Nice upgrades, four-on-the floor, and a cool street machine style come together in this V8-powered classic 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova hardtop. The second-gen Novas are in-demand. The clean straight lines of the design have grown into a handsome understatement. Plus, Chevy upped the gen-II cars with plenty of sharp creases in the sheet metal to drive home the point that this was lightweight car with a seriously aggressive side. This overall feeling of aggression bubbling beneath the surface is perfectly complemented by the turquoise paint. Its a shade used for understatement, but the newer application also has plenty of luster to showcase the front overhang and rear fender kick-up. This intimidation factor is heightened further by nice upgrades like the cowl induction hood, forward stance, and 15-inch Weld racing wheels. Inside is exactly what you want in a sleeper-style Nova. The exterior turquoise is a nice complement color for all the sea-like shades inside. You can tell there have been some nice investments in fresh seat covers and carpeting. So youll happily park this hardtop with all the windows down, that way people can get a good look at the inside. There has been a careful attention to detail so nothing looks out of place, including the upgraded retro-style AM/FM/cassette stereo. But as you spot the Hurst shifter and full Dolphin gauge panel (with turquoise backgrounds to match the car) you also get a nice tingle of performance. The engine bay is out to impress you and your friends with a block, alternator, and intake painted to match the exterior. Plus, the air topper and polished valve covers add to this tidy and thoughtful package. But more than just look great, youll love that this Nova has been upgraded to period-correct small block power. The 327 cubic-inch V8 is already a great motor to have, and its a hardy power plant to adapt to any upgrades you may want. It fires up readily and makes a nice sound out of the dual exhaust. Plus, youre in complete control of this V8 and its rumbling soundtrack thanks to the Muncie four-speed manual transmission. This upgraded Nova also comes with some nice paperwork. You get the original bill of sale, warranty card, service manuals, and maintenance records. So if youve been looking for an iconic muscle car that has the right mix of vintage and flair, step up to this Nova. Call now!
1966 Chevrolet NovaCall For Price 813-361-5999 MikeThe Chevrolet Chevy II/Nova was a small automobile manufactured by Chevrolet and was the top model in the Chevy II lineup through 1968. 1966 Chevy IIs introduced an extensive sharp-edged restyle based in part on the Super Nova concept car. In general, proportions were squared up but dimensions and features changed little. The 1966 Chevy Nova we have at Classic Vintage Exchange has almost an all original look, except for the engine and transmission. Like we all did back in the day, what came as the original motor was not fast enough, so we transplanted a more powerful one. That is what we have in this one, a modified 355 cubic inch small block Chevy with a 4-barrel carburetor and a throaty dual exhaust system backed by a performance manual shifted Turbo Automatic Transmission, running 4:56 gears at the rear. This engine turns the normally mild Nova into a proper muscle car that will surprise most any muscle car on the street. The exterior is a Red paint looks awesome on the crisp Nova shape with the exterior highlights including a bold grille and semi-fastback roofline. "Humped" fenders in an angular rear end were reminiscent of larger 1966 Chevrolets, though the 1966 Chevy II and Nova had vertical taillights and single headlights. There are no modifications to the original bodywork and the car has a real sleeper look. Workmanship is very well done and lets the basic design speak for itself. All the trim looks great as do the bumpers. Our Nova has what appears to be the original tan interior with a bench seat front and rear that features factory-style upholstery, stock dash and gauges with aftermarket gauge panel added,The steering wheel is the factory one it came with as is the door panels, and most other interior appointments. A well-placed shifter comes out of the floor to your right and you can watch the rpms with a large face tach on the steering column. And for a totally stock high-performance Nova look, it rides on Rally wheels wearing black wall tires. This Nova proves that good things definitely come in small packages. If you want a very original hot rod version 1966 Chevy Nova, the hot one we have at Classic Vintage Exchange is the one for you. Come see it today.

This car was born from a dream that started when it was new. When introduced in 1966 I thought this was a perfect car. Not too large, not too small, enough horsepower to run with the big dogs and good looking to. In 1966 I thought, "I'm going to have one of those someday. It only took 40 years and it was far from new. The floors were rusted through, the drive train was worn out, the rats had eaten the interior and there was a hole for a floor shifter made with a can opener, but it was a true SS car. Six and a half years later it had a new front suspension from Heidts with rack and pinion steering, tubular "A" arms and dropped spindles and disc brakes. The rear of the car was modified to create a sub-frame to accept a custom built independent rear suspension using a Ford 8.8 center, with 3.73 gears, posi-traction and Dutchman axles and disc brakes. All of this is supported by Air Ride Technologies air springs and adjustable shocks and managed from the inside by Dakota digital gauge and controls in the center console. The engine is a 353 (not a misprint) small block. This is a de-stroked 400. Steel 3 1/4 crank, "H" beam 6.250 Eagle connecting rods, custom pistons, AFR aluminum heads, roller rockers, Comp Cams retrofit hydraulic roller cam, Mass Flow electronic fuel injection. The power is transmitted through a 700R4 built by Bow Tie Overdrive. This combination makes just under 500 HP and gets 25 MPG on the road. The body has many subtle modifications. The bumpers have been tucked and narrowed, the drip rails shaved along with the door handles and gas filler. The windshield and rear glass are flush mounted and the "wing" windows have been eliminated and replaced with a single glass in the door. The car rides on Billet Specialties "Vintec" wheels. The interior is black paint, gray leather and black walnut accents. The dash is "Inteletronics" digital. Tilt, cruise, air, power brakes, steering, windows, seats, doors.
The Chevy II received its first real styling update since its introduction in 1962. Gone was the rounded styling of the previous years, replaced with a more squared off and angular look. Sales instantly increased, jumping up 25% to 163,300 units. The top of the line model for 1966 was the Nova SS, with sportier styling, powerful V-8, and better suspension. The 1966 Nova SS you see here is in immaculate condition, and draws crowds like moths to a flame. The beautiful Bahama Blue paint is amazing, and the body is arrow straight. The addition of billet aluminum 17 wheels and lowered stance give this SS that just right look. You just dont see them this clean!! On the inside its just as nice as the outside, with beautiful blue vinyl buckets, center console, digital AM/FM radio, and classic Stewart Warner gauges. The interior is borderline perfection, and the color absolutely compliments the overall look of the car. Under the hood is a RamJet fuel injected 350 with long tube headers that are almost a work of art in and of themselves. The transmission is an automatic three speed handing off power to a GM 10 bolt rear axle. Braking duties are handled by discs in front and drums in the rear. This beautiful Nova has won numerous awards at car shows, gone on the HOT ROD Power Tour, and been featured on the cover of the March 1988 issue of Hot Rod magazine. It is truly a super nice 66 SS that only needs a new garage to call home. If this sounds like you, then stop in or email Brian@Bunryzz.com today!!
