What do you get when you take the GTO and turn it up to 11? Maybe something like this 1967 Pontiac GTO hardtop. It packs a fuel-injected LS1 made of aluminum, a gorgeous interior, and the right hardware to make it very fast but totally streetable. If you like the idea of a GTO that takes no prisoners, this incredible restomod wont disappoint. The red paint is bright and beautifully applied, but at a glance, theres nothing to tip you off that this car is anything but a garden-variety Goat. Theres no mistaking the GTO DNA at work here, from the stacked headlights and mesh grilles to the beautiful Coke-bottle shape, and while its not a real GTO, the badges are just where they should be. The paint is indeed worthy of scrutiny, a beautiful finish thats deep and lustrous and is exactly the right color to grab everyones attention as you cruise into the show. There are plenty of OEM-grade details, ranging from the modest hood scoop to the mesh grille inserts and handsome taillights out back. All the factory chrome and stainless trim remains intact, so it has a very correct look and it would be easy to mistake for a purely stock GTO. The beautiful black bucket seat interior has plenty of factory hardware, but at the same time, it was obviously built for the street. All the soft parts are new and correct reproductions, so it looks right, and theres a proper wood-rimmed steering wheel, although its a bit thicker than original-issue. White-faced Auto Meter gauges replace the original dials and give a better view of the upgraded engine, but the secondary controls remain intact. But make no mistake, this is a street car, so it also has cold A/C, a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system, power brakes and power steering, so its easy to drive for anyone. Youll note that the factory his-n-hers shifter has been subtly tweaked to work with the modern 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission now living underneath and the illusion is fairly convincing. The trunk is tidy with a rubber mat and stereo equipment, but none of it gets in the way so you can feel free to hit the road with this Poncho. The hardware is what truly makes this car special, and the LS1 V8 under the hood is extremely impressive. Pulled from a late-model GTO (seems appropriate), its an all-aluminum block so handling is sharp and with as much OEM hardware as possible, it drives like a stocker. Everything is OEM quality, from the cool GTO cam covers to the accessory drive to the big electric fans keeping it cool (a big aluminum radiator certainly helps). The transmission is a 4L60E 4-speed automatic linked to a 10-bolt rear end, as original. Custom LS1 headers feed a trick Flowmaster exhaust system with an X-pipe, giving this GTO a very unique voice. It runs and drives beautifully, with great road manners and surprisingly good fuel economy thanks to the efficient LS1 motor. Factory Rally 1 wheels add an industrial look and carry 215/70/15 front and 235/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials. This is modern performance packaged as a vintage car, and thanks to the wonders of fuel injection, youll be shocked by how well it works. 1967 Pontiac GTO Coupe Born of the brainchild of John DeLorean, the initial concept was to upgrade the Tempest, morphing it into an early version of the muscle car, which was the up and coming trend in a niche market of buyers who were hungry to go fast. The name, which was DeLoreans idea, was inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO, the successful race car. It is an Italian abbreviation for Gran Turismo Omologato (grand tourer homologated), which means officially certified for racing in the grand tourer class. But in reality, the Pontiac GTO was never really a certified Grand Tourer race car. Internally, it was initially called the Grand Tempest Option, one of many automobiles in the Pontiac line up with a Grand in it. Despite these things, the GTO is one of the fastest cars ever manufactured by Pontiac. Wow is the first words out of your mouth when you take one look at this iconic Pontiac GTO. With just one factory color respray of the original blue exterior, this car appears as new. When driving the GTO you are immediately impressed at how true to the model this example is. It drives the same as the day it was when originally delivered in 1967. Exterior Code 4217 denotes a 2-door hardtop coupe. F-F says it is Tyrol Blue, and it has been resprayed to match original color. Chrome and brite work is in very nice condition, and all badging is correct. Even the rocker trim presents excellent. Rally wheels are all around, and chrome tipped exhaust adds a menacing look to the back of this goat. Interior Factory all the way, from the black vinyl seats, to the faux veneer on the face of the dash, to the console, and down to the jet black carpeting, the interior appears as it did when it drove out of the showroom. A his and hers Hurst shifter is between the buckets. Air conditioning blows Ice Cold! Power steering, power brakes are added, and the steering wheel is definitely original. Drivetrain According to the owner the car is a matching numbers GTO, however, the 3x2 carb and manifold set up were added at the selling dealer due to the fact it was no longer an option in 1967. Powered by the then new 400ci engine, horse power is rated at 360. Undercarriage Upon viewing the car from atop, one would expect nothing less than a very clean view actually looking like it was polished. No rust here, just clean, dry surfaces. This wonderful 1967 Pontiac GTO is truly remarkable in every way with all features fully operational, no smoke, original and unmolested mint condition interior as well as fully detailed engine and trunk compartments. This car drives so perfectly and effortlessly that it would be a shame to make it a garage queen, even though it presents itself as such.

1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible You have just stumbled across much more than your standard GTO. This classic is not only a desirable muscle car but is one of the nicest in the nation. The car was built by Chuck Woolery with Run Rite Classics who is known in the industry for his top level Pontiac restorations. Not only did he build the car but used it as his personal vehicle for years, bring home home some of the top awards including a Concourse Gold. The car is fully documented which can all be verified through the VIN, block casting numbers, etc. After the most recent rotisserie restoration the car was sold to the current owner who drove it less than 200 miles, strictly using it as a high level show car. It has been cared for extremely well in all of that time making its current condition just as pristine as when it was just completed. One look at the fit and finish of chrome, paint, trim, etc will tell you that. The body is laser straight and coated in a bright Tyrol Blue that looks beautiful in the sun. This is paired with a Black cloth convertible top that raises and lowers with ease. Nice subtle pinstriping runs the length of both sides with a small amount of free style work on the rear tail panel. The chrome and trim is immaculate from front to rear and all correctly mounted. You will find that not only is the correct GTO hood in place but is fitted with the correct hood tachometer. The car sits on original style wheels which are then wrapped with red line tires which are the perfect combo for a muscle car like this. Getting the car moving is the 400V8 factory motor that is fitted with a 3 deuce carburetor set up. Just as with the chrome on the exterior, the chrome work under the hood has a beautiful finish. Looking the car over there is no doubting why it has won so many top level awards. Mated to the engine is a 4 speed manual transmission that shifts very well. Power brakes are in place and this classic is extremely comfortable to drive. The interior car is Black with wood accents just as it would be from the factory. Everything has that nostalgic stock appearance but is fresh with a new finish. The bucket seats are fitted with headrests and sit to each side of the original center console. All the original dash components also appear to be present and accounted for and the padding running across the top presents well. The center console sports a great looking B&M shifter. This is a substantially-sized muscle car, and youll find plenty of real estate in front of the rear bench for your backseat passengers. The trunk area in back offers plenty of room for luggage or nearly anything else you might want to take along on your adventures. With the chrome valve covers on its sides blending perfectly with its silver-painted block and a 4-barrel Holley Demon carb sitting just underneath an open element air cleaner on top, the stroked 383 cubic inch V8 strikes a commanding presence while producing plenty of power that becomes evident as soon as you step on the gas pedal. It sits in a eye-catching engine compartment that features inner fenders painted to match the exterior and is lightly travelled and very much at the top of its game, pairing with a 3-speed automatic transmission to provide a very solid, smoothly functioning drivetrain.
