This 1959 MG MGA Twin Cam is already a rare car that will turn heads. But when this classic also was given a careful restoration to showcase a beautiful color combo, great deign lines, and the special engine, then you know youve found a truly special classic roadster. There are a few bodystyles out there that make you say Wow! from the moment they come into view, and the MGA is in that very select class. The long flowing front fenders that help create the low-cut doorline; the aggressive rear fenders that kick up for the wheels; and the smooth and unmistakably European trunk (boot) design all of this combines to make for a car that looks sporty even when parked. You see all of this so well, because the Mineral Blue paint has a terrific luster that loves the sunshine. It was applied when this car was given a complete restoration in 2000 and treated with the best care ever since. Thats why the chrome grille and the bumpers look amazing on this example. Plus, all the rest of the brightwork, such as around the windshield, mirrors, and luggage rack make the MGA look like it was trying to offer Americans the 50s style we love. In reality, its just bowing to its T-series history. But unlike these earlier cars, when the weather does turn wet, the folding roof and side curtains are much more substantial to keep you dry for the drive home. A car like this is meant to be open to the world, thats why you have a wonderfully rich red interior. Against the deep blue exterior, the color combo gives this a dignified and very European first impression. These MGs are a great lesson in purist motoring, and the interior proves it. A grippy four-spoke steering wheel, clear Jaeger gauges, and a manual transmission those are the true essentials you need. Your senses will go into overload as you sit in the low-cut black bucket seat and gaze at the classic dash panel. Pull the start knob and then let the wind whips through the interior while you help fill it with the wonderful soundtrack from the motor. Under the hood is what makes this true British aristocracy. The twin-cam motor was an engineering marvel of its time, and its advanced design also became its limiting factor. Only around 1,800 roadsters were ever produced with this motor, and this one is believed to be original to the car. This special powerplant is ready to show off thanks to a tidy presentation, and this is from when the engine was rebuilt around the time of the full restoration. The exhaust gives a hypnotic tone as you discover the fun and control that the four-speed manual gearbox provides. And you might have noticed the special Dunlop racing wheels, which are correct, because the special and more powerful twin-cam cars also received four-wheel disc brakes. The original dealer invoice comes with the sale to prove the pedigree. Beautiful, tasteful, and a superior experience behind the wheel to even its siblings, this MGA is an amazing classic for those who love pure driving rarity. Call today!!!

Expertly restored, factory Twin Cam Roadster! Listed in the North American MGA Registry as vehicle #3552 representing one of only 2,111 examples ever built! Gorgeous Dove Gray over Red leather, rare aluminum hardtop with side curtains, Dunlop knock-off wheels, 4-wheel disc brakes, competition style wood steering wheel, and more! Rare opportunity for sports car collectors! The MGA is long hailed as one of British Motor Corporation best looking creations. Modeled for debut in 1955, it appeared with elegant curves that truly highlighted the all new classy, English roadster. British Motor Company had held onto its full-fendered, pre-war characteristic style well after most car manufactures had abandoned them for sleeker lines and aerodynamics. The MGA in all respects was a beautifully designed English sports car that retained all the underlying performance spirit of the T-Series it would replace, and had already proven on the track. It has cemented itself in the collector car world as a must-have for driver enthusiasts! As with all things motorsports, drivers seem to have an insatiable need to go faster! Heeding their responsibility to offer a competition model, BMC immediately went to work to produce a modified dual overhead camshaft performance engine. This feat came with several years of development before the first offering would hit showrooms in 1958 as the MGA Twin Cam Roadster. More than just an engine swap, the radiator along with the rack & pinion steering had to be moved further forward to make room in the engine compartment. The chassis itself was reinforced to help aid in the additional torque output, along with longer & stiffer steering arms fitted giving a slightly wider track width, a front sway bar installed, and 15 Dunlop knock-off steel wheels with 4-wheel disc brakes to provide suitable road manners and ample stopping power. Factory rated at 107hp with a 9.9:1 compression ratio, it was quite a leap from the standard 78hp base MGA engine. Only 2,111 Twin Cams would be built between 1958-1960 making them an exceptionally rare British sports car to find on the market today! We are delighted to offer this remarkable 1959 MGA Twin Cam Roadster finished in factory correct Dove Gray with Red Leather interior! This Twin Cam Roadster has seen an exhaustive nut & bolt restoration by a passionate owner between 2004-2008. With absolute nothing left untouched, it is fair to say this beautiful Twin Cam far exceeds the quality of most, and likely one of the finest around! Options include its original 1588cc engine with DOHC alloy head and twin SU H6 carburetors, 4-speed manual transmission, NOS 15x4 Dunlop wheels wrapped in Vredestein 165HR Sprint Classics tires, Dunlop disc brakes, Armstrong shock absorbers, twin batteries, Smiths instrumentation with correct 7K RPM tachometer, heater, telescoping steering column with wood steering wheel, fog light, black canvass convertible soft top, aluminum side curtains with storage bag hidden nicely behind the seat, and a very rare aluminum hardtop with custom storage rack! The restoration was fully documented with much of the service receipts, paperwork, owners manuals, photographs, and workshop manuals all included. The engine was fully rebuilt by engine specialist, David Brown, of David Brown Vintage Auto Engines based in Downers Grove, IL. He completely hot-tanked all engine components and magnafluxed the crankshaft & connecting rods. The block would be bored, align-honed, & resurfaced slightly at .006. The crankshaft would be polished, new Arias 76.5mm low compression pistons installed, resized & balanced the connecting rods, new Vandervell NOS rod bearings installed, cam bearings, & main bearings; regrind & lap valves, new half-speed shaft thrust plate; ARP head studs, rod bolts, main stud nuts, and oil pump, along with complete valve adjustments, hoses, belts, new water pump, rebuilt starter & generator, and updated Pertronix ignition hidden inside the factory distributor. This finished engine would sent to PHP Racengines, Inc. in Wauconda, IL for final run-in & tuning, resulting in 113 horsepower at 6k RPM and 107 ft. lbs. of torque! All gauges were rebuilt by Nissonger, the handbrake mechanism rebuilt by Todd Clarke and re-chromed, all exterior bright work rechromed, the Dunlop calipers restored along with clutch & brake master cylinders, pads, & rotors by White Post Restorations, all new stainless steel exhaust system, new stainless steel fuel lines with restored SU fuel pump & sending unit, shock absorbers rebuilt by Apple Hydraulics, rebuilt rear end with new bearings and 4.10:1 gearing (originally 4.30:1), all new wiring harness, and so much more! The car is an absolutely rust free Twin Cam Roadster that received all new wood floorboards, and a frame that was sand-blasted and painted. After extensive body preparation was completed, the exterior body was expertly repainted using PPG Deltron basecoat/clearcoat application in factory correct Dove Gray. The all-new leather interior & carpeting was completed by Heritage Upholstery and nicely highlighted with a competition style steering wheel, period correct Radiomobile radio, all new dash knobs, and original rearview mirror! All weather stripping and rubber was replaced on the entire body, auxiliary hardtop, and side curtains. Included with this car is also an impressive selection of original English tools, tire pump, factory matching spare tire, jack, and hub adapter for balancing the wheels. We cannot stress enough the quality this car possesses, the level of expertise in the finish work, mechanical soundness and road ready nature this car showcases! Combined with the unique and distinctive sound from the exhaust tip, you will notify all MG enthusiasts you are driving something very special! A rare opportunity for the right sports car collector looking for their next investment vehicle! Act quickly!

Just in from Georgia, And this is what we can see, the products of our tests, and what we were told: very straight body, very good red paint, recently overhauled engine, 50 psi oil pressure when warm (60-65psi cold), no leaks, no odd noises, excellent running, excellent gearbox (perfect synchromesh action, quiet), wiring looks to be in good condition, been fitted with an alternator, new top, very good tonneau and side curtains, mostly new chrome, wire wheels, very clean wood floors and steel chassis. We just did the brakes, all new wheel cylinders front and rear. Brakes work perfectly. Interior was so-so when it arrived and now, all new. Seats, door panels, cowl surround, etc. Looks great. Shocks, springs, steering, exhaust, cooling system all seem to be fine and the car is a delight on the road. No rattles, no odd noises, no bouncing, all in all, a nice MGA.
Just finished Really good body....., no sign of rust, bondo, or anything else. Came in with ancient, faded paint,,,,a bt worn, a few small chips, and now, just finished painting in absolutely gorgeous black. We were told the engine was rebuilt 16k miles ago, zero smoke, 60+ psi oil pressure, exactly 150 psi compression in every cylinder, runs great. Wire wheels, fairly new tan leather interior, good top, side curtains, and tonneau, new chrome, brakes just done, all electrics work, lights, wipers, turn signals, gauge lights, etc, a sweet little collector's car. Add another $2,000 for various options....stereo/CD with USB input, electronic ignition, back up fuel pump, electric cooling fan, luggage rack, better this, different that....BUT WHAT A FANTASTIC STARTING POINT!!!!!!!! And, in the state of the hobby, in 2015, what a rare find to acquire a basically untouched (other than appropriate rebuilding and improvements over the years) example..........LOOK AT HOW STRAIGHT this car is....and remember, black shows every flaw. To use a fun phrase...'laser straight' down the side of the body. A one of a kind 'find.'
Wonderfully restored MGA in a classic color combination of old English white with red leather. This car was built to mimic a factory Deluxe car with upgraded trim and wheels. The Deluxe was a stop gap model to use up the MGA Twin Cam cars after the twin cam motor had problems and sales fell off. The Twin Cam and Deluxe cars had better trim including better leather seats and knock off steel wheels. This car was restored with this look in mind. The paint is beautiful with a deep shine and while not perfect, it is very nice and correct. The chrome is a mixture of new and very nice original/rechromed. Since the car started as a dry rust free and original car, many components were in great shape already and were reused and refurbished/rechromed where appropriate. The interior was completely redone in correct high quality red leather hides. The carpets and panels were replaced with top quality reproductions as well. The top is a high quality Robbins top and is new too. The trunk has been restored and has a nice carpet kit. It runs and drive well after being heavily serviced recently after being stored for a few years. The hydraulics were replaced, carbs rebuilt, and it now runs and drives as it should.
This 1959 MGA was the recipient of a full nut and bolt restoration for the love of this particular model and without any regard for cost. This particular client enjoys finding the project car and then shepherding it through the restoration process. He is well-known in Thunderbird circles for award-winning restorations, but this time he chose an MGA. The result of his ample time and enthusiastic spending is nothing short of breathtaking. This car is as nice underneath as it is on top. Additionally, all mechanicals were restored and are in excellent working order. This is a very nice driving car. We have a large file of receipts on hand that total about $80,00 for the restoration work alone. The rust-free car that was purchased to begin this project, was actually a highly original driver. Included, but not pictured is a speedometer (it was out being rebuilt again at the time of photography), a jack, knock-off hammer, original set of side curtains and a very large file of photos and receipts. For music fans, a vintage looking, but modern radio is hidden under the dash and has its own battery.
MGA 1959, last registered in 1971 in New York and driven until parked. Has a Riley engine which was installed in the 1960's. Have $1,800+ in new restoration parts. Frame is solid, rockers and fender rusted.
