The suspension on this Fastback is a Total Control Products (TCP) 4 link rear end with coil overs, rack and pinion steering and coil over front suspension valued at over $15,000. It has sub-frame connectors and stopping power through 4 wheel disk brakes. She rides on Foose wheels and has new Bridgestone Potenza S-04 225/45R17 up front and massive 255/40R17 in the rear. The exhaust is a true duals system with an x-pipe connector that provides smoother exhaust flow and increases horsepower. FULLY RESTORED! 19K PLUS IN WORK! ONE OF A KIND! RARE! Phillip's Auto is pleased to offer for sale this beautiful one of a kind Ford Mustang. This Mustang has always been garage kept and has over $19,000 dollars in work to complete the restoration (See attached photos). Finished in a gorgeous Red exterior paint, fully redone chrome accents all around and a white convertible soft top to match the white lining on the tires, this car is a serious head turner. The fully redone interior is finished in red/cream/black to match the exterior colors of the car. All of the dash components have been refinished in chrome and/or black and look like new. Red carpeting really makes the interior pop alongside the custom Black/Cream seats with a very unique and beautiful design on all 4 backrests. The smooth 4-Speed transmission truly allows you to feel the power from the 289 cubic inch small block V8 that is under the hood. If you are looking for something to put the top down in, shift some gears, while still having some power under the hood, this is the Ford Mustang you've been looking for. A very original and rare 1965 Mustang convertible. I bought this C-code Mustang 4 years ago from the original owner’s family, after he passed away. She has been a garage queen except for the regular short drive to keep her healthy, and now it is time for someone else to enjoy her.The car is in exceptional condition, mechanically excellent if not perfect with no leaks, squeaks, smoke, or roughness. Body is dent-free, paint is beautiful with a couple of small chips. Interior is exceptionally clean and believed to be original except for the interior door panels and rear seat belts, which I replaced and added. The engine compartment looks like a photo from the original 1965 brochure, down to the details of the correct factory stickers. The white convertible top is serviceable, although the bonding on the hard plastic rear window has come apart over time and is currently taped. The car has power brakes, power steering, and a power soft top. Rare combination of original options include the dealer-installed rally pack, dealer-installed door edge guards, an optional AM/FM radio, a center console, and rally sport wheels. The original owner’s manual with service coupons is included as well. This is a rare find for those who appreciate a highly original classic Mustang, and one of the best deals out there for a car in excellent condition!... Minor cosmetic issues throughout, was restored by previous owner likely in the mid 80's. 289 Runs strong but does have low compression of about 100 psi in 3 of the 8 cylinders. Has an FMX transmission (beefier than a C4 but not as stout as a C6) that hates being low on tranny fluid, but shifts smoothly. Not certain what the rear end is, but I don't think it is the stock 2.73 gear ratio either. Recently installed new wilwood front discs, and varishock 500lb coilovers, work checked and aligned by USA performance auto.New electrical installed throughout. There is frame damage to the front end, but otherwise straight. Very little rust, and always garaged.... Read more
