Someone went to great lengths to ensure that nearly every component and piece of hardware on this car is original and correct, and it really shows. Unlike many Top Flight cars, this car is presented exactly as it was judged, with no parts removed after judging. Rarely does one find for sale a Top Flight NCRS or a Bloomington Gold mid year as it was judged as many do not have all the correct parts used in judging. The reason is; many of the original parts are worth serious money on the open market so either someone loaned parts to the car to gain judging points, and or exchanged parts after judging. Not is this case. What was judged is on the Vette. Be assured you can have this Vette judged again with confidence. This Vettes condition is as when delivered new. Judging sheets are available. One of the Sting Rays everyone searches for is a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible with a numbers-matching big block L68 427 still under the hood. And of course, you need four-on-the-floor to really get to enjoy it all. So when you can find one that is this exceptionally well preserved/restored (even the clock works!), has A/C comfort, and is also in a terrifically coordinating color package, then you know this is the Vette of your dreams. Ermine White is an iconic color for Chevy, but a rare one for the 67 convertible only around 1,420 ever finished in this crisp white. Today, there is an exceptional gloss and luster on the factory-correct color, which tells you it has seen careful ownership and the right investments in maintaining a high-quality C2. Complete and pristine chrome bumpers, and all the correct badging only add to this cars award-worthy shine. And just by the way the door close and the headlight panels fit flush, you know there has been a true long-term investment in quality. On a car of this caliber, of course all the great period-correct performance options are still featured today from the bold side pipe exhaust, to the cool redline tires. And the element we love the most is the big stinger hood. Not only is it a timeless sign of serious power underneath, but also the cool red streak is a great match for the tires and interior making this Sting Ray striking with the top up or down. Open the door, and it feels like 1967 all over again. Theres a sea of red on the dash, carpeting and seats. And speaking of those individual buckets, not only are they finished in the correct red leather, but also they have headrests both very rare and desirable options. In total, the red presentation has a solid feeling of investment that looks great against the white exterior paint and really gives you pride of ownership. Just about the only thing that breaks up this festival of scarlet is the wood rimmed three-spoke steering wheel. The rest of the interior is factory-correct, right down to the clock thats still ticking away. And this one is truly your all-season friend. It has cold air conditioning to let you keep the top down in the summer season; the white folding roof looks great against the paint any time you need to button up; and even the hardtop (unfinished) comes with the sale. Its easy to settle into this sports car with comfortable bucket seats, a center console, and a full set of gauges that love to dance while you row through the gears and let that big motor growl. Theres definitely something magical about a 427 in a Corvette. So you know its truly special having the original numbers-matching L68 motor still living under the hood and looking fantastic. The big block is dressed properly with Chevy Orange on the block and valve covers. This one is correct right down to the details like the decals and the Frigidaire compressor. Plus, theres a nice bit of flash with the correct ignition shield and chrome air cleaner with 427 decals. And best of all, we all know that underneath that triangle topper lives the ultra-desirable triple set of dual Holley carburetors. Not only does it look great, but also youll love hitting the road in this big block classic, because its all about control. The Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission allows you to dial in the performance and roar of the side pipes on a moments notice; the fully-independent suspension holds the road better than some modern muscle machines; and the four-wheel disc brakes provide superior stopping power. One of only 2,101 built with this L68, the rarity has been cherished on this Sting Ray. Thats why it comes with the right paperwork, including owners manual and NCRS shipping report. This is the rare, high-quality vintage car that youll love to drive. So while it has had the right investments to take home awards at the car show this weekend, theyll first have to get you off the backroads long enough to park it on the event lawns. This Corvette is the total package, and so its looking for a true collector. Is that you? Call now!!!
Building on the success of the first generation, these second-gen cars were dramatically restyled and the chassis was significantly redesigned making them smaller and much more of a drivers car. Five years of refinements made these 67s the best of the line, as well as the last. This one has a sweet combination of a powerful, numbers matching big block engine with side pipes, a 4-speed transmission, and a drop top. It attracts attention as it rolls down the street and was built to be driven. Come on down and check it out. Marina Blue has got to be one of the most beautiful colors that you can paint these cars. This cars original paint code also happens to be 976 so its an original Marina Blue piece. The peaked fenders catch the light and reflect it along their curves as it moves down the street. The big block hood announces the 427 lurking below it with lettering on the side of the hood scoop. The spear leading into it, along with the scoop itself are highlighted in white, nicely matching the white convertible roof. Of-course this was the body style that introduced hideaway headlights that rotate open and improved aerodynamics, becoming a Corvette standard item until 2005. Functional 5-louver vents exhaust engine compartment heat out of the fenders and side-pipes on a car are pretty rare, so always make quite a statement when you see them. There is a removable hard top available (not pictured) to go along with the canvas drop top on this car, so be sure to ask your salesperson about it. Kelsey Hayes style reproduction wheels look great and complete the awesome look of this car. Open the door (or just look in if the roof is down), and you will find a sharp looking interior dressed up in two shades of blue with white upholstery (also the original combination for the car). The white door panels have chrome piping outlining the upper section and cutting a line along the armrest. White bucket seats are comfortable with pleated seating surfaces surrounded by smooth vinyl. Go ahead, set yourself down in the drivers side and reach out for the three spoke, deep dish, wooden steering wheel. Behind it you will find reproduction gauges that are fresh, clean, and easy to read in the stock locations under a deep cowl. A 160 MPH Speedo on the left, tach on the right with smaller battery, fuel, water and oil gauges on each side. The center console curves down with the unique clock at the top with ventilation controls and radio knobs below it. The vertically oriented radio sits just in front of the chrome ball shifter for the manual transmission that falls easily to hand and just begs to be stirred around. Pop the hood and you will find that precious, numbers matching 427 motor nestled down inside a neat and clean engine bay. It is completely stock with a decal on the chrome air topper announcing it as the 427 Turbo-Jet 390 HP. Signs of good maintenance are evident with newer belts, hoses and ignition components as well as a fresh alternator and master cylinder for the 4-wheel disc brakes. Power flows back through a 4-speed manual transmission and the suspension as well as the steering components have been gone through and replaced in the recent past. A beefy sway bar in the front keeps the car cornering flat and the independent rear suspension that Zora Duntov designed for this car gets the power to the ground quite effectively. The rubber meets the road through 205/75R15 white wall tires mounted on those Kelsey Hayes style wheels with Chevrolet center caps. A very desirable big block car with its original drive train that is a blast to drive. It doesnt get much better than this! Come on down and check this car out.

The way to an enthusiasts heart is with a numbers-matching big block Sting Ray. So we already know you love this 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. But dont forget to take the time to look at all the details from the great color combo to the four-on-the-floor that let you know this low-mileage classic is desire on wheels. A Corvette finished in red is so iconic that they write songs about it, but this one knows how to command even more attention. This has a more recent application of red, and it has a ton of gloss and a great clearcoat shine. So the sunshine really loves this Sting Ray. And they even got the details right, like the redline tires that tell you someone has carefully loved this classic. In fact, its a two-owner car coming off of long-term ownership since 1971. So its been treated like a family member, which is how you get a cherished car that has averaged under 960 miles annually. The chrome is bright, the badging is complete, and the panels fit nicely this is a well-respected C2. While youll love accessories like the color-matched hardtop, we bet youll use the black folding roof plenty. Thats because it goes so nicely with the black stinger hood. But your absolute favorite way to drive with be with the roof off after all, thats what a convertible is all about. So you get a deep and dark black inside that looks great against the red and matches the intimidation of the hood. This interior gets the vintage look correct, right down to the vertical AM/FM radio. So you get all the best drivers features, like the low-back bucket seats, thin wood-rimmed steering wheel, a full set of gauges with large speedo and tach, and a bright stick shift calling out for your right hand from within the darkness. Under the hood is what we all love to see big block power. It makes collectors weak in the knees when its not only presented properly, but also when its the original numbers-matching powerhouse. The 427 cubic-inch V8 inhales deeply from a four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with a that wonderful big block authority out of the dual exhaust. This is just an awesome car and color combination! This is a 1967 Corvette 327/350hp Convertible with just 49k actual miles! It has its original numbers matching motor. It was sold new in Portland, Oregon. The wife of 1986 New York Mets World Series second baseman Wally Backman purchased the car for him in 1987. Wally lived in Beaverton, OR and she found the car locally. It was then subject to a frame-off restoration and in 1991 earned an NCRS Top Flight Award. It stayed in their collection until it was sold to a Southern California Corvette collector and his wife in 1997. They kept it in their collection until we purchased it in 2017. This is just an absolutely beautiful color combination and engine combination to own! It has been in Rays personal garage at his house since we purchased it. A real great representation of the last year of the C2 Corvette!!!

You work hard spoil yourself with this beautiful Corvette Convertible!!!Automotive History:Corvettes designers and engineers Ed Cole, Zora Arkus-Duntov, Bill Mitchell, and others knew that after 10 years of the first generation Corvette it was time to move on. By decades end, the machinery would be put into motion to fashion a fitting successor to debut for the 1963 model year. After years of tinkering with the basic package, Bill Mitchell and his crew would finally break the mold of Harley Earls original design once and for all. Known as the Sting Ray it is the second generation of the Chevrolet Corvette sports car, produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors for the 1963 to 1967 model years. The 1967 Corvette Sting Ray was the last Corvette of the second generation, and is arguably the most desired by collectors. Boasting slight differences from previous years. Although it was meant to be a redesign year, its intended successor the C3was found to have some undesirable aerodynamic traits. Duntov demanded more time in the wind tunnel to devise fixes before the next generation Corvette went into production.

For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a beautifully restored 1967 Corvette Coupe. This Corvette is powered by a number s matching L71 427 big block with 435 horsepower! The L71 gave you 11.1 compression, a high lift solid lifter camshaft and three two barrel carburetors. This engine had the highest horsepower rating you could order in 1967 and remained the highest available until the Z06 debuted in 2006. There were other engines options that were more powerful like the infamous L-88, but that was for the most part a store bought race car and was rated at 430 horsepower to try and deter the unaware as they were nasty machines that needed a lot of careful attention behind the wheel. With the L-71 rated at 435 and less expensive than the L-88, that was the box to check. This is a must have that is optioned very well! This will make for one proud owner! This fine example is equipped with side exhaust, bolt on cast aluminum wheels, Posi rear end, AM/FM radio and Redline tires. During the restoration 15 years ago the car was repainted Red with a Black Stinger to go with the black vinyl interior. Originally the car was Marina Blue. What could be better than a high compression, solid lifter Big Block with a 4-speed and side pipes!
