Paying tribute to the legendary cars of Don Yenko is fun. He took a select few Chevrolets to a level of performance that earned him a very well-deserved reputation. But he only built a precious few of them. With the Chevelle, he only built 99. You can imagine what an original would cost to buy now, or fix if you actually drove it and something happened. So, check out this nicely done tribute that looks great, runs strong, and that you dont have to be afraid to drive. The second generation Chevelle received an all new, sculpted body with a long hood that tapers down in the front and a high rear quarter panels that present a very muscular look. It is considered by many to be the best-looking muscle car of all time. So, take that good-looking body and spend some time making sure the long curving lines are smooth and clean and that the panels line up properly with consistent gaps before you lay on a drop of paint. Then coat it in Orange and dress it up with black SYC stripes on the hood and down the side of the car. Trim it out with chrome around the SS grill up front, underline that with a nice shiny bumper, add some more chrome around the fender wells and rocker panels, and finish it off with a set of awesome Riddler wheels, and you have one sweet looking Yenko tribute that will attract attention no matter where you take it. Open the door and you will find a Black interior that is stock, simple and clean. The door panel itself has a pattern of horizontal lines with a Malibu badge in the center. The split bench seat has been nicely recovered in pleated vinyl and is a comfortable place to travel. However, if you are going to cut this car loose, you might want to hold on tight to the late model 4-spoke steering wheel which feels good in your hands and has a bowtie center button. Behind it are two big round gauges with the speedo on the left and the engine gauges on the right. Just down to the right on the floor is the Hurst shifter for the manual transmission that is just begging to be run through the gears. There is an FM/Cassette deck for your listening pleasure and plenty of room in the back seat for your friends to join you on cruise nights or a road trip. Pop the hood and you find a healthy 350 cubic inch motor resting down in a neat and clean engine bay. A chrome K&N air filter assembly looks good sitting on top of a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. A stock intake, heads and block are nicely painted in Chevrolet Orange and chrome valve covers add a little splash of flash. Long tube headers wind their way out the bottom and back to dual Flowmaster mufflers and give the car a nice healthy sound in the process. Power flows back through the 4-speed manual trans to the rear axle mounted on coil springs and located by trailing arms. Up front, control arms and coil springs keep things under control with the help of the power steering and a beefy front sway bar. Front disc brakes provide good stopping ability if you decide to let the horses run and the rubber meets the road through 245/45R17s all around mounted on those sweet looking Riddler wheels. Orange and Black is a great color combination no matter what car its on. When the black says Yenko Super Car, its even better. Come on down and check this car out. Its fun to drive a Tribute car.
Burgundy and Black work real well on the classic lines of this Chevelle. Its also been built real well with an attention to detail and quality of workmanship that shines through on the outside, inside and even underneath. It looks like the very idea of a vinyl roof was created for this particular car. The chrome tracing the side window frames from the top of the windshield to the point where it reverses direction arcing up and over the rear fender highlights the smooth flow of the lower body from front to rear. The rich Burgundy color is perfect and is complimented by a black pinstripe down the side. Up front an SS 396 badge leads the way in the center of a black grill with three chrome bars and quad headlights underlined by nice chrome bumper. The hood flows back into twin power bulges with grills at the base of the windshield. Chrome trims out the wheel wells and there is a blacked-out panel between the taillights with another SS 396 badge, underlined by another sharp looking bumper with a couple exhaust tips peeking out from underneath it. Open the door and you will find a pretty simple Black interior that is in very good condition. The door panel has a pattern of horizontal lines embossed into it with thin chrome piping edging things out and an SS 396 at the center top. The bucket seats are sweet reupholstered in vertical pleats and two textures of vinyl with 396 Super Sport embroidered into the headrest. That same look as well as the embroidery is echoed in the back seat as well. A wrapped three-spoke wheel has racing flags on the center button and sits on a tilt column in front of a stock dash. The center console holds the horseshoe shifter for the automatic transmission as well as having a bit of handy storage. One more SS 396 appears discreetly on the dash in front of the passenger with a tight headliner and sharp carpets tying the look together nicely. Open the hood and you will find a healthy 396 motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. There is a chrome Edelbrock air filter assembly as well as chrome valve covers and alternator adding their splash of flash to this engine. Under that air filter is a single plane intake manifold that mounts a Holley 4-barrel carb on an angle in order to get a more even mixture to the cylinders. Nice. Long tube headers wind out the bottom to Flowmaster mufflers which gives this car a really great sound. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic to the rear wheels sitting on coil springs and located by trailing arms. Up front, control arms and coil springs work with the power steering and a beefy sway bar to help this car handle well. Power front disc brakes assure that you can haul this thing back down from speed if you decide to let the horses run, and the rubber meets the road through 275/60R15s in the back and 215/75R15s in the front mounted on those sweet looking chrome Torque Thrust wheels. Good looking, great sounding, and fun to drive. Come on down and check out this quality build presented in awesome colors.
Those with a limited budget should consider purchasing a project vehicle as an option to entering into classic car ownership.
A 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu convertible will always make a great first impression. After all, the factory drop tops of this muscle car legend are rare. But when you can have one with proper SS tribute features, A/C interior, cool color combo, and a big block under the hood, then you know youre looking at the standout among standouts. Nothing but red and black is exactly how you want a muscle car to look, and so this has been prepared that way. The upgraded fiery paint is part of a later respray. So while its not perfect, it still has that unbeatable clear coat shine every time you take this convertible out for a cruise exactly what you want in a sunshine-friendly drop top. With the black SS stripes painted on, it makes for a fantastic coordination with the blacked-out grille, blacked-out tail panel, sporty SS wheels, and power convertible top. So this one really does know how to command attention. The form-hugging bumpers have a mirror-like shine, and it matches nicely with the half chrome covers on the headlights. Plus, the larger cowl induction hood is the perfect upgrade in aggression. With the flip of a switch, the black electric folding roof reveals a nice black interior so this drop top has a great overall appearance with the top up or down. Everyone loves to see bucket seats and a center console in a muscle machine like this, and it comes complete with the iconic horseshoe shifter. This convertible feels nice inside with the carpets, door panels, and dash all retaining their deep, dark appearance. The driver gets the factory three-spoke sports steering wheel that gives a commanding view of everything. This includes the upgraded gauge package with tach. This is a terrific cruiser with everything from an auxiliary readout trio to an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo for the best in top-down tunes. And since youll want to cruise as long as possible with the roof off, the factory air conditioning is blowing nice and cold. This is the kind of motor that will make you proud to lift the hood at car shows. The big block 396 cubic-inch V8 is exceptionally well presented with its orange block paint, shining valve covers, and cross-flags air grabber. If you look closer, you can spot useful upgrades such as, the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, new plug wires, and a new electronic ignition. The long tube headers add even more power as they also contribute to the rumble of the dual exhaust. The total power package reliably gets to the ground via a stout GM three-speed automatic transmission. Plus, control stays well in hand thanks to power steering, power brakes, and raised letter Cooper Cobra tires at all four corners. Chevrolet only built 8,950 Chevelle drop tops in 1969, making them a very rare commodity nearly a half-century later. So to find one so nicely presented with a growling V8 under the hood is the kind of treat that doesnt come around very often. Dont miss out, call today!
This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS lets you bring a performance-built 502 V8 to the streets. And its been backed up with the best of everything from a performance suspension to a six-speed stick all on this rotisserie restored hardtop. Oh yeah, its time to get excited. Its hard not to love a classic American muscle car in a speedy shade of LeMans Blue, and this certainly wears the part of the eras most potent street car. The sculpted sheet metal with a hint of front overhang, blacked-out grille, dual power bulges in the hood, fastback hardtop profile, and form-fitting chrome bumpers are all part of what makes this Chevelle coupe a legend. So while you already know there is a monster upgrade under the hood, this iconic classic respects its roots so well right down to the full-length Super Sport Stripe. In fact, not only does that white line look great, but it showcases that kind of superior sheet metal that comes from a rotisserie restored coupe that has less than 200 miles on it since completion. While this has the looks of a terrific investment in getting the classic details right, the custom 17-inch alloys are also a hint at the beast within. One look inside, and you know this has everything you want. Its great when the interior can match the exterior accents, and there was some investment here because the white vinyl is complete down to the button-top presentation in the seats. Plus, the matching door panels and headliner all have a very fresh feeling to them. But the carpeting is done in black, which means you dont even have to worry about dusting off your shoes before going for a drive. Hitting the road at a moments notice is what this Chevelle does best. The dash is focused on the driver, and so its easy access to everything from the upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo to the full AutoMeter gauge panel, including large speedo and tach. Your left hand gets a grippy Grant GT sports steering wheel, and your right one may never want to leave the Hurst shifter popping out of the center console. We all love a Chevelle with big block power, and it only gets better when someone has taken the time to give it a fresh and tidy presentation. But as much style as this engine has, youre going to love it even more for its substance. This is a huge 502 cubic-inch V8 performance crate V8. It includes go-fast goodies like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Chevy performance intake, aluminum heads, and Hooker headers. You have complete control over this monster motor and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission. Not only is it a strong gearbox, but its feeding a stout 12-bolt rear end with Positraction. In fact, take some time to look at this setup in the undercarriage photos. There youll see the overall freshness of a complete restoration with nearly no miles on it. Plus, youll also see what makes this such a great pro touring machine. The Hotchkis performance suspension w/thick sway bars front & rear, Baer vented and slotted four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, and the modern grip of BF Goodrich Comp T/As its all part of a superior power driving package. Complete with owners manual, this Chevelle offers the best of everything, so if you demand that your speed is wrapped around an iconic package, dont miss this custom muscle machine. Call now!
This one is for the true collectors. A 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 with a numbers-matching L35 big block is already a tantalizing proposition, but have you checked out the paint? They spent plenty of time restoring this rare Carolina Blue special order coupe. It even comes with the right paperwork to back up that this spent most of its documented life not too far from our showroom! Lets put aside for a moment that you can only locate only a handful of Carolina Blue cars at any given moment ensuring tantalizing rarity. Instead, just look at the blue paint on this coupe. Theres an amazing shimmer over an exceptionally crisp body, and thats no accident. The restoration was completed in 2016 and only about 500 miles put on it since, so everything still looks fantastic today. The trim tag leaves the paint code blank, which is a true symbol of a special order car. So, when you can get an iconic muscle car thats also this unique, we understand why they invested heavily in restoring this Chevelle back to day one specs. You see the quality work in the big items like the mirror-like chrome bumpers and panel gaps so good that the doors close effortlessly. And the details are all there, too. Thats why the Mag wheels have the correct SS center caps. So while 1969 is often considered the ultimate year for owning a Chevelle, having an exceptionally rare factory-prepared specialty model SS is the way to always be the king amongst all muscle car royalty. The restoration budget left plenty of room for the interior, too. The factory-correct black is a muscle car favorite, and its freshness will make you feel like you stepped back in time. Once again, the details are terrific. So youll love all the period-correct pieces from the button-top upholstery, to the AM radio still ranking out tunes. While there is plenty of room for family and friends, this Super Sport is a lot of fun even when going solo. Bucket seats, a center, console, horseshoe shifter, and the three-spoke sports steering wheel are all there to remind you the driver is king. Yes, thats the original numbers-matching big-block V8 you see in the pictures. And yes, it really does look that amazing in person. The restoration photos tell a story of a nut-n-bolt rejuvenation, and you can see the product in the engine bay that looks correct in everything from the orange on the block, to the stickers on the fan shroud, to the top of the battery. Then you look at the undercarriage photos, and we bet youre wondering if youve ever seen such a clean car before. Its the kind of freshness you get from a thorough restoration with so few miles. But even if this special Chevelle is amazingly factory fresh, features like the original TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, sway bars front & rear, and front disc brakes will mean you wont be able to resist plenty of joyrides. The sale comes with documentation like the factory buildsheet, dealer invoice, original warranty card, owners manual, maintenance records, and restoration photos to showcase how unique this Chevelle is. This is a dream car for a true collector. Dont miss what could be a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Call now!

This beautiful second-generation 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle is now available for purchase at our Saint Louis Gateway Classic Cars Showroom. BACKGROUND: The Chevrolet Chevelle is a mid-sized automobile which was produced by Chevrolet in three generations for the 1964 through 1977 model years. Part of the General Motors (GM) A-Body platform, the Chevelle was one of Chevrolets most successful nameplates. The 1969 Chevelle was billed as Americas most popular mid-size car. They showed only minor changes for 1969, led by revised front-end styling. A single chrome bar connected quad headlights (which became a familiar Chevrolet trademark with its concurrent light-duty pickup trucks) with a revised front grille, now cast in ABS plastic, and a slotted bumper held the parking lights. Taillight lenses were larger and more vertical, flowing into the quarter panels. (Source: Wikipedia) This particular 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle has been owned by the same person for the past twelve years and it was during that stewardship that this classic enjoyed a frame-off restoration, which was done by Evans Classic Car Restorations in Arnold Missouri. The restoration work included powder coating the frame and suspension, Baer brakes - four-wheel discs, rebuilt 396 engine, Posi-traction rear end, Munci transmission, aluminum radiator, 3 5.5 exhaust, Doug s headers, custom seat covers, Dakota digital gauges, Hotchkis sport suspension, and all new glass. There is nothing to dislike about the presentation or dive of this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle. It has a show car quality finish for its interior and exterior and the girl just runs like a champ. Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this awesome tribute to one of the true American muscle cars, the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Yenko SC. Bathed in its original shade of Hugger Orange (color code 72), this Yenko Tribute has been assembled to mirror a Chevrolet COPO 9737 option Yenko Sports Cars build (of which only 99 were manufactured in 1969); but this one has some very desirable modern enhancements. With only 400 miles on it since the engine build was completed, this beast is powered by a professionally-built and balanced 427 CID big block V8, complete with 840 rectangular port heads, and a Comp Cams roller cam (11-602-13) with roller lifters and rockers. Electronic ignition fires off the go-juice supplied by the brand-new Holley HP Electronic Fuel Injection, so this beast is daily-driver capable, thanks to the tractability provided by its fully-tunable modern fuel injection system. A new 4 core radiator helps keep engine temps in check while coated Hedman headers direct the spent fossils through its custom dual exhaust system, adding to the deep rumble of this cammed big block, and making this Yenko Tribute for sale sound as nasty as it looks. Coupled to a Muncie 4 speed manual with Hurst shifter, this baby gets the power to the ground NOW. Hooking up is no problem, thanks to the beefy 315/35-ZR17 Nitto 555 radials out back. Inside, the factory gauges keep the driver informed during cockpit operations, and a custom stereo system with AM/FM/CD player and Bluetooth send the tunes pumping out through custom kick panel and parcel shelf speakers, which are further enhanced by the trunk-mounted subwoofer. Bucket seats up front and a rear bench seat give you the chance to take the whole family out to car meets, or run a crew to the racetrack. On the way, the Vintage Air A/C keeps the occupants climate comfortable, and the newly-rebuilt front suspension, complete with coil-over shocks keep all four tires contact patches square to the pavement. Other additional features and options on this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle for sale include A/C, Aluminum Alloy Wheels, AM/FM/CD Radio with Bluetooth, new Floor Mats, a new Fuel Tank, Performance Radial Tires, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, a new Serpentine Belt accessory drive system, and Vinyl Interior.
