For sale in our Saint Louis showroom is an awesome black on black 1967 Oldsmobile 442. Following the success of Pontiacs GTO, Oldsmobile began cramming big V-8s into mid-sized A-body hardtops, and the 442 was born. The 442 moniker represented 4-barrel V-8, 4-speed transmission, and dual exhaust. The 442 was initially offered on Oldsmobiles F85 and Cutlass trims, in 1968 the 442 became its own model. Available in a 2-door sports coupe, holiday hardtop coupe, and convertible. Powering this 67 442 is a 455 CID V8 with an Edelbrock aluminum intake. The 4-speed manual transmission transfers the power to the 12-bolt rear end and to the pavement via the Radial T/As. Front and rear sway bars have been added to improve the handling of this big sports car as well. The black exterior paint features a black vinyl roof and is accented with a dual red pinstripe, which also highlights the body line on the side of the car. The black vinyl interior features bucket seats and the beautiful 442 dash treatment. Raised white letter BF Goodrich Radial T/As sit on the Cragar rally wheels and provide a classic muscle car look. The odometer reads 1,405, which represents the mileage on the car since the restoration was complete. Options for this 1967 Oldsmobile 442 include AM/FM Radio, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Raised White Letter Radial Tires, and Rally Wheels. This 67 442 is a breeze to drive and has plenty of get up and go to put a smile on your face all day long. 1967 Oldsmobile 442 Coupe When it comes to 60s GM muscle, Oldsmobile enthusiasts often spend years searching for a clean, numbers matching car thats worthy of investment grade money. But every once in a while, a pristine rocket hits our website and causes a BIG commotion which results in a flood of calls and one lucky buyer finally cashing in on a rare opportunity. My Advice...Call NOW! Benefitting from a frame off rotisserie restoration, this car was brought back to life in a big way. Totally redone, excepting for an engine rebuild which remained sealed, just cleaned and painted, this car has never seen rain, or any bad weather. As I said Call NOW! Exterior Panels were painted with direct to substrate build primer and then hours of block sanding. After this process, 2 coats of base and clear coated. Meanwhile hours heat gun stripping the underside of its rustproofing and dirt right down to bare frame. Then a shot of POR 15 Chassis Black just like the factory would do, and let the assembly begin! At this point all re-chroming was initiated, as well as the consigner polishing all the stainless...for days to get the shine he needed. A rare dealer installed OAI (outside air induction) is included, as too are redline 15 tires. Interior Making use of the structures of the seats which were totally rebuilt with foam, and red vinyl to match the factory, a new dash, new door panels, and a fresh roll of carpet, bring this interior right back to the original factory state. Due to the original rally pack instruments being vague, a new set of aftermarket gauges keeps track of vital functions. Fronting the restored dash is an original restored steering wheel. Other features and creature comforts include, power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, power drivers seat, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM radio, and a rear speaker. Drivetrain After a technical check of the compression and vacuum, it was decided to leave the original engine sealed, and do a thorough cleanup and repaint all to factory spec. All engine accessories were rebuilt to factory specs, and reinstalled. The original Muncie transmission was totally rebuilt and bolted back on to the now gleaming engine. Undercarriage Fully stripped and restored adding the disc brakes to the front (which was an option in keeping with originality) new suspension, a rebuilt rear axle with new seals and gaskets, and air shocks to give the car a raked look (Included are the original factory style spiral shocks) A consigner with multi talents and enough motivation to build his career, build his own house, and build most of the colonial style furniture to fill it, gets the bug to restore a version of his first love of a car he bought new in the 60s and then sold, the Olds 442. An AACA 1st Junior Award, AACA 1st Senior scoring 400/400, Oldsmobile Division car of the year in 2015, and a Second Place in the prestigious Hemmings Motor News Concours DElegance at Saratoga Springs, New York. As I said Call NOW!

1967 Oldsmobile 442 With the arrival of the 60s the looks of vehicles changed pretty drastically and the muscle car era arrived. Every manufacturer wanted to get in the game and Oldsmobile did so with the classic 442. This number referred to the original cars 4 barrel carb, 4 speed transmission and dual exhaust although it was used in some years where a 3 speed and automatic were options. This car has been well maintained as a survivor with only 58,867 factory miles. It has always been garage kept and has been in storage for the past 10-12 years. It has had 3 previous owners and 1 repaint in the original color. The body is very straight and solid. The floors are solid and are a good indicator of how well it has been cared for. The pale yellow paint has a nice finish and looks great paired with the Black vinyl top. All of the original trim and chrome have a nice shine with no pitting or issues. It has a great stance and rides on the original style wheels with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. It is now powered by a Oldsmobile 330 V8 motor that runs great. The engine compartment has a nice clean stock appearance. The car has had multiple stock recent improvements which include new air shocks, a new rear sway bar, rebuilt carburetor, rebuilt distributor, new cap/rotor, new spark plugs and wires, a new starter, new battery, new aluminum radiator, new exhaust, new disc brakes, new tires, a new air cleaner, new rear control arms, new front sway bar links and an entirely rebuilt turbo transmission with shift kit. That is a lot of new stuff! Basically the car was gone through mechanically to make sure everything is road ready. You can hop in it and drive it anywhere! The power steering and power brakes make it a very comfortable driver and the AC system has also had an aftermarket upgrade to 134A so it is a simple process to get charged. The interior of the car is done in Black and the upholstery is all in great shape. It has dual bucket seats up front with the factory center console to house the shifter and additional storage compartment. The dash has the original layout and everything works except for the TicToc Tach. A smaller set of aftermarket Sunpro gauges were added under the dash for temp, oil, and voltage. The radio has been replaced. The trunk of the car has been nicely finished out with a custom trunk mat and houses a spare wheel/tire. This is a great running car and is being offered up at a great price. It has been authenticated by Ed Cox who is a well known 442 expert in the area. This classic 442 is being offered up for only $19,750.00!

In 1965, to better compete with the Pontiac GTO, the original 330 CID V8 rated at 310 hp (231 kW) was replaced by a new 400 CID V8 rated at 345 hp (257 kW). The 442 definition was changed to 4 hundred CID V8 engine, 4-barrel carburetor, and 2 exhaust pipes, and was named by Car Craft Nationals as the top car of 1965. In 1968 the 442 became its own model and got a larger, 455 CID (7.5 L), V8 engine in 1970.SPECIFICS / BUILD INFORMATION EXTERIOR-Stunning new White Paint with Black Convertible Top. -5 Spoke Aluminum Rims with Kelly Charger Radials. -Great Stance, Dual Exhaust.
