This magnificient '62 Corvette was purchased 37 years ago by a real car enthusiast and cherished ever since. He passed away a few years ago and his wife is finally able to let it go. It has parked in the basement since day 1. I am thrilled that she came to me to find it a good home. I can honestly say this is the best driving '62 Corvette that I have ever driven. All that aside, if you are looking for the real deal that has never been advertised before, here it is. Shortly before he passed away the car underwent a no expense spared, frame-off restoration. We have pictures of everything and we welcome any type of inspection. As you can see, it is a fuel injected car with a four speed transmission and the optional hardtop. I believe the pictures speak for themselves. The car is located in a suburb of Atlanta and you are most welcome to come and see it. I will be very surprised if the first qualified buyer to see it does not buy it. $89,500
Excellent shape! has stayed under a garage most of it's life. Absolutely stunning would make a great present. Hard top comes with purchase as well as a book with pictures of each owner. This corvette is in mint condition everything is original on it.
Youre looking at a car that has no equal. This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette is the kind of restomod that takes the ionic style and adds everything you could want. So while youre enjoying the performance of a modern LS1 V8 with a fully independent suspension, and the comfort of leather-clad A/C interior, youll also be winning awards in a unique build that has been customized over every inch. This car doesnt try for a moment to hide its uniqueness. The bright, bold Millennium Yellow is not only out of a more modern color pallet, but also Corvette people will respect it instantly for how rare it is even when they offered it on the C5. This final-year first-generation Corvette was the right place for this speedy color. It retains the iconic design lines that made the Corvette Americas sports car, but the car evolved with a less fussy front end and the duck tail rear that really made these look like they were ready to take on all the other cars out there. And like any good 60s machine there was plenty of brightwork. Everything from the intricate form-fitting split bumpers, to the delicate trim that runs the full-length of the front fender it all has the mirror-like quality of serious investment. But there are also terrific modern details, too, that make this a true standout. It includes the Z06-style chrome wheels, HID headlights, custom taillights, cowl hood with LS1 proudly displayed, and the black folding roof that looks great against the black cowl insert to ensure that this custom Vette looks great even with the top up. A car this cool on the outside is going to wow you on the interior, too. Those Cadillac cream leather seats fit so perfectly between the C1s iconic waterfall tonneau, but we guarantee the modern buckets will hold you better than anything out of the 60s ever could. And we know you love how nicely the colors are coordinated inside. Not only is the same cream used for the doors, dash, shift boot, and even carpet piping, but also the burnt orange insert on the seat is repeated on the doors and steering wheel. It creates a striking and uniform package that lets you know this custom Vette could win awards on the interior alone. And more than just look fantastic, there are plenty of great comfort features like the full Auto Meter gauge package, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and provisions for power windows. Best of all, theres ice-cold modern R134a air conditioning, so you can stay cool while looking cool driving with the top down any time of year. Everywhere you park, you wont be able to resist lifting the hood and showing off this exceptional engine bay. Just like the rest of this custom build, youre looking at a heavy investment in creating a fully-coordinated package. Everything under the hood is yellow, black, or chrome and it stays true to this uniform presence right down to the performance air filter. And more than just the color presentation, the way the firewall is so smooth and the entire appearance is clutter-free, tells you this was a meticulous labor of love. Besides just looking great, youre going to love driving this one. Thats because the LS1 callouts were not lying. And you have complete control over this 5.7-liter fuel-injected power plant because GMs six-speed manual transmission was added, too. Out on the road, this handles like no C1 that you know. The SR111 Motorsports tubular chassis adds a level of stiffness these Corvette never had. Plus the fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes take this first generation car and bring it in line with some of the most modern Corvettes out there. And you might want to take some real time to look over all of this in the undercarriage photos, because there was a TON of $$$ getting this performance suspension polished and ready for primetime. There is a different caliber of custom car, and its the kind you can put a mirror under at any show. This is obviously that kind of upper-echelon machine. In fact, it already has gotten attention from national magazines, TV shows, and major awards. You even get a photo file documenting how something this detail-oriented was built so right. It usually takes a lifetime to get a car looking like this, but if youre lucky enough, the ultimate corvette could be yours tomorrow. Call today!!!
1962 was the end of an era for the Corvette. Harley Earls initial concept car went from show, to go, very quickly in 1953. By 1962 the cars design had been refined and the power improved to the point where it had earned a well-deserved reputation for performance and fun and was a legitimate rival for any sports car in the world. This one could become yours. Check it out. Red is just a great color for these cars. They had gotten away from the two-tone treatment and that gave the cove down the side of the car a whole new look. The sharp creases of the new rear fenders and the duck tail look would carry on and be refined on the next gen cars, but 1962 would be the last Corvette with a conventional trunk until the C5 convertible in 1998, and the 4 round taillight look would carry through on the back of all Vettes until 2014. Up front, the hood sloped down between quad headlights perched up on the fenders to an oval grill. A bar across the center visually connects the bumpers on each side which split side vents and wrap around the edge of the fender. It is all trimmed in a bold band of chrome and has Corvette in script on the hood along with those iconic crossed racing flags. Open the door and the Red with Chrome look continues on the interior. You might notice the ribbed aluminum rocker treatment and the polished door sill plate protecting it from scrapes as you slide in. The door panel itself has a smooth upper and a pleated lower with a nice armrest divided by a slash of chrome. A big red steering wheel with a Corvette center button sits in front of an arched dashboard with the speedo on top, the tachometer in the center and four pods for the fuel, temp, battery and oil gauges to the sides. There is a rear-view mirror perched on the dashboard just like the European cars of the day and below that is the radio, ventilation controls and clock. The shifter for the 4-speed manual trans falls easily to hand and just begs to be stirred around. The passenger has a grab handle in front of them with an aluminum trim in the cutout with Corvette spelled out, and the seats have been nicely recovered with pleated seating surfaces surrounded by smooth vinyl. Open the hood and you will find a period correct 327 V8 engine nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. 1962 was the first year the more powerful 327 was offered, replacing the 283. The car has signs of good regular maintenance with a new alternator, belts and hoses. Its topped by a chrome air filter housing and has finned aluminum valve covers with Chevrolet in script. No real frills or fancy stuff here, just an honest engine compartment with a survivor flavor to it. The chassis of the car is about the same with signs of good regular maintenance. Front disc brakes are a nice feature that will get the car hauled down to a stop in a hurry, and there are sway bars both front and rear. The rubber meets the road through 205/75R15s mounted on steel wheels with center spin hub caps. The best and last of the first-gen Corvettes. A legit rival for any sports car of the day. And the end of an era. This one could be yours. Come on down and check it out.

Corvettes are all about tradition. So more than just the enhanced V8, both tops, four-on-the floor, this 1962 Chevrolet Corvette is desirable because it has stayed in the same family all its life. So now its looking for someone to carry on the tradition. Not only is Roman Red the original color for the car, but also parts of it are the same that was applied at the factory over half a century ago. Thats what you get with a car that was part of a tradition. This convertible was a gift to the consignors father when he graduated college. He is the only owner of record, besides his son who inherited this Corvette. So it has a true lineage to go with some of its survivor-like qualities. More than just personal history, the 62 is a sought-after machine for being the final year for the first-generation Corvette. It has all the best classic elements like the quad headlights, bumpers that bisect the body lines, and a real trunk. Plus, only the last two years received the sporty ducktail rear end with the introduction of the now-iconic quad taillights. And because this has been cherished like a family heirloom, its complete right down to the factory wheel covers. This one even comes with both tops, so you can easily put the new white folding roof in place on a whim, or you can use the color-matched hardtop for a more coupe-like profile. Of course, your real favorite way to drive will be with no top at all. The highly original black interior still looks nice, and so youll proudly remain open to the world. Bucket seats and a deep dual cowl dash instantly make you understand that the Corvette is a sports car carved out specially for two people. When you grab the thin and grippy classic steering wheel, reach for the shifter, and watch the tach needle dance, you get a true tingle of old-school performance. The 327 cubic-inch V8 looks good with the large air topper and Corvette script valve covers. This is an upgraded later block that includes an upgraded camshaft and four-barrel carburetor (originals also come with the sale.) This was done so that this could be built closer to the performance of the desirable high-compression 340 hp Corvettes of 62. It has received the right care over the years, and even a new generator was installed earlier this year. So the powerful motor fires up readily, and it runs smoothly. And you get to take full advantage of it thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Complete with owners manual and car cover, this is a classic Corvette made even more desirable by its story to tell. So if youre looking for speed and distinction, dont miss this vintage icon. For sale in our Houston Showroom is this gorgeous 1962 Chevrolet Corvette. This is one for ages! Fresh out of a complete nut and bolt restoration, with a couple of minor upgrades (read on), this car is absolutely stunning and shines bright like a diamond in the sun. Originality is key with this Corvette, except for the fact that it has received new front disc brakes, new power rack and pinion steering, and an HEI ignition system; however, both improve its driveability significantly, without detracting from its originality. The car has a very straight body, with very clean lines on its all-original body, and it looks as good underneath as it does up top. It runs & drives very well, with plenty of power and torque from its 327 CID V8, and the smooth-shifting original T-10 4-speed manual transmission. The entire interior was restored, with new carpet and new seating, as well. This Silver Streak has a newly-rebuilt 327/340 HP engine, with an owner-stated original block and trans. However, when the engine was re-decked, the block pad stamping was damaged. Well not claim it as a numbers-matching car due to that, but it very well may be provable (call Horatio Caine, maybe?). It has a great close ratio T-10 4-speed manual transmission that shifts very smoothly up & down through the gears. It has beautiful original hub caps & new tires. Options on this 1962 Chevrolet Corvette for sale include AM Wonderbar Radio, Hub Caps, Seat Belts, Spare Tire and Jack, and Vinyl Interior. Overall, it s a very impressive car & has a combination that s given it that Look that makes YOU Look. This rare beauty is sure to please its next owner for many years to come. This vehicle is an absolute head turner and would make an amazing addition to any garage. One of Only 1,918 - Numbers Matching 360hp Fuel Injected 327C.I. V8 - 4-Speed Manual Ideal Classic Cars proudly presents this 1962 Corvette Roadster for sale. Chevrolet Corvette (C1) is the first generation of the now classic Corvette sports car introduced late in the 1953 model year and produced through 1962. In 1961, the rear of the car was completely redesigned with the addition of a duck tail with the now iconic four round lights. This tail light treatment would continue for all following model years of Corvettes. The most noticeable exterior changes for 1962 were the removal of the side cover chrome trim. Without the trim bright work, it was not possible to offer the coves in a contrasting color so for the first time since 1955 Corvettes were offered in solid colors only. A blacked-out grille and ribbed chrome rocker panel molding were new. The standard features now included an electric clock, dual exhaust, tachometer, heater and defroster, seat belts, outside rearview mirror and windshield washer. This was also the last year for features like the wrap around windshield, convertible-only body style, trunk lid and exposed headlamps that did not reappear for many decades. The most significant new feature was the option Code 582 Fuel-Injected 327 version producing 360 bhp making it the fastest of the C1 generation. This high performance engine was only ordered on 1,918 Vettes so made these cars very rare and collectible. 62 Chevrolet advertisements declared statements like Finest, Fiercest Yet. This confirmed what many Corvette enthusiasts believed that one of the best parts of the C1 Corvette is its ability to display a wide range of personalities without ever straying from its performance roots. From refined to sinister, a change of color is all it takes to show these cars in a new light. This 1962 Corvette definitely displays the mean and nasty side of sinister thanks to the bold Roman Red exterior with some serious firepower underneath that fiberglass. This Vette was an early October 61 production from GMs St. Louis line. It is the beneficiary of a very well done restoration and presents with great authenticity and feels every bit as good as it looks on the road. If you wanted the top option Corvette, the new-for-62 L84 327ci 360hp engine was the way to go. Of course, the main attraction of the engine bay is the Rochester mechanical fuel injection setup. This car is powered by a numbers matching engine and 4-speed manual transmission. The finned valve covers wear their age well and, at the back, the chrome ignition shielding adds some factory flash to the engine compartment. This Vette would definitely make a wonderful addition to anyones collection! Corvette boasted in their advertisements that Fuel Injection V8 and a four-speed box isnt a drive at all, its an emotional experience! True and this Roman Red Corvette Roadster with the 327/360HP will ensure driver and passenger excitement travelling down any style of road. Very fresh, it doesnt even look like its been driven yet. EXTERIOR: It is absolutely striking. The body and paint were not this good when they left the factory new. This body is straight and the body parts fit outstandingly well. The gaps are tight and flush. You can read the fine print on our contract in the reflection, it is like a mirror. I walked around it twice and cant find any flaws, no stress cracks, no chips. It is not full of reproduction trim. All of the chrome and stainless were sent to the east coast to be restored. Every single piece is pristine. The stainless around the windshield, top of doors and fenders is polished like chrome. The jambs are painted. New weatherstrips and window seals. Very things are more American than a bright red Chevrolet Corvette. First introduced in 1953, the Corvette became a household name overnight due to its spectacular performance and stylish design. The outer body was made out of then-revolutionary glass fiber reinforced plastic material and the original design had a inline-six cylinder engine, drum brakes and solid axle. Chevrolet was very close to shelving the whole Corvette program due to the train of thought that saw it was a failed venture for GMs entry level brand. Three factors saved the Corvette.
