Hard to top the style of a bubbletop Impala. With a restoration thats just plain elegant, a 348 with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and those tall 17-inch wheels, this 1961 Chevy is a rock star everywhere it goes. As a tasteful resto-mod, if style is your primary ambition, few cars can match this one. Everyone paints these cars red or black, but I can assure you that the guys who finished the bodywork on this Imp knew that subtle colors work well on dramatic sheetmetal. They were also very careful; every curve is smooth and unbroken, the flat panels are exceedingly flat, and every edge and corner is crisp and sharp. Im sure theres another substantial chunk of time tied up in hanging all the sheetmetal, because gaps are quite good everywhere you look. And then theres the paint, which doesnt bowl you over with color but the more you look, the more there is to like. Two-stage urethane looks so deep that you could fall in and drown, and as a backdrop for the brilliant trim its absolutely ideal, letting the chrome speak for itself. More color sanding and then some buffing brings out a great shine with only a few signs of use and age. Things like the virtually unobtainable front and rear windshields are in great shape, the trim was either re-chromed or polished, and nobody will ever mistake this Impala for anything else on the road thanks to the iconic triple taillights and dual antennas out back. Even better than the Fawn Beige paint is the sophisticated cream interior, which includes custom piping on the seats to tie it all together. Nicely restored using factory-style patterns, its both sporty and upscale. Pure 1960s cool covers every surface, from the bright trim on the edges of the seatbacks to the two-tone steering wheel to the beautifully restored instrument panel. All the original gauges are still monitoring the engine, and theres a Sun tach strapped to the column in the usual fashion. That Hurst shifter with the cue ball knob now manages a modern 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive, making this car a fantastic highway cruiser. The original AM radio is still in the dash, but theres also a modern AM/FM/cassette head unit hidden in the glove box so the dash still looks right. The trunk is very tidy, carrying a correct mat set, a spare tire up on the shelf, and no signs of distress on the metal itself Dont worry, theres still a 348 cubic inch V8 under the hood, beautifully dressed with lots of shiny bits like those gorgeous finned valve covers. Upgrades include a dual reservoir Wilwood master cylinder, a chrome alternator, and a K&N air cleaner. Then theres the Demon 4-barrel carburetor atop an Edelbrock intake manifold and the dual exhaust system that has a wonderful mellow sound and outlets just behind the rear wheels. Youll be delighted to see how clean the floors are, and with Wilwood front disc brakes, this cool bubbletop stops as well as it goes. The suspension is rebuilt, the shocks are fresh, and it goes down the road like a much younger car. Perhaps its most striking feature are those big Torque Thrust wheels, which wear 225/60/17 front and 235/60/17 rear BFGoodrich rubber. With a great look and pleasing road manners, this stunning Impala delivers in every way: looks, performance, and style. Call today!

After 25 years in a relationship with one person, this car is back on the dating scene looking for someone new to cruise with. It has a timeless sense of style, is smartly dressed, and has kept itself in great shape through all those years so is ready to get fired up to go rock and roll with someone new. Might that be you? Depending on your point of view, this car is wearing either a black evening gown or a black tux. Either way, it looks great in the clean lines the designers cut into its sheet metal and the distinctive look of the wraparound rear window. Referred to as a bubble top, it is rare and very desirable, only available on sport coupes for a few years. Up front, quad headlights framing an eggcrate grill are underlined by a bumper that continues the wraparound theme. A spear of chrome trim starts on the front fender adding a sporty look down the side with an Impala badge within its lines on the rear fender. But the most dramatic lines of this car can be viewed from the rear. The chrome of the spears on each side flow up to meet the top edge of the trunk, then bend down forming a V between an iconic set of triple taillights. Its a look found only on a 61. A simple, straight, clean looking bumper underlines the dramatic sheet metal enhancing the look even further. Open the door and you will find that high style from the 1960s continues in the interior. The door panel is a work of art in red, silver and chrome. The bench seats both front and rear are beautiful upholstered in Red cloth for the seating surface and trimmed with White and Red vinyl. The 2-spoke steering wheel is a dramatic design in two-tone red and white with an Impala badge in the center of its stylized spokes. The dash is neat and clean with a horizontal speedometer underlined by the engine gauges set into a polished aluminum panel with pull knobs and vent controls in a row below it. An AM radio still rests in its original place, but below it, hiding behind the polished aluminum glove box door is a newer radio for your listening pleasure. Below that is a set of Sunpro auxiliary gauges to keep accurate tabs on water temp, voltage, and oil pressure. Open the hood and you will find a healthy 350 cubic inch V8 nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. It started life as a 1969 Corvette block which was built up with the addition of a Holley carburetor and aluminum intake. Those are topped by a polished chrome air filter housing and the engine is dressed up with chrome valve covers embossed with Chevrolet Power. Power flows back through a TH400 3-speed trans and Flowmaster mufflers give this car a really nice exhaust tone. Signs of good regular maintenance are evident in the condition of the belts and hoses as well as the cleanliness and condition of the chassis components. A 67 Impala power steering box is one upgrade and a sway bar up front as well as heavy duty shocks all around help the car handle as good as it looks. The rubber meets the road through 251/75R14 white wall tires mounted on steel wheels with center spin hub caps. Stylish, smartly dressed, and ready to roll. What are you waiting for? Call the showroom and set a date to come on down and meet this sweet ride.
A great coordinated color theme, iconic big block power, and some nice upgrades (like an overdrive transmission) come together to make this 1961 Chevrolet Impala a very cool cruiser. Yes, this is the iconic and rare bubble top Impala. While all are considered desirable because this was only offered for a few short years, the 1961 coupe is arguably the best of the bunch. That skinny c-pillar and wraparound rear window is truly spectacular. Glossy red is a terrific color to instantly grab attention on a classic coupe. The streak of white running down the side makes this look positively sporty (and if you like it here, just check out the interior!) Of course, no 60s machine would be complete without great bright work. Not only does the investment in new wraparound chrome bumpers look fantastic, but all the intricate trim is complete, too. We especially love it on the full-length sweeping side piece that starts at the headlights, frames the cool white streak, and then continues to the rear where it helps create the distinctive dipping V trunk a feature you could only find in 61. The pillar-less hardtop setup allows people to get a good view inside, and thats going to make you extra happy. As hinted at before, the interior follows the same red and white color scheme as the exterior to give you the look a fully coordinated classic. You not only get this on the seats, headliner, and door panels, but even the steering wheel follows this factory-correct two-tone interior! Because this is meant to be a true cruiser, you get great upgrades like the detachable arm rest center console with cup holders, a VDO tachometer mounted on the steering column, and a vintage-style AM/FM stereo with digital tuner. Under the hood is the unmistakable appearance of the first big block from Chevy. The 348 cubic-inch V8 is appropriate for an Impala like this, and so its great to have this legend here. Plus, we know you love how the orange block, bright valve covers, and matching air topper all just seem to radiate power from inside that dark engine bay. Plus, you even get the extra power of a four-barrel carburetor. This helps deliver a nice rhythmic rumble from the side pipes as the torquey V8 moves this cruising coupe with ease. Speaking of enjoying the drive, the upgrade to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, power steering, and modern BF Goodrich T/As on American Racing wheels makes this a fine anytime classic. This icon looks great and drives great, which is exactly why you know its a great deal. Dont miss out, call today!
The last of the '67 Ford Shelby GT500 EXP notchback coupes known as "Little Red" is set for restoration
Award-worthy paint, custom A/C interior, four-wheel disc brakes, and a performance LS V8 under the hood this 1961 Chevrolet Impala convertible is a stunning one-of-a-kind restomod thats so unique and powerful that it cannot escape the spotlight. You already know why the 1961 Impala is such a cool ride. There were some nice touches that did not make it onto any other year, and so they are sought after by collectors today. And because the convertible was one of the most expensive Chevys, it also is the rarest version today. But rarity is not what attracted you to this one. From the moment you lay eyes on it, you can tell its full custom that was restored to have better precision gaps than even the factory could have made. Next comes the kind of deep black paint that you can understand how slick it is simply by how it radiates light even under our indoor lamps. The closer you get, the more luster and shine you pick up there was some serious investment in getting it looking this amazing. This one has all the right bright work elements from the large wraparound bumpers, to the full-length sweeping trim that also gives a nice hint of the interior color. In the rear is one of the most intricate forms ever put to sheet metal. The dipping V is something so daring you could only get it in 61. The final step to making this a truly distinguished drop-top is the wheel package. Not only are the modern Billet Specialties wheels staggered 18/20 inches front/rear, but also you have an electronically controlled air ride suspension. So you can make sure to have the perfect lowered stance wherever you park. While the black folding roof fits sung, you know this was a car that was meant to be shared with the world. And with the touch of a button, it electronically stows away to reveal an aggressive and tasteful interior. This is a full custom red setup, but if you look closely, you can see some nice tributes to great Chevys. After all, the rear seats still carry the central logo that once housed the rear speaker; you still get the extra long speedometer; and the inserts in the seats and door panels pay tribute to legends like the 57 Bel Air. But everywhere else you look, this restomod offers plenty of modern upgrades. Those bucket seats have modern bolstering for all-day comfort, and in between them is a custom center console. This houses the controls for the air ride suspension and modern R134a air conditioning. It also houses the AM/FM/CD/DVD/XM touchscreen stereo with connections for Bluetooth and a full subwoofer stereo system. But even with all these goodies, its the grip of the sports steering wheel and the stick shift that remind you this is a true drivers machine. As much as youll love showing off the interior and exterior, its the motor that will really draw all the crowds. Under the hood is modern 6.0-liter fuel-injected V8. It looks absolutely devilish with the full black presentation thats only broken up by the occasional red or polished component (just like the exterior.) And this modern LS powerhouse earns its aggressive presentation, because from the moment you fire it up, the grow of the dual exhaust lets you know there has been further investment in performance components. You are in complete control of this modern brute and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the strong Muncie four-speed manual transmission. But just because this has beastly power doesnt mean its hard to tame. Power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and the modern grip of Nitto performance tires keep you in firm control. Youre probably already imaging the places you can go and how fast youll get there in this complete build. So hurry and give us a call before the best Impala around goes to someone else! Call now!

This 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubble Top has been given all the right time and attention. That way you retain the iconic design, but now you also can enjoy a powerful dual-quad V8, slick modern paint, four-wheel disc brakes, an overdrive transmission, and much more. This one is truly a stunner from every angle. Chevy knew how to deeply sculpt the front end to make the headlights look they were out in front, and the hood had a crisp line within its full power bulge. In back, the bold dipping V of the trunk line was part of a seamless creation from the full-length side trim. And this element was so daring, that Chevy only offered it for one year. And of course, when you want attention everywhere from the boulevard to the car shows, nothing beats that bubble top profile. This one is worth the extra scrutiny because they invested in everything from the chrome to a modern shade of Sapphire Blue Metallic to make the whole car radiate in the sunshine. And while youre looking at the shine, dont forget to check out the 17-inch US Mags alloys theyre a hint that there are plenty more upgrades under the skin. Inside, the triple-tone interior is a classic Impala element. Plus, with it all finished in different shades of blue, this coordinates with the exterior to give the whole hardtop the full appeal of an ocean wave. This one has a terrific fresh feeling of investment, and they got all the details correct, right down to the trim on the door panels. But more than just a proper classic, this has also been upgraded to be a true cruising machine. You see it in the comfortable cloth inserts of the seats, and the retro-style radio thats an AM/FM stereo with digital tuner. Plus, with the Grant three-spoke sports steering wheel, tilt column, auxiliary gauge trio, and B&M floor shifter, you can also tell they made this more of a drivers machine. When you park this one, youre going to love opening the hood. The 348 cubic-inch V8 has been dressed to impress with a tidy setup, bright block, and plenty of shine on the alternator, upgraded pulleys, and so much more. Plus, underneath the long air topper is a dual set of Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors. And while we all know dual-quad performance will make you a street king, this also has been upgraded further with go-fast goodies like the an Edelbrock aluminum intake and headers that feed the rumbling dual exhaust. But this build was also much more thoughtful than just offering pure power. Thats why you have an aluminum radiator to keep it all running cool, even in traffic. And the four-speed automatic transmission has overdrive comfort so you can show this one off near or far. Plus, with power steering, modern Hankook performance tires, and slotted four-wheel disc brakes, this iconic classic really has the best of everything. Heres the legendary Chevy that has been given all the right investments to make it an amazing all-around stunner. Even the undercarriage photos show you how fresh everything is on this build. Something this complete and desirable is a rare opportunity, so call today!

At the beginning of the 1960 s, most Americans thought it was the beginning of something great, the start of the Golden Age is what it was referred to as. What better way to kick of the Golden Age than by introducing the very special 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubbletop 2-DR? First offered in the spring of 1961, this vehicle was very limited to the consumers. This particular vehicle however, has been fully restored, and is nothing short of the quality you would be paying for, had you been a customer in the spring of 1961. With a 348 Big Block Tri-Power engine, and a 4 Speed Manual Transmission you are getting your money s worth in terms of performance with this vintage engine. In 2008 this Impala won 2 Gold Bowtie Boulevard Awards ranking a whopping 991/1000 in the first examination and an even better 992/1000 in the second. Forty-seven years later, this vehicle is still viewed as highly as it was whenever first manufactured, if not higher than before! Let us look further than just the engine. Let us stop and appreciate the very unique and different Seamist Turquoise exterior, accompanied by the even more unique Turquoise interior. To top it all off, it only has 40,436 miles on it believed to be accurate. So before you begin to think about the reasonable sticker price of $69,998, I would first like you to first picture yourself in 2017, driving to your destination. However, not just simply driving, but allowing yourself to experience the happiness of driving a vehicle that everyone desired whenever first released. Driving in such style, that other people envy you solely for the style you have. Just driving, to appeal to yourself, and letting go of the stress you may have, and just simply utilizing the performance, beauty, and class of this 1961 Impala.

It is the definition of mint. Our client sourced this vehicle from California in 2006, found painted in non-original black paint. Over the past twelve years, he has rebuilt this car and it is now finished with just 589 miles recorded. Keeping true with the color scheme, he had the car professionally repainted in the original Fawn Beige paint that came on the car from the factory. Everything else has been upgraded from original. Varneys Autmotive of Muskegon, MI professionally built an awesome 409ci V8 motor for this car and hooked it up to a 4-Speed Muncie transmission. It has power steering, four wheel disc brakes, incredible Vintage Air AC system, and has a 3.55 Posi-traction rear end. The thick folder of receipts documents thousands invested in upgraded performance parts from steering and suspension to aluminum heads and a hydraulic camshaft. It has new glass, new leather seats, and a new digital dashboard as well. The car fires on command and for the few miles that have been driven, it is a remarkable driving vehicle. The car has won many local awards, including a Meguiars Magnificent Masterpiece Award at Goodguys PPG Nationals. Bottom line is you will not find a cleaner Bubbletop Impala on the market. And you certainly couldnt build this car to this level of perfection at the price we are asking. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if interested or e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking. I have owned this original California Car since 1992. It is a factory 4 Speed "Special High Performance" 348 which I have converted to a 409 SS. I got it out of the Bay Area. This car was built by 20 years of collecting parts and a 4 year professional, frame off restoration. All of the sheet metal is rust free, factory original with minimal body work. All of the aluminum trim (interior and exterior) is original or NOS. Every single nut, bolt, clip and fastener is a factory original with the correct markings. All parts used in the build are factory original to the car/NOS, except for the interior fabric, rubber hoses/seals, dual snorkel air cleaner (it is an $850 reproduction), and SS emblems (they are GM original tooling reproductions). The list of NOS parts used is exhaustive, but some pieces of note are the SS shifter console, floor mats, radio, upper and lower grille, dual rear antennas, Sun tachometer and transmitter, and the SS grab bar. The SS hubcaps are original restored (no stampings for the Impala emblems in the center) and are flawless. The paint is immaculate, and finished in the factory "Seamist Turquoise," code 917. The block and heads came out of a 35,000 mile 409/340 1964 SS. I had it bored .030 over with forged pistons and a mild cam for the complete rebuild. All other parts on the motor I got off of an original 1961 409/360hp! This includes the carb, intake, distributor, exhaust manifolds, water pump, fan and pulleys. This car has always been garaged in climate controlled storage, and transported via enclosed trailer. I firmly believe it to be the nicest example of 1961 Chevrolet in existence. It was built to enter any competition in the country and compete for Best of Show, which it has done 5 times at major regional shows. It scored 981 points at Impala Nationals in 2016, missing Best of Show on a split decision tie breaker (they awarded it to a car that had it's original motor...). They only deductions were for (coughing) "latent dust," stainless steel brake/fuel lines, and a Hurst shifter. I have extensive photos of the restoration I will send to serous inquiries. The photos do not do the car any justice at all, it is truly a remarkable vehicle. This car is kept in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I currently reside in Portland.
