Take a 65 Impala SS and dress it up in a flashy paint job with tons of shiny chrome, set it up on some serious rubber mounted on a set of Coys alloys, and you will definitely get noticed rolling down the street! Back it up with a sweet sounding V8 and you are ready for cruising. Check it out. This is an interesting take on a two-tone paint job. It is dark green on the top, and heavy metallic dark green on the bottom, divided, and highlighted by the custom silver and green stripe that cuts and slashes down the side. Up front it follows the smooth lines of the hood and front fenders, and at the rear, accents the bulging rear fenders. Chrome surrounds the car. Starting up front, a spear of it runs down the center of the hood and points at a polished grill with and Impala SS emblem off to one side flanked by quad headlights and split by a sharp looking multi-section bumper. From the side, the Alloy wheels jump out at you as well as the fender wells and rocker trim that are all dressed out in the shiny stuff. Out back the look is clean with the three round taillights on each side underlined by a trim panel with Chevrolet in script and another Impala SS badge, all underlined by a simple chrome bumper. Open the door and you will find a stock SS Black interior that has been nicely redone and looks brand new. The door panel has pleated upper and lower sections divided by thin chrome piping with an SS badge in the top front. The big bucket seats are pleated in the center with smooth bolsters on the sides and the seat back is trimmed in chrome for a great look. A black two-spoke steering wheel has a semicircular chrome horn ring with a leaping Impala button in the center. The dash has a horizontally oriented speedometer flanked by two round gauge clusters. The one on the left holds the fuel, water temperature, oil pressure and volt gauge, while the one on the right is the tachometer. It is underlined by a band of machined metal that contains the control knobs along with the ignition switch. A chrome T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission rises out of the center console that has a nice storage compartment in it. Pop the hood and you will find an HD suffix code, 327 High Performance 327 V8 nestled down in a nicely detailed out, neat and clean engine bay. A polished air topper sends fresh clean air to an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and a Weiand intake manifold. Finned valve covers look good and help with oil cooling and red plug wires get the spark where it needs to be. Long tube headers get the spent gases out and heading to dual Flowmaster mufflers. There is a new brake booster and master cylinder as well as other signs of good routine maintenance. Power flows back through a two-speed Powerglide transmission to the rear wheels mounted on coil springs and located by trailing arms. Up front power steering works through control arms and coil springs with a beefy sway bar to make this car handle well. Of course, that is also helped by the 255/40ZR18 tires on the front and 315/35R20s on the rear mounted on those Coys alloy wheels. This car looks good, sounds good, and is a comfortable cruiser. 1965 Chevrolet Impala Coupe Residing on the African Savannah and confronted with a threat, the sleek, nimble, and fast Impala will take flight to outrun or confuse its competitor. Aptly named, the Chevrolet version introduced in 1958, continued to emulate its animal namesake through years of design modifications, and power options made available. In 1965, the jet age was in full swing, and automobile designers were transitioning from non-functional visual embellishments, to sleek, cleaner line designs for their cars. Engineers also caught on that more power will attract more buyers, and the race was on! This stout cruiser will refuse to be constantly garaged and be beckoning for you to take it out and give it and you a good ride. Modern modifications, and additions have taken this original car to a new level, and with these new additions, and the remaining old school 1960s Impala look, its a match made in heaven. Exterior Regal Red drips over the big long exterior panels and roof, mixes with the chrome and brightwork, and is enough to put a smile on your face. Just gazing the only thing giving it away are the Cragers and Laramie performance tires, that this may not be your everyday 65 Impala. Chrome and brightwork are in excellent condition, window surrounds and glass are looking very good. A note to take a look at the underside of this unit, as there was a lot of attention paid to suspension, and detail with surface prep and finish. Interior Custom racing buckets in menacing black and original restored vinyl bench stretches from door to door in the back. An amazing dash with machined aluminum highlighting, extra gauges, and a retro looking AM/FM radio can be seen fronted by a rally steering wheel. Clean rubber floor mats protect a calm sea of black carpet which covers the floor. Within the center of the buckets resides a B&M ratchet shifter. A near mint condition vinyl headliner tops off the interior. Drivetrain A strong running 350ci V8 resides under the metal hood. A worked 700R4 automatic transmission with a 2200 RPM stall converter is bolted to the mill. This power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 12-bolt rear with 3.02 gears. New front tubular a arms, idler arm, and centerlink, with front and rear sway bars. Front disc brakes with drilled rotors are seen as well. Note that rear suspension is all new. Flowmaster exhaust system can be seen from below. As noted above this car is a goer, and consigner states that this car needs regular exercise, and is a great cruiser. At 65mph the tach reads 1700RPM, so thats cruising! All on 87 Octane regular gas. Now thats a gas!

Designs were changing, moving away from traditional tail fins being replaced by deep sculpted rear panels, dual headlamps, larger greenhouse passenger compartments, and upgrades in suspension and engine options. Interior finishes such as color keyed door panels, and brushed aluminum began at this time as well. Through generations 1 to 3, styling got sleeker, passenger compartments lower, and emphasis was on a look of a car in motion, when it was sitting still. Flashy muscle cars are fun, and polished customs are nice, but, for some folks, theres nothing better than a well-done cruiser. No gimmicks, no frills and no drama; just sun and fun - LOTS of fun. This exceptionally clean Impala is a classy stunner that mixes a factory 250 cubic inches of power with a 3-speed drivetrain, some new upgrading, and tasteful aesthetics. Exterior Butternut Yellow covers the metal surfaces and presents in good condition. Chrome is nicely preserved, and all original badging, and brite work are on the car. Glass is in showroom condition, and newly installed door and window rubber are noted. American Racing Mags are on all 4 corners and are covered with new rubber. Lines are all straight, gaps are good, and from bow(tie) to stern this Impala is truly original. Interior Upon swinging the door open your eyes are met with an immaculate interior, with black vinyl benches in front and rear. Doors have matching pattern and are in the same pristine condition. Dash and steering wheel are all Impala original and working perfectly. An aftermarket triple gauge cluster hangs below the dash, and above a sea of very nice black carpeting. A perfect dark gray headliner, as well as factory air that blows cold, it doesnt get any better than this. Drivetrain The factory 250ci inline 6 is fed by Clifford Twin Weber 38 Full delivery..express delivery, as a slow steady press on the accelerator and this car goes and goes. Going through the gears via the shifter on the tree, the driver gets just smooth power up to the point where you can cruise effortlessly. New headers, and exhaust system allow the mill to clear its spent gasses quickly. All this in a very clean and organized engine bay, which could be also from the dealer showroom. Undercarriage As expected from the topside condition, we could make use of the term clean as a whistle! No leaks seen which is highly unusual on a car of this age. Drum brakes all around can bring you safely to a halt. Floor pans, and body mounts are excellent and original. Overall good condition Butternut Yellow with excellent interior, three on the tree, and a well-fed mill, this car could be your daily driver, it exudes that much confidence. This cruiser will take you back to an era when Am radio was king, and the Sunday drive was almost a religious ritual.

Absolutely no reproduction parts for this restoration, and it shows very well today. Check out the photos for this beautiful color combination, exterior and interior. Take me back to 1965 and in style! Exterior A frame off restoration, and as mentioned in the intro only NOS Chevrolet parts were used if something needed to be replaced. Sprayed red, and a new white convertible top which is pristine and in full working order, this car is gorgeous. High end Chevrolet SS hubcaps which emulate a turbine with a fake knockoff propeller in front and an SS logo at the hub. And the ultimate, lets throw on a set of fender skirts to really have the car ooze midcentury modern. Hey, its the 60s baby, and this car is a great example from bowtie hood at the head to chrome tipped duals which peek out below a nice chrome bumper on the toe. Interior A drop of the top reveals just how nice the interior can be. From the chrome trimmed white vinyl buckets, that flank a near perfect center console to the fully optioned dash that houses a factory tachometer, AM/FM multiplex stereo which pumps out wonderful sound. A power trunk release, 4-way flasher, and throw in some factory front and rear bumper guards and a right-side mirror (are we really in 1965?) Cool! But wait...throw in some stunning red carpet, add red paint to the dash and steering column, and top this all off with a two-tone red and white original steering wheel, and now you are really talking. Drivetrain A 327ci V8 attached to a smooth automatic transmission, is controlled by a floor mounted shifter. All pristine, and in an engine bay that is cleaner than most restaurant kitchens (well, maybe not), but its clean...repainted the original factory orange on the block and valve covers, new hoses and a rebuilt shiny master cylinder, and we are ready to show and go. Undercarriage A solid frame, as well as floor pans, fenders, and suspension, all in very nice condition. Power steering and power drum brakes are seen, with a 12-bolt rear. Some minor rust through on the underside of the doors is seen, however with the restoration seems to have been contained. It is hard to imagine that a full restoration was done 20 years ago, and the car literally looks like you, your wife, and kids just drove it off the showroom floor. Turn the key, listen to the purr, and feel the wind in your Brylcreemed hair, and think to yourself life is good.

1965 Chevrolet Impala SS Super Sport. Original 6 cylinder Powerglide. This is a car that has been around Denver since new. It is an original 6 cylinder SS Car. This Car has a rebuilt engine, a 250 cu in, not original engine(the owner did a exchange engine...oh well) 2 speed Powerglide is original with SS option with console, t shifter and clock and radio delete. This car does not have tach or gauges, except for a vacuum gauge on the far right next to the speedo. The Paint and Interior was redone in 94, just as original. It has some rust on the quarters and front fenders and it will need a new trunk floor. It runs, drives and stops well. The carb needs a rebuild, the suspension is in excellent condition, the car is solid. The doors and trunk close like it did when new. The window weather stripping needs to be replaced. Its showing 93,000 miles. All the glass is in really good condition, Needs some of the trim, head light bezel on the right, trim under the trunk, both outer tail lights are broken. It has a set of Corvette wheels on it or you can have a set of Cragars that were on the car since the 70s. The Original 1965 SS Wheel covers with spinners come with it. This is a really solid car.
