For sale in our Atlanta showroom is a second generation Plymouth Barracuda from 1968. The second-generation Barracuda, still shared many components with the Valiant but was stylishly redesigned with model-specific sheet metal, and a convertible and hardtop coupe joining the original fastback offering. The new Barracuda was chiefly the work of John E. Herlitz and John Samsen, with Coke-bottle side contours and heavily revised front and rear ends. Design cues included a concave rear deck panel, wider wheel openings, curved side glass, and S-curved roof pillars on the hardtop. Some points of interest with the 1968 Cudas were that the front and rear bumpers were identical, the rear portion of the roof on the fastback coupe was more streamlined, and the back glass, raked at a substantially horizontal angle, was much smaller compared with that of the previous model. Also, the use of chrome trim on the external sheet metal was more restrained. In 1968, while the 225 cu in (3.7 L) slant-6 was still the base engine, the V8 options ranged from the two- and four-barrel versions of the 273 cu in (4.5 L) to a seldom-ordered 383 cu in (6.3 L) B big-block, rated at 280 bhp (210 kW), the latter available only with the Formula S package. This Barracuda S comes with a Hensler Performance numbers matching rebuilt 383 and a 4 speed transmission, non numbers matching trans with just 500-miles on the motor since reinstalled. The dark Green exterior paint is in very good condition, shines brilliantly in the sun and contrasts nicely against the painted steel wheels with dog-dish hub caps. The black vinyl interior appears new and in great condition with only minimal signs of normal wear on the seat belts. The dash also shows no signs of sun fading or cracks. This Barracuda has power steering, and seatbelts. To view this 1968 Plymouth Barracuda in greater detail, including 100+ HD photos and HD video, please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com. 1968 Plymouth Barracuda fastback project car with a clean title and a second 68 Barracuda fastback as a parts car. The good: First car is complete, 318 v8 with the 904 automatic trans and a 7 1/4 rear end. Full set of rallye wheels in great condition and good 14 tires to boot. High back bucket seats in the front, bench in the back. Car has all glass with no clouding. Comes with second car rolling body including doors, deck lid in decent condition, 3 hoods, 2 sets of inserts for the hoods (one set of 1967 inserts, one set of 1968), both front and rear bumper, new front valance, extra header panel, and new dual exhaust rear panel. Already have the drip rail and windshield trim removed to save you the hassle of old spring clips. Seats are unbolted from the car currently and up on a rack. The bad: Both cars have various spots of rust, the primary car (black one) will need both driver and passenger side floor pan patches and a new trunk pan. The second car (orange) has no title and is merely to take sheet metal from for patches on the other car. No carburetor on the engine at the moment and the gas tank was rotted out. This is a restoration project and thus neither car is currently running. The engine ran when parked but has since been sitting I dont have a carburetor for it anymore. Youll need a trailer to pick them up. -Vehicle is on consignment and at our clients home -Please Call First and talk to a rep at 231-468-2809 EXT 1 -Showroom is by appointment only Please Call -If you would like a FREE Listing please visit our consignment page or Call

1968 Plymouth Barracuda convertible This beautiful, one of a kind created by Widow industries is a true example of elegance, and performance rolled into one to create a very drivable world class machine! The paint was done in PPG pearl White, with three other shades of white pearls to create the phantom flames. The interior was painted and dyed to compliment the exterior, white leather was used to wrap the seats, while all the original gauges were modified to work with the updated senders, and sensors to keep from losing to much of the old feel. The heart of this predator is a Mopar 360cid small block rated at 400 HP,transferred through to a 355 geared Curry 9 inch. Wheels are 18x7 Billet Specialties on bla bla tires
This 1968 Plymouth Barracuda is a very sharp specimen of its rarely seen classic 60s model. Its sporting a high-impact exterior color thats sure to attract attention and is in just the strong running condition youd want in a frequent driver. Itll be a great score for the classic enthusiast looking for a capable vintage ride you wont often see at cruise nights or on the boulevard. The Barracuda was brought out as Plymouths very first competitor in the muscle car market a few years before this 68 rolled off the line, and while its previous generation was already an undeniably sporty car, Plymouth wisely realized just how serious the competition would get in this high-visibility niche and really upped its game when the second iteration of the model came out. The result is this more aggressive looking car, with its fittingly high-impact Sublime green exterior, that features a substantial amount of model specific body panels to give it a look that not only sets it apart from its competitors, but from other Plymouth models of its era, as well. The rear roofline has an almost fastback contour and the wide wheel openings really put its flashy rims on display. The paint is in great shape - it appears recently applied and its sheer brightness will bring a smile to your face. With some attention focused on its chrome components, this Barracuda can be taken to the next level. Theres a very appealing muscle car sensibility to the interior, with black vinyl front buckets and rear bench seats that have plenty of miles left in them and dont show any major issues on their surfaces. The center console running between them sports a very cool automatic shifter, while just in front a trio of underdash gauges sits in place to cool or heat the cabin as needed. Everythings present and accounted for in the dash just beyond the stock steering wheel, and the original AM/FM radio still sits front and center. While the entire area is more than serviceable in its present state - youll have no trouble reading its clear gauges and there arent any glaring blemishes - a few touchups will have it looking outright sharp. All seems well with the trunk area in back - a full-size spare sits in its proper position, and with no lining on its floor, you can see how solid and well-aligned everything is inside. This classic Plymouth is ready to hit the street as soon as you get it home. A 318 cubic inch V8 sits under the hood, crowned with a 4-barrel Magneti Marelli carb that sits under a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, with a pair of Edelbrock valve covers at its sides. Its pulling strong and sounding great as it exhales into the headers leading to its Flowmaster exhaust, and the accompanying 3-speed automatic transmission shifts with slip-free precision. With power brakes at all four corners - discs in front - and smooth power steering, this classic stops with confidence-inspiring promptness and navigates easily as it cruises on a set of very cool 17 Chrysler wheels outfitted with BF Goodrich T/A radials. An agile muscle car that represented a high-water mark for its MoPar brand, this 1968 Plymouth Barracuda would be a great, road-ready acquisition for any collector. Call today!
