The Malibu SS was offered for only 2 years before the SS became a Chevelle only option. Compound that special status with it being an SS Convertible, with a believed to be numbers matching 327 engine, and what we present to you here is an opportunity to buy one very special car. When you are starting with a car this special by nature, you want to make sure to get the details right during the restoration. They did. The car was restored to be completely stock in appearance as it would have looked on the showroom floor in 1965. Of-course that starts with proper preparation. You can see that the body panels were worked and adjusted so that they were straight and the gaps between them consistent before a drop of that Red paint went on them. Then new chrome and trim was sourced for a super clean look. Up front, the blacked-out grill is the correct SS piece with some of that fresh trim surrounding the quad headlights with a bright shiny bumper underlining it. There is a 327 emblem on the front fender and Malibu SS on the rear with new wheel well and rocker chrome looking sharp too. The back of the car looks great with Chevrolet in script trimmed out with black and brightwork and another shiny new bumper. The interior worked the same way. Keep it stock. Stock just happens to be an absolutely gorgeous two-tone Red interior. The door panel has a red top and dark red bottom with horizontal pleats and chrome piping. The seats look awesome with pleated dark red center sections surrounded by smooth red panels. The upholstery work is outstanding and the craftsmanship carries through on the back seat and roof boot too. A red steering wheel with a semicircular chrome horn ring sits in front of an aluminum dash panel that is tucked between a padded red upper and painted red lower. The panel and gauges are meticulously polished up and detailed out with the tach in the center, the speedo on the left and the engine gauges on the right. A T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission sits in the center console and Malibu SS appears in script on the glove box. Red carpets are of course perfect and protected by red vinyl floor mats. The whole interior is fresh, clean and just like new. Under the hood you will find that precious, original, 327. It has also been restored to all its showroom original glory and is nestled down in an engine bay that received as much attention to detail as the rest of the car. There is even an original GM washer bottle mounted in its proper bracket on the inner fender well. A black snorkel air filter housing with a 327 Turbo-Fire decal sits on top of a four-barrel carburetor. The engine iron is painted the correct color of Chevrolet Orange as are the valve covers which also have decals proudly announcing it as the 327 Turbo-Fire 300 Horsepower motor. All that power is sent back through a 2-speed automatic transmission to the rear axle which rides on trailing arms and coil springs. Power steering works through control arms with coil springs and a sway bar up front and power brakes provide good stopping power. The car sits 205/75R14 white wall tires all around which are mounted on steel wheels with center spin wire wheel covers. An awesome car because it is a beautiful, classic, Red convertible V8. Very special because it is a rare, numbers matching car that has been restored to all its stock, original glory. Come on down and check it out.
This is one of the most beautiful 65 Malibus that you will ever find! Thats certainly a pretty bold statement, but one we think you will agree with when you check this car out. It is the product of an over the top frame off restoration with some sweet upgrades and lots of new parts. The Light Sapphire Blue paint on this car is absolutely gorgeous! That didnt happen by accident. Its the end result of plenty of attention to detail in order to get the panels straight and true, and the gaps lined up neat and consistent. The effect is that reflections cut a straight line down the side of the car, even across the panel gaps, and the clear coat shine is miles deep. The chrome and stainless is all new and starts up front with the ridge of chrome down the hood pointing at Chevrolet lettered across the front. The grill of horizontal bars is flanked by quad headlights, has a red, white and blue bowtie in the center, and is underlined by a fresh, new and shiny bumper. Crossed racing flags appear on the front fenders and Malibu/Chevelle in script on the rear fenders. The rear is a rectangular affair, outlined in thin chrome with bold chrome strips connecting the taillights and Chevrolet in the center. Open the door and prepare to be as equally impressed by the interior work as you were with the body and paint. It is done in Black vinyl and is spotless, neat and clean. The door panel is simple in rectangular panels with chrome piping running across the top and bottom. The seats are freshly reupholstered and comfortable, so go ahead, settle in and wrap your hands around the steering wheel. It is a black two spoke wheel with a chrome semi-circular horn ring and a bowtie center button. There is a shifter for the modern automatic transmission on the column behind it, and behind that, a meticulously detailed out chrome dash panel with Dakota gauges mounted in place of the originals. Vintage Air keeps you cool on those hot summer days and there is an AM/FM radio for your listening pleasure. A new headliner and carpeting tie everything together and complete the flawless look of the interior. Under the hood you will find a more of that meticulous attention to detail lavished on a modern drivetrain nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. Flat black and red is the theme starting with the black air topper graced with Chevrolet and a bowtie in red. Under that, technology takes over for easy starting and efficient power with a FITech fuel injection system. The aluminum manifold is detailed out nicely adding some flash to the look and the valve covers are black with red lettering too. An aluminum radiator keeps things running cool and stock exhaust manifolds send the spent gases back through dual Flowmaster mufflers. Power flows back through a THM700R4 transmission to a 10-bolt rear end with 3.36 gears. The chassis of the car received as much love as the body and interior so go ahead, have a good look. Everything is new and spotlessly clean. Power front disc brakes assure good stopping ability if you decide to let the horses run, and power steering helps the car handle nicely. It may be a bold statement, but its a true one. This is one of the nicest Malibus you will ever find. Be sure to ask your salesperson about the folder full on build receipts and restoration photos when you come down to check it out.

This is a beautiful and rare 1965 Chevelle SS L79 Coupe! It is a documented L79 327/350 HP with factory 4-speed transmission. It was sold new by Appleway Motors in Dishman, Washington to a gentleman in northern Idaho. It remained in the northwest for several years and then was sold to the second owner from Northern California. The car remains mostly original with the exception of new Madeira Maroon paint and some new chrome plating and brightwork. It has a mostly original black interior and original chassis. It still has its original matching number L79 motor, M20 4-speed and a 12 bolt rear end. It is equipped with a clock, padded dash, comfort and convenience group, tinted windshield, rear seat speaker, AM radio, tach and gauges, bucket seats, center console and bumper guards. It is documented with the original window sticker, original protect-o-plate book, some owner history and maintenance records. It was owned, before we purchased it, by noted Chevelle collector Richard Fudge from Nashville, TN. We have proudly displayed it in our museum over the last several years and everyone enjoys seeing one of the rare ones!!!
Why This Car Is Special This Chevelle has looks, power and a fun factor that is sure to put a smile on the face of the next owner. Mechanical The 350 CID V8 puts down plenty of power to get this Chevy moving and a 4-speed manual keeps you in control at all times. New coil springs and all new shocks make this Malibu feel like its riding on air. The power steering is incredibly smooth and makes steering almost effortless, so you can focus on grabbing that next gear! The 10-bolt rear end puts the power to the ground nicely and the new dual exhaust has a great sound. The HEI system provides a strong spark and reliability to keep you cruising. Interior The interior is black vinyl with bucket seats and the shifter on the floor. A custom box has been made for the AM/FM/Cassette player, so the dash wouldnt have to be cut. This can be removed or relocated if you desire. The black vinyl upholstery is in great shape and this Malibu has seat belts for added safety. The shifter is a Hurst with white shifter knob that is comfortable and screams horsepower. When people think Hurst, they think muscle car, and this Chevelle is no exception. The trunk is very clean and presents nicely with a correct trunk mat and full size spare tire. Exterior The Dark Blue Metallic paint fits this body style very well and is sure to garner attention at shows. The rally wheels look great and add just enough chrome. The first generation Chevelles were boxy and sporty at the same time. It is a timeless look that has a huge following, and its easy to see why. Dual exhaust tips exiting the rear below the bumper look and sound great. This particular example has the trim down the sides and the hood which add just a bit of class and break up the blue wonderfully. Conclusion Dont miss out on this value priced muscle car that needs nothing but a new driver in the driver seat. It is a solid and clean example of what a mid 60s muscle car should be. 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Coupe A clone is when you take a standard, base model car and add options and equipment to make it into a copy of a rare, original muscle car using the same options such as trim, decals, hood scoops, and motor that the higher optioned cars had originally from the factory. In some cases, the cars look exactly like their muscle car replicas, but are less valuable because they are not authentic. Clones are a great way to own their more expensive counterparts and there is nothing wrong with making a clone. This 65 Chevelle Custom Clone is a 1965 body and chassis with virtually all new parts, upgraded engine, new paint, and various other conveniences added on. Absolutely a beautiful car that is very reliable, and mechanically sound. Lets call it a major facelift! Or maybe a rest-o-mod? Exterior Charcoal Gray Metallic perfectly covers the laser straight panels of this car. All new bumpers, grille, lights and Ridler 5 spoke rims complete the look for this beautiful car. Badging is pristine and all correct on this virtually new car from 1965. Interior Swing open the doors and find yourself in a world of new black vinyl seating meaning buckets in the front, and a bench in the rear, showroom new but custom built. Right down to the chrome trim running vertically on the back corners of the front seats, things are looking really nice. New carpet floods the floor, and it is magnificent as to its condition. Seen fronting the buckets let your eyes take in the Classic Thunder road dash, peppered with Autometer gauges, youll know the exact status while you are tearing down the road. If its road noise you like to dampen, switch on the custom sound system, which can stream your favorite tunes through Bluetooth, boosting the quality with a high efficiency 400 Watt 4-channel amplifier, and full range speakers throughout the front and back. Looking through the tinted glass is a bit like looking at the world through rose colored glasses, only you are looking at the real thing. Drivetrain 383ci Stroker puts out 400hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. A cast iron block mates with fast burn aluminum heads. Hypereutectic pistons forged from aluminum and machined to very close tolerances, are moved by connecting rods created from heavy duty PM steel. To reduce weight an aluminum alternator, and aluminum intake are installed. Atop is a Holley 750 double pumper carburetor. Attached to the back of this engine is a modified Turbo 350 transmission actuated by a B&M Quicksilver automatic shifter. Undercarriage A peek underneath, and you will need sunglasses due to the ultra shine that is there. An oversized radiator can be seen with an attached electric fan. A new power steering pump, and new disc brakes have been added. New Bilstein shocks are noted, as well as the gorgeous headers and piping for the entirely new free flow exhaust system. A rebuilt posi rear with 3.73:1 gearing has been used in this rebuild. If you dream of a 1965 classic Malibu that you can get in, turn the key, and have instant enjoyment without the worry and constant wrenching you will have with an original, the tinkering, searching for parts, and the frustration of yet another mechanical problem, your answer is here with this wonderfully constructed clone.
