If you look through our inventory, youll see that Streetside Classics is quickly becoming Sting Ray Central. We have a lot of cars at all price points, but if youre looking for a great mid-year coupe, please take a good, long look at this 1965 with a thumping L78 396/425 under the hood and a high quality restoration that was built to enjoy. Refinished just a few years ago in lovely Nassau Blue, this fantastic big block coupe has a long list of fresh components and extensive restoration behind it and it shows. Using two-stage urethane, they captured the original Nassau Blue quite well and it shows off solid fiberglass bodywork, excellent gaps, and sharp details. Its both aggressive and sophisticated, which is perhaps where the Corvette is most comfortable, although with side pipes its hard to disguise the fact that this was one of the most potent cars on the street in 1965. The list of new equipment includes all the emblems, the rear bumpers and taillights, door handles, and the flip-up gas cap, all of which remain in as-new condition. The list of new gear inside is even more extensive, starting with the bright blue seat covers, which replace the original stuff exactly. New foam underneath makes them as comfortable as they look, and with only gentle use since the work was completed, they have that perfect lived-in look that makes old Vettes so appealing. Of course, they didnt stop with just seat covers, this car received new door panels and hardware, fresh carpets and padding, and a new dash pad. All the knobs and handles, including those on the original AM radio, were replaced, and the gauges show bright markings including the tach with towering 6500 RPM redline. To be honest, theres more thats new inside than old, and they didnt miss anything, including the clock, which was rebuilt. The L78 was a one-year-only engine that remains one of the real miracles of GM performance engineering. Since GM didnt want engines larger than 400 cubes in anything other than a full-sized car, the L78 396/425 was developed using a lot of unique parts that were never seen again. A 4-bolt main block, porcupine cylinder heads, and a rather aggressive cam that permits that 6500 RPM redline. This engine carries a correct IF suffix code and 3855962 block, strongly suggesting that its the cars original piece. It was rebuilt and beautifully tuned so its a runner, not just pretty, and thanks to the side pipes, this one cackles and barks like a full-race piece. It also looks fantastic with its round air cleaner, plain valve covers, and trick exhaust manifolds that resemble a shorty header. Although its tough to see from above, all the little stuff is new, including the distributor, radiator, alternator, master cylinder, and the windshield wiper motor. Underneath, its backed by a rebuilt Muncie 4-speed and a correctly restored chassis with all the right parts. Correct 15-inch knock-offs now wear 215/75/15 whitewall radials, which recreate the original look. Fully sorted and with enough new components to open an auto parts store, this is a Corvette you can drive anywhere with confidence. Its also beautifully finished, making it a great choice if you want to experience all that the Corvette hobby has to offer. Call today!... Read more

With Corvettes, you either get a car you shouldnt drive (matching numbers trailer queen) or a car that you cant resist driving. This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette roadster falls into the latter category, packing a period-correct 327, a 4-speed, side pipes, and a fantastic color combination. If want a Mid-Year Vette to drive, this 65 delivers with a more reasonable price tag. Finished in beautiful Nassau Blue paint, this Corvette roadster is one of those rare cars that can be driven and enjoyed while it appreciates as an investment. And now that Corvettes are grade-A collectables, even the driver-grade cars like this are going to be as safe as money in the bank. The fiberglass body is quite straight, with crisp body lines and doors that close with that unique Corvette sound. Two-stage urethane paint replicates the original hue, a handsome bright blue that was the most popular color in 1965. It shines up well and plays quite well on the C2s dramatic shape, with the finished product being the very definition of fun in the sun. Its not perfect and you wont want to park this one in a trailer, but for a car that begs to be driven, its exactly right. They didnt take any liberties with the car, either, so it wears a correct hood, reproduction badges, and brightly chromed bumpers that show well despite their age. Corvette stylists were hitting on all 8 cylinders when the Stingray was designed, so you get a well-detailed interior thats uniquely American with a lot of European influences. The black bucket seats wear reproduction seat covers that match the originals and they have a somewhat inviting look that isnt perfect but isnt worn out, either. Replacement carpets and door panels help add to the consistent feeling inside, and there are great-looking analog gauges in the instrument panel. Again, there are no modifications to distract you from the authentic feel of a vintage Vette, but a new radio might be a wise investment (the original radio is there but it is sadly not operational). Theres a white convertible top that fits so well we were almost afraid to put it down, and the rear window isnt cloudy or cracked. Driver grade isnt a bad thing when it looks this good and works this well. Numbers matching is critical on an investment-grade Corvette, but it isnt mandatory if you want to drive. The L75 327/300 under the hood is a date-code-correct 1965 327 rebuilt to stock specs and ready to hit the road. Correct Chevy Orange paint covers all the engine surfaces, and they resisted the urge to upgrade it along the way. A chrome air cleaner lid, beautiful finned valve covers, and a factory-style alternator add authenticity, but theres no denying the appeal is in how it runs. Rams horn exhaust manifolds lead to those cackling side pipes and the rest of the chassis is in good order, although not detailed for show. Up close youll see factory power steering and a Muncie 4-speed transmission, so it drives even better than it looks, and with 1965 being the first year for 4-wheel disc brakes, its extremely competent out on the road. Pretty knock-off wheels with spinners look awesome on any C3 Corvette and they wear 7.75-15 bias-ply whitewalls for a correct look. Still modestly priced, this 1965 Corvette roadster is a car you can still show with pride, drive with a big grin on your face, and it will always be worth at least what youve spent on it. Over its sixty-plus year existence the Chevrolet Corvette has been offered in a variety of versions – with some more rare and desirable than others.  This is one of those cars.  Featuring the racing-purposed 36-gallon fuel tank, which remained one of the least-ordered items on the option list, this coupe is one of a scant forty-one “big tank” Corvettes built in 1965.  Adding to its rarity, this Corvette is believed to be the only green exterior with green interior big tank with a 327/365 horsepower engine and air conditioning ever built and is one of two documented 1965 365 horsepower air condition equipped “tankers” in existence.  Original in every way, the coupe retains its matching numbers L78 small-block engine, 4-speed manual transmission and 3.36:1 positraction differential.  Handling and performance are enhanced by the factory four-wheel power disc brakes.  This unique Corvette was ordered with every available option and is outfitted with the desirable off-road exhaust system and finned aluminum knock-off wheels.  Inside the original cabin is the green leather interior with tinted glass, power windows, AM/FM radio and a teakwood steering wheel on the telescopic steering column.  This rare Glen Green 1965 Chevrolet Corvette tanker was built at the St. Louis plant on March 8, 1965 and shipped to Norrington Chevrolet in Kansas City, MO.  It was later restored in the mid 1980’s and still looks great from every angle.  Not surprisingly this Corvette coupe has earned a Bloomington Gold certificate, two NCRS Duntov Awards and was twice featured in the Bloomington Gold Special Collection.  The C2 Corvettes’ are one of the fastest appreciating investments in the automotive world; so, don’t miss a great opportunity to own a piece of Corvette history with one of the most desirable vehicles ever built loaded with plenty of factory options! Stock Number:  CCJG65VIN:  194375S111760Miles:  2,233 miles showing on the odometer (this vehicle will be sold as mileage EXEMPT)Engine:  Numbers Matching 327 CI V8 with 365 Horsepower  Engine Block Number:  3782870Engine Casting Date:  B105Engine Stamp Pad:  5111760 F02I2HMTransmission:  4-Speed Manual (S111760 Stamped on Transmission)Rear Axle:  AN121965 (3.36:1 Ratio – December 19,1965)Trim Tag Info:  Build date H8 (March 8, 1965 - St. Louis, MO) Paint Code 900GG (Glen Green) Trim Code 431AH (Green Leather)Equipment:  Air Conditioning, Power Disc Brakes, 36 Gallon Fuel Tank, 4-Speed Manual Transmission, Off Road Exhaust System, Transistor Ignition, Power Windows, Tinted Glass, Teakwood Steering Wheel, Telescopic Steering Column, Quick Take-Off Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM Radio, Comfort and Convenience Group, Glen Green Paint, Green Leather Interior  Items Included with the Car:  Keys, Copy of Bloomington Gold Special Collection Certificate, Copy of NCRS Gold Certificate, Title Search and Owner History Information, Copy of Gold Spinner Certificate, Copy of Duntov Work of Excellence AwardAwards:  (NOT included with car) Two NCRS Duntov Awards, Gold Spinner, Bloomington Gold Certified, Bloomington Gold “Special Collection”Condition Code:  (3) * (see condition code chart for explanation of category codes 1-5)Warranty:  This vehicle is being sold AS-IS  To learn more about condition codes, the term “numbers matching”, conditions of sale, and Hendrick Performance, please see the bottom of this page for details and clarification. ... This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible has its numbers-matching, fuel-injected V8. And Vette fans know this is the last year FI machine for almost two decades. That makes this well-presented example significant, rare, and absolutely cool. Before we get into all of the hardware that will make you drool over this Chevrolet, take a moment to appreciate the details. The factory-correct Nassau Blue is one of our favorite colors for a convertible, and a modern clearcoat respray gives it a nice gloss in the sunshine. So the paint lives up to its tropical name, which will make you feel like cruising the beach road. And the bright white convertible top gives this whole package the appeal of a cresting ocean wave. Only 771 fuelies were made in this final year, and so you want a car that has been treated with respect. So pay attention to how the headlights open smoothly, all the trim is bright and complete, and how the doors close with authority on this example. Inside, theres a deep black on the carpets, bucket seats, and dash. The rest of the interior is also factory-correct from the AM/FM radio to the heat/defrost controls... even the clock is still ticking away. Sitting in the drivers seat is an experience with the grippy three-spoke steering wheel that is truly worthy of a vintage sports car. Beyond that is a full set of gauges, including the large tach. And did you notice the redline number? Its an indication of something special under the hood. While this is already a stellar Sting Ray, what makes this the star of every car show is its engine bay. Few people were willing to pay for the pricy L84 option that added Ram-Jet fuel injection. That means this 375 hp Sting Ray a rare member of Corvette royalty. But what makes this motor irresistible is that its the exact powerplant this convertible had when it left the St. Louis factory over a half-century years ago. It only gets better when paired with the Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission. That way you have full control over the power and the muscular soundtrack from those attention-grabbing sidepipes. And speaking of control, this is the classic for people who love to drive. The Corvette was just beginning the big block era, but the high horsepower and lower weight of the 327ci FI cars provided an ideal balance out on the road. And when paired with a fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes, this is the vintage convertible that excels on the back roads. Complete with owners manual, this is the Sting Ray for those who love driving their history. If youre a true collector, dont miss this opportunity. Call today!!!... Read more

For sale in our Nashville showroom is an incredible 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. This Big block Corvette for sale looks a bit evil in all black. The exterior is a high gloss black that look like it is still wet. Open the door and the chrome shifter is prominent between the two black vinyl bucket seats. Now the only way to complete this combination is with a black soft top and the cherry on top is the optional black hardtop. If you think this sound like a bad boy, peel back the hood and the wide valve covers that are the trademark of a Chevy big block will send a shiver up your spine as you imagine the tire frying burn outs that this 396CID V8 and 4 speed manual transmission are very capable of. But we all know that the C 2 is also a capable car in the corners as well, with the signature independent rear suspension this big block C2 for sale is more than just a great looking car. Sporting 4 wheel disc brakes, knock off rims (and I don t be counterfeit) and side pipes this 65 Vette for sale is too cool for school. Now personally, I have a love affair with big block Chevys, but what s not to love about an engine that straight from the factory produces enough torque to snap your neck but with a little money and some twisting of wrenches, make tons more? Options for this 1965 Corvette includes: AM/FM radio, Manual convertible top, Removable hardtop, Seats belts, Vinyl Interior, Posi traction and radial tires with raised white letters. This Corvette was rescued from a garage in 2013 and received a full frame off restoration starting April of 2013. The original 327 CID engine received a full rebuild in 2013 getting new pistons, cam, lifters, valves, springs, and valve guides. It was also upgraded to have both Power Steering and Power Brakes. The original transmission received a full rebuild including a new custom Hurst Shifter. The gear ratio is 4:11 with a Posi Rear End making this car a dream to drive. The suspension, brakes, radiator, gas tank, fuse box, Wiring harness, and more have all been replaced with new parts. After all the hard work was done it was finally ready on May 2nd of 2017 to receive its new paint. The color chosen was Rally Red Lacquer Paint, and it received a lacquer clear coat as well which gives this Corvette an extremely shiny and aggressive look. With a red exterior the clear favorite for the interior is always black. Inside is the great color Combination of a black vinyl interior. It has bucket seats and the instrument panel has been completely restored and finished to look as good as it did when it rolled of the assembly line in 1965! Hop into this bad boy fire it up with the turn of the key and listen to the side pipes exhale the beautiful music this Corvette makes. The Gateway Classic Cars Showroom of Saint Louis is thrilled to offer this second-generation candy cane colored 1965 Chevrolet Corvette, which enjoyed a frame-off restoration back in 2000, which included a new interior upholstery and a new exterior paint job. BACKGROUND: The Four-wheel disc brakes were introduced in 1965, as was a big block engine option: the 396 cu in (6.49 L) V8. Side exhaust pipes were also optionally available in 1965 and continued to be offered through 1967. The introduction of the 425 bhp (317 kW) 396 cu in (6.49 L) big block in 1965 spelled the beginning of the end for the Rochester fuel injection system. (source: Wikipedia) This 1965 Corvette was built initially on December 4, 1964, restored thirty-six years later, and today the exterior still shines exceptionally well, and the interior does not look like anyone ever sat in them for extended periods of time. With its interior and exterior color combination, this second-generation Corvette is a head-turner, and one of the reasons you would strongly consider buying it. The quality of its condition is good enough to win car shows, but not so pristine that you would hesitate to drive it more frequently. There is no investment needed here. This classic beauty is plug & go and to drive from day one! Well help you with shipping, but you may want to go ahead and drive this one home and down Old Route 66. Underneath the hood is a well-maintained, strong accelerating and smooth idling 327 that is backed by a four-speed manual transmission that wont disappoint. In short, you have every reason to inquire further about this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette by viewing it in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video of the car running and driving at our website - http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com. For even more information, please call 618-271-3000 or email STL@GatewayClassicCars.com to speak with one of our knowledgeable sales consultants.... Read more
