Were seeing a shift in the market, with Tri-Five Chevys cooling off and the bigger, more substantial-looking 58s heating up. This 1958 Chevrolet Impala hardtop is the ideal car for cruising: flashy, well-sorted, and great to look at, but not so over-restored that you need white gloves to open the door. Powered by a smooth 283 with some upgrades and an automatic transmission, youll love the way it drives so much that youll never want to get out. Beautiful Cashmere Blue is a fantastic choice on a 58. Sure, red was popular, but if youre going big, theres no point in trying to be subtle about it and pastels and the 1950s go together perfectly. The one-year-only styling has aged extremely well, and this top-of-the-line Chevy looks more like a Cadillac than an affordable everymans car. From the big grille to the newly introduced quad headlights to the angular roof line, this car gets just about everything right. It was restored more than a few years ago and its been driven, but it presents extremely well with only a few small flaws that are certainly in line with its age. The doors open and close like the proverbial bank vault, shut lines are tight, and the bright white top makes the car look long and sleek (which it is). Most of the chrome and stainless trim is in good shape, although a few pieces are showing their age and could be refinished to take this car up a notch. Nevertheless, youre going to get noticed in this car! The 58 Chevys are special for more than their looks; the interior with its tri-tone upholstery remains one of the most distinctive looks of the late 50s. Youd think that two shades of blue plus white would be overkill, but in this Impala, it works beautifully, with snug-fitting seat covers, dark blue carpets with a factory-style weave, and that big steering wheel with the chrome insert. Sure, its just as flashy as the bodywork, but its a great look that will never go out of style. Aside from a modern AM/FM/cassette head unit and some discreetly placed A/C vents, its completely stock inside and like the exterior, its been nicely maintained since the restoration was finished. The gauges and dash are crisp and clean, and back seat occupants will be delighted to see that neat lift-up center arm rest. The door panels are beautifully designed with anodized panels and red-toned armrests that look like jet exhausts, and the trunk is correctly finished with a rubber mat, full-sized spare tire, and jack assembly. We believe the 283 cubic inch V8 under the hood is the cars original engine, but in 1958, numbers-matching wasnt a thing. Its topped by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, making it a great choice for cruising. Its not totally correct, what with the finned Edelbrock dress-up kit, but its mechanically excellent and bulletproof reliable. Also note the upgraded alternator, power steering, as well as a modern master cylinder on the firewall. It starts easily and pulls the car around with a big dose of low-end torque, and the 3-speed TH350 automatic transmission is a reliable servant. A burbling dual exhaust has just enough attitude to remind everyone that this was a hot car back in the day and the mostly original chassis shows evidence of use but no signs of trouble. Fresh 14-inch BFGoodrich whitewall radials handle great and give the car a proper 50s look. Nicely restored and ready to enjoy, this is a smart buy that should continue to appreciate while you enjoy it. Call today!
No question the 1958 Impala is a landmark automobile, and has rapidly eclipsed its popular Tri-Five siblings in terms of desirability and value. This stunning resto-mod retains everything that was great about the stunning Impala, and adds a few modern conveniences to create what is perhaps the ultimate 50s luxury cruiser. The 58 Impala never looks as good as when its dressed in pastels. With light blue paint and a white roof, it has a pure 50s look that really emphasizes the dramatic one-year-only styling. During the restoration, they took their time so the doors fit extremely well, the gaps are quite good, and all that glittering trim was carefully aligned to give it exactly the look the designers dreamed of in 58. Two-stage urethane creates an high shine that will look this good for years and years, and all the correct Impala logos were faithfully replaced when it was dry. A small fortune was spent on chrome, from the massive bumpers to the delicate fins atop the front fenders to the dual antennas on the rear fenders, all of it is shiny, bright, and in great shape. Very impressive! It has been driven, of course, so perfection isnt the goal, but this is a trophy winner at any local show, especially with the skirts and continental kit out back. Although theres a lot of new stuff under the skin, the interior was restored to factory specifications using blue tri-tone upholstery as original. The beautiful door panels feature blue anodized inserts, and youll note that the big steering wheel was painted to match, complete with white accents like the bodywork. The factory gauges have all been restored, and its possible that the 120 MPH speedometer is no longer just a dream for this car. A/C has been subtly added under the dash, but beyond that its pretty much the way GM built it back in 1958, which was the entire point. The factory AM radio is gone but the AM/FM unit in its place looks pretty authentic, there are correct floor mats for protection, and even the original clock is still in the dash over in front of the passenger. As you can imagine, the back seat is massive and features that trick pop-up armrest, while the equally gigantic trunk is trimmed with a correct mat and includes a CD changer. The top engine in 1958 was a 348 cubic inch V8, instantly recognizable by its W-shaped valve covers. With plenty of dress-up, including a chrome air cleaner and finned aluminum valve covers, it looks as flashy as the rest of the car. Rebuilt 500 miles ago, it was dressed in Chevy Orange paint so theres no question that this is Bowtie muscle. Up top theres an Edelbrock intake manifold and a Holley carburetor, although the original Tri-Power setup is included with the car. The A/C system uses modern components and R134a refrigerant, so its effective and easy to service, and the braking system uses a dual-circuit master cylinder feeding vented front disc brakes for safety. A 3-speed TH350 3-speed automatic transmission spins the original rear end, so its happy around town and on the highway, and the burbling dual exhaust system sounds fantastic blowing through a pair of chrome tips just under the rear bumper. Original wheels and spinner hubcaps give it a retro look and wear fresh wide whitewall radials for better ride and comfort and an authentic look. This is an extremely impressive 58 Impala that captures not only the best of what was possible at the time, but everything that it could be with just a bit of modern technology. Call today!

Those with a limited budget should consider purchasing a project vehicle as an option to entering into classic car ownership.
1958 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe Chevrolet had been in existence 46 years when the legendary Impala was majestically assembled for the first time back in 1957 for the 1958 model year. The Impala, named after the medium-sized African antelopes, was originally introduced as a top-of-the-line Chevy Bel Air, a car that had been in rotation since the 1950 model year. The Bel Air Impala was only built in Sport Coupe or convertible models and was a departure from typical Chevys at that point with its shorter greenhouse, longer rear deck, and lower setting on an X-type frame. The top model added many unique features, including the roof simulator extractor vents, a two-spoke steering wheel, and the iconic three-circle tail lights. Starting at $2,586, consumers had the choice between a 235-cubic-inch Blue Flame I6, 283-cubic-inch Turbo-Fire V8, and a 348-cubic-inch Turbo-Thrust V8. Advertisements said the car, lets you know youre the boss, and for years to come, thats exactly what it did. Looking for both an affordable and desirable 1958 Impala? Search no further. Offered is an Impala with the desired 348 cu in V8 motor equipped with optional 3x2 carbs. The 2-speed automatic transmission is also an option on this model. The Impala has 4-wheel drum brakes, 14-inch tires and wheels, independent front suspension with coil springs at the rear. Front seating is bench with a matching red cloth and vinyl covering. The factory AM radio is present. The Impala runs and stops great. There is a small amount of surface rust on the bottom of the drivers door that can easily be repaired. A rare opportunity to own one of Chevrolets iconic styles at a reasonable price.

Chevys 1958 Impala was a landmark automobile, and the one-year-only design seems to have finally found its place among the most sought-after cars of the 1950s. This one isnt strictly stock, but it has the right look, and with a smooth-running 350, a great color combination, and a few subtle custom touches, it manages to stand out without erasing everything that was great about the original look. The long, low shape of the 58 Impala is easy to recognize, and this one still wears its Bowtie look with pride. But on closer inspection, youll find a car that has been tastefully upgraded in the early 60s style, giving it a look thats just a little bit different. Of course, the handsome chocolate brown paint helps and its quite nicely done, so you will be eager to get it out to shows. The bodywork underneath is equally nice, and like all dark colors, this really is the most important part of the job, so they seem to have really spent the extra time to get it right. Gaps are very good and aside from a few polishing marks, it looks very, very fresh. None of the original stainless trim was removed, so it has that big, flashy chrome 50s look, although the front grille has been replaced with a smooth tubular setup that gives the big Imp an entirely different look. It also carries a set of teardrop spots and clear headlight lenses, which are subtle details that make a big impact. Working in conjunction with the brown paint, the two-tone tan and cream leather interior has a correct look thats just a little different, much like the exterior. The pleated inserts are comfortable and the sophisticated look works especially well with all the bright trim work inside the car. The original steering wheel has a matching tan leather wrap, but the wheel itself is unmodified and it frames the original dashboard, complete with the wide speedometer and dual temperature and fuel gauges. An under-dash A/C system is a welcome addition, as is the AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit, and theres a slick B&M shifter on the transmission tunnel for managing the upgraded TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. Full-sized comfort really means something in the spacious back seat, which is set up like a pair of buckets, and the giant trunk is well-upholstered with brown carpets that give it a finished look. The top engine in 1958 was a 348, but this one goes two cubes better by being a 350 cubic inch V8. Beautifully detailed, it really sparkles in the big Imps engine bay. Edelbrock supplied the intake manifold, carburetor, and air cleaner, and with Chevy Orange paint on the block, theres no mistaking this for anything else. A big aluminum radiator up front keeps everything nice and cool, even on the hottest days, and all the accessories are new, including the alternator and A/C compressor, which uses R134a refrigerant. The transmission is the aforementioned TH350 3-speed unit, which is a nice improvement over the original PowerGlide 2-speed, and it feeds what appears to be the original rear end. A newer exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers sounds 50s perfect and the stance is exactly right. 205/70/14 whitewall radials on steel wheels with hubcaps are surprisingly low-key on such a flashy car, and the look totally works. Theres a great deal of time and money invested in this handsome Impala, and it offers all the upgrades that youd want in a car built to cruise. Call today!
With just 6,000 miles logged since its restoration, this 1958 Chevrolet Impala captures a significant moment in Chevys design history - it displays the styling cues that made the Chevy sedans of the mid-50s such pacesetters and yet also represents a move toward the future with its lower profile and elongated stance. As if its appearance wasnt a strong enough draw on its own, this classic still wears its original color and features its original powerplant under the hood. The exterior tells you right away that this car is something special. Its Snowcrest white shade is its original color and its been skillfully refreshed to show-quality form, sitting under a strong clearcoat providing a great shine. While the front bumper is a little more refined than those you would find in its predecessors, this 58 still sports an impressive collection of chrome and all of it is in very clean condition - from the revamped front grille that positions a pair of dual running lights directly under the dual headlights, to the lengthy stretches of trim on the sides that merge with additional trim extending back to the taillights. This well-restored car shows a lot of attention to detail - both the headlights and taillights sport fresh looking lenses, youll find clear glass surrounded by new looking rubber seals on all four sides of the cabin, and the body lines from front to back are impressively tight and even. The doors open and close very smoothly and every manual window rolls up and down without issue. Theres no let up to the awesomeness inside the doors, as this Impala happens to possess a world class interior. Its got a museum quality look to it while combining custom aesthetics and a precise, factory-looking installation. The bench seating in both front and back has been re-covered in red vinyl with contrasting striped cloth inserts that look outstanding over the fresh red carpeting below. Beyond the eye-catching, impressively detailed two-tone steering wheel, the dash area retains its factory look while featuring a level of functionality and cleanliness you dont often see in even the most precisely restored classics. Every gauge in the cluster is perfectly readable and functional, every control knob and switch sports a new look and sits securely in place - only the passenger side clock and the AM radio at the center of the dash will require attention to get them back up and running. The trunk area in back is generously proportioned and meticulously restored - even the full-size spare sitting in its upright position looks new. Things look very factory-correct and tidy under the hood. The 348 cubic inch V8 inside the compartment is the very same one this 58 left the plant with and its painted red block contrasts perfectly with its black surroundings. It features one of Chevys more notable engineering advances - its tri-power carburetor configuration. Its no mere novelty - the three 2-barrel carbs working in tandem to efficiently feed the engine produced an impressive 280 horsepower and represented a top tier mechanical option when this Impala was new. Newly rebuilt, the powerplant is in very good form, firing up promptly and running smoothly as it combines with the same 3-speed manual transmission it began life with. The undercarriage is unusually clean for any classic, let alone one that made its debut 60 years ago. Fresh bushings installed on the control arms and tie rod ends help produce a quiet ride and secure power steering as this super-sharp Chevy rules the road on its stock Chevy wheels that feature very sharp bowtie-branded hubcaps and are wrapped with white wall tires for an authentic vintage look. With its impressive condition combining with an unusually high level of originality, this 1958 Chevrolet Impala has few peers - on the road or anywhere else. Call today!
1958 Chevrolet Impala. Well I could go into a long drawn out description of how wicked the 58 Impala was when it first came out but if your heavy into shopping for one of these then you already know everything I could tell you already. What you don't know at this point is that I own one of the very best examples of this car ever produced !! Please watch my you tube video on this car. I explain quite a bit about the car in my video being that its almost 15 minutes long. I purchased this car from the state of Colorado about a year ago while out in that area buying a 97 Riviera. It was in the rear part of a warehouse sitting there on 4 flats with the original tires from 1958 stacked next to it and a bunch of old NOS parts in a box in the trunk. It had a layer of dirt on it with the original plastic still on the seats and I fell deeply in love, especially when I opened the hood and saw that it had the 348 cubic inch V-8 under there !!!! Didn't take me long to realize without even talking with anyone that I was looking at an all original unmolested 58 Impala coupe in my favorite color !!!! Took a few months and I did a partial trade of a 2002 Thunderbird towards its purchase. As you can see in one of my photos it still has the original inspection sticker in the window from 1977, the last time it was actively doing road duty. Cleaned up, paint buffed out, new non ethanol gas, complete tune up and about 300 miles under my belt have made me absolutely convinced I have one of the very best 58 Impala coupes out there. It drives like an absolute dream with no odd noises or anything. 40,900 original miles on the car from 1958 till 1977 when it was stored away until I got it. I removed the second set of bias tires that were installed in 1966 and put on a brand new set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. Hard to believe but the original tires that came on the car, the ones I just talked about from 1966 were holding air just fine and going down the road. They will of course come with the car along with the original hubcaps and all the other NOS parts that came with it. I cannot imagine someone not being pleased with this car. Not only is it rare and a work of art, but its a real pleasure to drive and just enjoy the feel of the perfect cockpit and everything that goes along with driving down the road in a car of this caliber and prestige. I will consider all interesting trades. I live in Clinton NY 13323. I welcome and encourage all visits to come and look, drive the car. It is clean and ready to go. I've owned and sold about 572 cars as a classic car dealer in the last 20 years. As I said in my video. This car I can certainly rank as one of the top 5 best cars I've ever put up for sale. I certainly hope it goes to a loving home. Please call me at 315-853-1967 and leave a message if I do not answer. I will not return text messages. Thank you.
