1970 Buick Gran Sport GS455 Convertible 3spd Hurst. If you are a muscle car guy, then you know that this car is very rare and bad ass. Car is a solid 2+. I dont care for trailer queens and take her out for a ride at least once a week. Turns heads everywhere and runs incredibly strong. The car is burnished saddle with like interior and a sandalwood convertible top. I understand that it is 1 of only 18 GS455s that had the 3 speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. Very clean numbers matching engine, transmission, carburetor and rear end. I have the original owners manual, protect-o-plate, vehicle warranty, laminated window stickers, GS Historical docs and title history. All bright work is in great shape. I have original Buick 14x7 rims with the Goodyear G70 tires in great condition. I currently am running the 15x8 torque thrusters with radial tires. New 2 1/2 Flowmaster Series 40 exhaust makes her sound mean. There is no A/C and manual steering can be easily changed to power steering.
1970 Buick GS455 Starting in 1965 the Gran Sport name was applied to several high performance cars created by Buick. What was interesting about this marquee is in the GM line Buick was only surpassed by Cadillac when it came to comfort and luxury features. Cadillac however was not creating performance models which left this performance luxury hybrid combo wide open and the Buick Gran Sport was the answer. This 70 Buick GS455 is a great looking car that has undergone a complete frame off restoration. Everything on it from front to back is in like new condition. It is the type of car where even if a novice were to look at it with zero history or specs they would be able to tell it is a high quality restoration. It was professionally done as a Stage 1. The original Stage 1 cars were actually the source of a big controversy in the 80s when they were listed as faster than any Chrysler Hemi cars on the 50 fastest muscle car list. It has been a source of debate for many years and we dont know the answer but it is definitely a powerful American muscle car. The body is very straight and painted in a bright red paint that has a great finish. All of the chrome and stainless is in place and in excellent condition. There really isnt a weak area anywhere on this car. It rides on the factory style wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. Pop the scooped hood and you will see the nicely built 455 V8 motor that gets those tires spinning. Everything was done with the factory look in mind so everything has been cleanly finished out. The engine runs strong and smooth. It is backed by an automatic transmission that shifts smoothly. The car comes complete with power brakes, power steering and air conditioning all of which makes it a very comfortable muscle car to cruise around in. The underside is just as nice as the top side with a lot of attention being paid to all the details. The interior is done in Black and the upholstery is in great condition. It has dual bucket seats with headrests up front that sit to each side of the factory center console. The console provides a little extra storage space as well as houses the horseshoe shifter. Everything has that stock appearance from the AM/FM radio, to the original style gauges, knobs and switches. The odometer indicates 700 miles have been put on it since it was finished. The restoration is very fresh and the car looks like it just rolled off the factory line. You dont see a lot of the Buick muscle cars out on the road and when you do is isnt often that they are as nice as this one. If the Gran Sports are what you are into then do yourself a favor and check this one out in person. You wont have any regrets. Give this freshly restored GS455 a new home for $49,750.00!

Let me let you in on a little secret that the Buick faithful already know - The 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 is a ridiculously fast Muscle Car. How fast? Well, In 1984, a little known magazine called Muscle Car Review published a story documenting the fastest 50 muscle cars of all time. This wasnt a road test, this wasnt vehicles they prepared, no nothing like that. Instead, they published 1/4mile times from sources when the cars were brand new. Little did they know, but #3 on the list was going to start a debate that 34 years later still rages on. on the list was the 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 that clocked a quarter mile time of 13.38 at 105mph. Only two vehicles, a 1966 427 Corvette and the famed 1966 Shelby Cobra did it faster. The MOPAR faithful were furious, This meant that a Buick was faster than a HEMI Cuda, Hemi Challenger, Hemi Charger and for what its worth a 70 LS6 454 Chevelle SS. A few months later the magazine lined up the two infamous muscle cars at the first annual Super Car Shootout where the results were the same, The Buick outran the Hemi in 2 out of the 3 passes. The authenticity of that race and those cars are debated, But it didnt matter, the best kept secret in the muscle car industry was out of the bag - these Buicks were grossly underestimated from factory and capable of competing with the biggest names from the era. Now the bad news, a real Buick GS 455 Stage 1 regardless of year, is a RARE car! Add a convertible to the mix and now youve got one of the rarest muscle cars of all time. In fact, only 232 real 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 convertibles were built in 1970. This gorgeous 70 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 Clone is obviously not one of those rare cars. If it was, it would easily be $100k car. Originally leaving the factory as a 1970 Buick Skylark Custom, today it sits as a Stage 1 clone that you dont have to feel guilty about taking out on the open road. If you are hunting that drop top that packs a punch and looks killer doing it, then this is the car for you. The gorgeous red paint is accented by a wrap around black stripe, correct GS 455 Stage 1 badging and the correct functional ram air hood. The body lines are very good and the paint quality shows very well. Its not so clean that you arent going to want to drive it, but still nice enough to win awards at your local shows. Inside the engine bay youll find a 455ci V8 with the correct GS 455 ram air filter with Stage 1 badging. The engine fires up very easily and has a great sound thanks to a new exhaust. The engine dates to 1972, with a 1238861 casting number and the correct 455 cast in the block. Highly detailed and very authentic, this Buicks engine bay is NICE! Inside, youll find that starting with a skylark wasnt necessarily a bad thing because now we have power windows, power locks, tilt, A/C, power steering, power brakes and best of all, all functional. The interior shows little to no wear and with the power top down, its a great place to enjoy the summer in. Dont miss your chance to own this rare car! Call Today! DOES IT WORK?
