Lastly, I'll wager there's not a Healey out there that rides and steers better that this one. I took the car to Hendrix Wire and Wheel in Greensboro, NC to get new tires , to balance, true wheels and drums on the rear. He used a lathe to do the job. The results were incredible. If you have a chance to drive it you'll see! I have copies of all the work that has been done on the car since I bought it in 2014. The only thing I know of that one might want to address is that 2nd gear comes out of place sometimes while coasting down a slight grade. I'm told it is a simple repair. There is a nylon ball and spring that holds it in 2nd gear and the spring has lost it's tension. I had just finished insulating the transmission/drive train tunnel and did not want to disturb my work. Everything is as near perfect as a 50 year old English car can be.

British Motor Industry legend Sir Leonard Lord, soon convinced Healey that Austin should build the car and thus gave birth to the Austin-Healey 100. The Austin-Healey's design and appeal as a true British Sports Car, resulted in strong sales across the globe in the late 1950's and early 60's. Over time the design and drive train matured to the 6-cylinder Austin-Healey 3000, which featured a more comfortable interior, improved braking, and suspension. 1967 would marque the last production model year of the Austin-Healey 3000, the last of the great "big Healeys" and is considered by many to be the pinnacle of the Austin-Healey brand. The 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III Phase II Roadster featured here is finished in gorgeous Ivory White with a beautiful original black interior. This extremely rare find has only traveled 55,867 miles from new and still wears most of its original paint. This marque specialist was tasked with ensuring the car's drivability while going to great lengths to preserve its incredible originality, using only the best parts available including numerous New Old Stock components. Since completed this magnificent motorcar has been shown at numerous Concours shows and was the recipient of the coveted Palmetto Award of Preservation at the 2013 Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance. Chassis # HBJ8L35548Only 1,000 Miles Since Completion by Marque Experts BRC of PhiladelphiaA Numbers Matching Example Finished In An Original Healey Color CombinationOffered With BMIHT Certificate, Spare, And Boot CoverAn Excellent Example To Show Or DriveThe Austin Healey 3000 underwent many changes throughout its 8-year production life, culminating in the BJ8 series which provided the smoothest and most comfortable driving experience of all the “Big Healeys.” Power was increased from 136 to 150 horsepower by the addition of a new, high lift cam and SU HD8 carburetors. Power assisted brakes now came standard and the interior was modestly redesigned to allow for better instrument monitoring by the driver. The chassis was also slightly altered to allow for better ground clearance. Production of the 3000 ended in late 1967 when it was unfortunately determined that the Austin Healey brand was no longer viable. A total of 17,712 Mark III Austin Healeys were produced during from 1964 to 1967 and they remain one of the most iconic British roadsters to have ever been produced. The example on offer here, chassis number HBJ8L35548 and engine number 29KRUH10139, is a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III. It is finished in an interesting and originally available color combination of Golden Beige Metallic with Red interior. Though the original colors were White with a Black interior, this highly sought after factory color combination was commonly offered on the later BJ8s. Not much is known regarding the cars early history but the car was treated to a full nut-and-bolt restoration by marque experts, BRC of Philadelphia, who are world renowned for their restorations of Big Healeys. They have restored over 600 “Big Healeys” and their knowledge and craftsmanship truly show in the stunning results that come out of their workshop. Though the car was restored over approximately 8 years ago, it presents excellently with less than 1000 carefully driven miles since restoration completion. It is offered with BMIHT certificate, spare and boot cover. Please visit www.LBILimited.com for many more photos and details. Worldwide shipping is available upon request.
