stop and timer has been added. All this power is thrown rearward to a Dana 60 Rear with 4:88 gear ratio and a Summers Spool. New master cylinder and calipers have been put on as well. As mentioned the original seats, dash steering wheel and core support are available if interested. The quarter mile calls, and this car has an answer. Well thought out and constructed to perform within a specific bracket of time, consistently. Great performance, and great looking exterior will create the red and black blur, and push you into your seat..a lot!

Its a great example of the Corvettes inspired third generation design, with sweeping curves and a futuristic appearance coming by way of the pivotal Mako Shark II concept car that debuted a half decade before its release. This 1970 Chevrolet Corvette 454 harbors a strong big block under its cowl hood and stands ready to provide a true classic driving experience for its next lucky owner thats truly hard to come by. Not too many automotive designs withstand the test of time so well that they remain virtually unchanged over the course of 15 years, but Chevy knew they had a winner on their hands with their third generation Corvette due to the glowing reaction on the car show circuit when it was revealed in the mid 60s. As the years went by, they wisely chose to leave far more than good enough alone and make only subtle changes year over year. The long hood, flowing curvature and gill-like side vents are still what many aficionados picture as design elements of the quintessential Vette. While the striking red paint is a bit older and shows some age and signs of being driven it is still very respectable for a car thats meant to be driven and the side pipes and side grills have been freshly powder coated and provide a great contrasting color. The curb appeal is undeniable! Its body alignment is on point, with doors and hood that fit flush and open and shut smoothly. Two of the defining features of its generation are at their best here: the hideaway headlights raise and lower on cue - aided by a newly added vacuum canisters - and the removable T-tops that allow you to enjoy open air motoring whenever you choose seal well and look great. Inside the doors, the black leather interior shows all the style Corvettes of this era were known for and is in strong condition. You wont find any tearing on the covers of the high-backed bucket seats, and the center console sitting between them, as well as the door panels to each side, also present well. The factory issue steering wheel sits on a tilting column and while its leather cover could stand to be replaced, if you check out the dash area in front of it youll see that the factory gauges in the instrument cluster, as well as the assortment of displays just to the right, are still easily readable. The working factory AM/FM Cassette still resides in the center console and while this was originally an A/C car, those parts have been removed and are now boxed up to go along with the car. As the cowl hood would indicate, a serious powerplant sits inside the engine compartment in the form of a 454 cubic inch V8 that was Chevys go-to big block for quite some time, and its finely dressed with its chrome air cleaner and valve covers. It sounds just as good as it looks as it exhales into the long tube headers leading to those newly finished side pipes and, considering its substantial displacement teams with a Holley 4-barrel carb, Mallory distributor and MSD ignition, its got the bite to back up its bark. With a smooth shifting 4-speed manual transmission as well as both power steering and power disc brakes on board, this Vette offers a great hands on motoring experience, navigates easily and comes to dependable, fade free stops on its 15 stock Corvette wheels outfitted with BF Goodrich T/A radials. A look below reveals a strong-looking undercarriage, with solid floor pans and straight suspension components. This 1970 Chevrolet Corvette 454 offers a chance to own one of the most beloved cars ever to roll off an American assembly line. Call today!
