This is the cool classic hardtop with some desirable performance secrets. And as you dig into all the details on this restored 1957 Ford Fairlane 500, youll also discover all the best upgrades, including cold A/C. This car is quite striking from the first impression, and its no accident. This coupe has been under the same familys care since the 60s. It was restored in 2010, and has gone less than 2,900 miles since then. So it retains the crispness that came from carefully restoring a heirloom. But while that tells you about the quality, whats going to really seal the deal for you is the way this one is presented today. This was restored with an eye for a very cool performance story. It was painted in Highland Green and Wimbledon White. These are the kind of colors made famous by the Bullitt Mustang GT and the Shelby Mustang GT350s. Those wide exhaust tips and Shelby GT-H alloys complete this performance look. Even if you werent impressed with the subtle aggression, the workmanship of this coupe certainly will. The front end has a mirror-like chrome bumper thats complemented by the custom grille and upgraded HID headlights. The rear has even more great chrome, and 57 was the debut of true tailfins. Along the side, the stainless trim creates a separation line for the white and green. This full-length silver and gold streak needs truly straight sheetmetal for it to make this kind of stellar impression over the whole body. So this is a classy classic with a performance story to tell. Inside, the color theme continues as green and white are expertly interwoven with a tasteful gold streak for accenting. While this is part of a custom creation, its also quite mindful about keeping the vintage appearance just look at the detailed presentation of places like the tweed seats, correct trunk, and the classic steering wheel. So youll love rolling down all the windows to show off the interior of this hardtop coupe. As Fords full-sized offering, theres plenty of room to take family and friends along for the ride. And there are even nice upgrades like modern stereo/iPod inputs and cold-blowing air conditioning. But as you slip behind the wheel, youll also notice the upgraded Dolphin gauge package. It tells you theres something special under the hood even before you twist the key and hear it roar. Youll love tilting the hood forward and showing off this tidy and bright engine bay. This is a D-code coupe, which means it came with the optional Thunderbird Special 312 cubic-inch V8. Not only does it still have that displacement today, but this was one was built by the specialists at Godwin Singer Machine Shop. That means it has all the right performance components, including a desirable ECZ-B intake, Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, custom grind Mummert Y-270-S performance camshaft, and Reds headers that add power while also contributing to the sweet-sounding glasspack dual exhaust. This Fairlane rides nicely, like a good full-size Ford should, and you even have the Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission to keep cruising easy. But with all this added V8 power, youll appreciate upgrades like the four-wheel disc brakes and the modern grip of Pirelli P-Zero Nero tires. The sale comes complete with paperwork like title documentation, restoration photos, maintenance records, and build receipts. Its the cool and unique classic with a story to tell. So if you like standing out in all the best ways, dont miss this coupe.Call now!

This 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner is a fantastically coordinated total package inside and out that keeps all the right vintage pieces. And thats exactly what you want when shopping for a cool cruising V8 droptop classic. The appeal of this convertible is as clear as black and white literally. While this was born a desirable black car, it was changed to a two tone later in life. That means the style appeal of a tuxedo and an extra dose of sunshine-friendly gloss. Plus, like the best formalwear, this Sunliner has all the best accessories. The correct hood ornament, extra-wide grille, and wraparound chrome bumpers are like the cufflinks and Rolex watch with this tuxedo. And we especially love how the sweeping side trim with gold insert gives a decisive dividing line between the two colors. Even the wheels look great as the whitewalls, black steelies, and chrome & white covers contribute to this fully coordinated package. The black convertible top has the crisp look of a recent investment, so it looks great when in place. But with the flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal even more of the two-tone youll love. While the interior was born with a black and white presentation, you do see some more recent investments in places like the seats. Just like the exterior, the two colors are expertly blended, and supplemented by plenty of bright trim. And because all the best components have the look of originality, youre going to love showing this off to other enthusiasts. But more than just a car to look at, this is meant to share the open road with family and friends, too. Thats the appeal of owning a premium full-size droptop classic. Tilt the hood forward to show off the correct-style D-code 312 cubic-inch V8. It was known as the Thunderbird Special in 57, and so those valve covers have been earned. It looks correct and distinct with the bold red block, large air topper, and even the washer bag. This one fires up readily, like a well-maintained classic should. And the Holley four-barrel carburetor gives the V8 proper power as well as help give the dual exhaust a nice tone. Plus, the two-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and modern tires all come together for a great classic cruising package. This is a nicely cared for classic, and there are even fender skirts and a car cover that come with the sale. This Ford looks like formalwear, and so you need to take it for a night on the town. Now for sale at Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is the beautiful 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible. This classic beauty was restored by Jerry Miller of Jerry s Classic Cars back in 2014 and remains in great shape. The 57 Ford models featured a clean single headlight front end and had some sleek tailfins that were key distinguishing factors from other cars. The beauty is powered by the original 292 CID V8 with only a little over 140 miles on it since the rebuild. The car went through an exhausting restoration with photos to show it was thoroughly gone through. With over $72,000 in receipts the amount of replacement parts, re-chroming, and rebuilding of components is endless. Some of the items just to name a few include: New heater core, exhaust system, new carpet, rebuilt wiper motor, new fuel tank, new radiator and rebuilt rear end. This a clean car and worth seeing in person. With nearly all the internals either replace or rebuilt, this classic piece of history runs like a top knotch machine. The car is painted a soft Willow green throughout the exterior and accented on the inside. With a clean set of wire wheels and white wall tires, this car pops at any car show you decide to take it too. All the chrome trimming, and bumpers are in great shape as they were re-chromed during the restoration as well. The convertible top is automatic and moves up and down with ease, so you can enjoy those weekend cruises with some fresh air a bit more. The Interior is done in a dark green vinyl with a lighter green to match the exterior. The seats are all in great condition with no major rips or tears. The car also features a dark green boot to give the car a cleaner appearance when you have the top down. Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to offer this stunning 1957 Ford Fairlane for sale in our Indianapolis showroom. Power is by a 312 cubic inch V8 driving through an automatic transmission. With a new interior less than 500 miles ago to complement the dazzling candy red over silver/white pearl paint, this car just pops. Purchased by the current owner from a gentleman in Utah 6 years ago, this car has no rust at all. No bodywork was done before the paint, and the long, low lines of the car look exceptionally smooth, set off perfectly by the 17 inch Vision Legend Series 5 spoke chrome wheels. And speaking of chrome, it is in exceptional condition. The 1957 models were unmistakable with their long flanks and tailfins, and the new frame used for the 1957 Fords moved to perimeter rails out, so that they would fully envelope the passengers. The result was a low, wide stance that made this model very successful, overtaking arch rival Chevrolet for the first time since 1935 as the best selling car in America. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable Hardtop Convertible for purchase. One of the coolest classics ever made looks like a classic mid 50s poodle skirt cruiser, but its more than that. This is the first mass produced retractable hardtop convertible ever made. It takes the top, folds just a part of the front of the roof, and retracts the piece under the lid of the trunk. It uses three roof drive motors driving four lift jacks, four door-lock motors, ten solenoids, four locking mechanisms, and 610ft of wiring. While having the top down renders the trunk almost completely useless, the top mechanics are actually surprisingly reliable considering how much is at work. This is one of those great classics that truly stand out from the rest. The 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable offered here is a two owner car and has been in the hands of the 2nd owner for the last 45 plus years. The car remains highly original with some selective cosmetic attention over time including a repaint, carpet, dash pad and seat upholstery, none of these being recent. The car remains in its original color combination of Colonial White over two tone blue interior and shows very well. Areas of the car that remain original are the steel dash fascia, steering wheel, radio, knobs, the original perforated headliner, door panels, interior trim panels, exterior trim, original stickers inside of glove box door, and the majority of its working components. The frame underside appears to be untouched, dry and in great original condition.Mechanically, this car is a great runner and a proven driver. It is powered by its 292 V8 engine, automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. The retractable hard top under our tests works flawlessly in both directions. The Ford Fairlane garners much attention and is well respected around the world. The retractable hard top is still considered and engineering feat of greatness especially considering the times. These cars will always remain popular and collectible.
1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible The Ford Fairlane was produced between 1955 and 1970. The automobile was named after Henry Fords 56 room, 31,000 square foot Fair Lane estate in Dearborn, Michigan, a Detroit suburb. Offered for sale is the #1 selling automobile line of 1957, the Ford Fairlane 500. Presented in 10 different configuring chassis, this Fairlane offered represents the convertible version of the model lineup. Powered by the 312 cu in Thunderbird V8, this Fairlane produces 245 hp through a manual 3-speed transmission. All four brakes are drum and brakes and steering are manual. The Ford shows very nicely in the color combination of red and off white with gold trim exterior as well as two tone red and white vinyl interior. The convertible top and boot are solid white. This 500 convertible runs and drives excellent with no known or present mechanical or cosmetic issues. The chrome and bright work is excellent as is the interior condition and top. This car would be considered a very nice driver quality having been restored some years ago. A rare opportunity to own a visually stunning 57 Ford convertible.
1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible Maybe its the angled grille update or the sense of motion inherent in its swept styling, but theres just something about the 1957 Ford Fairlane that demands attention. Arguably the most underrated of Detroits 50s super stars, the Fairlane sold well in its day and continues to be a staple of the collector car market. The beneficiary of a recent rotisserie restoration, this top option Fairlane 500 is just waiting for a sunny day and manicured show field. So, if youre the kind of enthusiast who likes to envision having their name engraved on trophies, take a minute to get to know this killer Ford convertible! A complete restoration with a color change from original is to die for. This boulevard cruiser will attract a lot of attention, and that is just when it is parked. The phrase they dont make them like they used to applies x10 here, as this car just drips with 1950s styling, and color. Exterior Fronting the mile-long hood bathed in a blue that is somewhere between a Baby Blue and Capri Blue, this stunner sports the original grille, newly chromed bumper, and body color matching cowled single headlamps. Making our way back along the stainless and cream colored Fairlane Strip we see straight panels with slight alignment issues, but very smooth paint, and gleaming brite work. This makes its way back to the pre-jet age version of the turbine circular tail lamp with just the hint of an angled fin atop them. The mile-long trunk deck lid framed by the tail lamps, drops into a massive beautifully re-chromed bumper with dual exhaust tips peeking out from below. A pristine white convertible moves up and down mechanically with ease, and a body matching boot cover is noted to cover top when it is in the down position. Interior Carrying through with the color combo motif of the exterior, we see a blue tufted with white bolsters and blue piping 50/50 bench seats upfront, and a long bench in the rear. The front seats are framed by metal rail covers and have a power option installed. Plush dark blue carpet covers all the floor, and it looks up to a blue metal dash, with all perfectly aligned gauges and knobs in white and aluminum. A cluster of 3 aftermarket gauges hangs below the dash, and an original but perfectly restored steering wheel and column front this menagerie. Drivetrain A pull on the front hinged hood reveals a nicely restored engine bay with a blinged-out Thunderbird Special V8 weighing in at 312ci bored out, and a 40-degree small cam inserted. A 4 speed transmission has been inserted and a new clutch T/O pressure bearing. Undercarriage A solid frame all draped in beautiful black shows some repaired areas, but these maintain structural integrity, and compromise nothing underneath. A new front suspension lowered 2 has been installed along with power front disc brakes. All new rubber seals, and a sparkling new exhaust is noted. This wonderful restoration of a massive example of Detroit iron will certainly be able to add a little spice to your weekend routine and take Sunday drives to a whole new level. And its a convertible!
