For sale in our Dallas-Ft. Worth Showroom is a beautiful 1956 Ford Fairlane 4-door sedan. In 1955 the Ford Fairlane replaced the Crestline as Ford s premier full-sized automobile. Six different body styles were offered with this new model including the Crown Victoria Skyliner with a tinted transparent plastic roof, the standard Crown Victoria coupe with lots of stainless steel trim, a convertible Sunliner, the Victoria hardtop coupe, and traditional sedans. All the Fairlanes featured the trademark stainless steel Fairlane stripe on the side. Few changes were made for 1956, 1956 ushered in the four door Victoria hardtop, and although this isn t the hardtop, this one of the nicest four doors you will probably ever see. The lacquer paint still smells fresh inside and out on this beautiful restoration. You will most certainly get the looks at car shows when you show up in this 1956 Ford Fairlane 4 door. For sale at the Atlanta showroom is a clean 1956 Ford Fairlane with Customline trim purchased from the original owner in the early 1980 s. The beginning of this line began in 1952, when the Ford Motor Company did a restructuring of their all new vehicle line that began in 1949. The Customline was the mid-level car, the peddles have now become suspended from below the dash. A voltmeter, gas gauge, temp gauge, and oil pressure were standard. The clock and radio were positioned in the center of the dash, and the grille now sported a single center Bullet flanked by vertical black stripes. The radio preset buttons were even preset to local stations by your local ford dealer as a special yet unusual service. This vehicle is equipped with the Ford 272 CID V-8 engine, automatic transmission, and power steering. It has been kept in the same family ever since, and comes with the original Bill of Sale, Owners Manual, along with it s first Title and Registration. She appears to have been pampered her whole life, as the new owner decided to have her taken down to bare metal and repainted in the Blue paint she was born with. This beauty is a numbers matching 76,612-mile car, per owner s statement, as well as an all original vinyl and cloth interior, seatbelts, white walls, and an added AM/FM Cassette. This type of original car is one that can give many more years of good use, as well as new memories for you to share. For sale is my 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner Convertible project- just in time for Spring (hopefully). The floor and body have been professional restored and are now rust-free and straight after many hours of metalwork and restoration. I was preparing the car to paint, but a home project has taken the priority and have decided to sell this car with great potential to someone who can make this car what they want it to be- whether a factory original or a hot rod. The floor was replaced with a rust-free floor from an Arizona Fairlane donor, frame was removed and repaired as needed, painted and installed with the correct body bushings, the rockers have been replaced, lower sections of front fenders and rear quarter replaced with new metal. Hood and trunk are also in good shape. After all the metalwork was completed, the body was primered and block sanded. The body was protected with epoxy primer and the side trim was installed to test the fitment. The door latches and strikers were installed as well, so the doors close and latch as they should. The video below is a walk-around with engine start:https://youtu.be/RdbaGfYlq_cTrunk and under-body:https://youtu.be/jhdi-hDaVBIThe original 1956 292 y-block V8 was replaced with a mildly built 57 312 y-block, although I still have the original engine for sale separately which ran when it was removed a year ago. Below is a short video of the current engine running:https://youtu.be/-b7kq0ymclcBefore the painting process begins, I would suggest going through the brakes and suspension. As it sits, all the body panels line up as they should and the car's structure is solid. The car is in a perfect position to choose whether you want original style brakes and suspension or updated with modern braking or suspension systems.Included with the car is new glass still in the crate, which includes all side glass and the windshield. I also have set of front and rear bumpers along with the front turn signal housings which are in good shape to be re-chromed. The convertible top canvas is long gone, but all the bows appear to work fine as it can be moved manually up and down right now- it will need new hydraulics and pump to make the convertible top function again. The header bow is rusted out (as they all are), but I purchased a perfect original one, which is shown in one of the pictures. I also have a set of rust-free rear interior panels I purchased more recently (after I shot those videos) that only need upholstery to complete. I have most of the interior parts, but will need upholstery, but the hard task has been completed on this car. The car needs all soft upholstery including seat covers, foam, door and side panels, and carpet. You need to just pick the color(s) and direction you want the project to take. This could be restored as a factory original or become a great base for a hot rod. I have included pictures of the car assembled, but also some pictures of the restoration process along with some of the parts included but not installed on the car yet. Fully restored, 1955/1956 Ford Sunliner often sell well above $50k, so there is room to restore this one well below that number. If you have any questions, please call or text me.
What a sweetheart! I bought this car because I heard it run. I was in Florida at a show and walked behind it.....the motor was purring perfectly. It caught my attention, so I looked further and was very pleased with what I saw. Doors click shut, original radio works, door locks work. Turns out it has 66,201 actual miles and I believe it. So it arrived today on the transport, a 25 degree day. Guess what? Hit the key, it started up and purred- even cold! It has the optional Thunderbird special 272 V8 with 4 barrel and dual exhaust which exits through the back bumper. Under the hood its completely stock and cleaned up very nicely. First year Ford used 12 volt system. The body is so impressive. The body panels fit so nice. The doors are perfectly square and flush. High quality paint finish, even being white it has a mirror reflection. Excellent chrome and trim. Chrome front and back is new including bumpers, emblems, tail lights, hood ornament and grill. New handles. Stainless trim is a 9. The jambs are spotless, weatherstripping is soft. Has optional fender skirts with the stone guards. Wide whitewalls on painted rims with full hubcaps. Inside the trunk you lift the mat and it looks like the car was just just produced yesterday and its original! It does have a new mat, whitewall spare, painted run and original jack. Interior is very well cared for. Door panels look new, upholstery is excellent, headliner is original. Interior metal has glossy finish. Underneath the car is rock solid. It drives tight and smooth. New brakes and gas tank. Desirable auto trans and power steering. If you have owned old cars, you will appreciate this one. It will bring happiness to its new owner! 1956 Ford Fairlane The Ford Fairlane is an automobile model that was sold between 1955 and 1970 by Ford in North America. The name is derived from Henry Fords estate, Fair Lane, near Dearborn, Michigan. Over time, the name referred to a number of different cars in different classes; the Fairlane was initially a full-sized car but became a mid-sized car from the 1962 model year on. Any time we get stunning 50s era Detroit metal into our Classic Auto Mall showroom, it tends to attract a lot of attention and usually doesnt stick around very long. This 1956 Ford Fairlane is a 1st Place winner in every show its been entered in and has been painstakingly restored to an over the top version of the Ford line status. Its the perfect car for anyone who wants a fully working version with some conveniences from higher end cars added. Also, you will be getting an exceptionally well-done restoration for half the price you would put into it from the starting gate. Exterior A major restoration starting with the body panels to remove any rust and dings and dents was performed. It was then sprayed with Teal and White combo, which uses the polished stainless trim to denote the fields of color perfectly. Bumpers and badging are correct and looking in very nice condition. Subtle tail fins bring up the rear, and rear brake lighting links strikingly similar to the same year T bird, but it works! Cadillac hubcaps surrounded by new tires which harken back to the mid 50s are seen all around. Interior Again, a complete redux using the same white bolster over teal inserts but wrapping 1987 Lincoln split bench power seats. The original bench graces the back seat but redone to match. Seat belts and shoulder harnesses are added but color matched. An aftermarket air conditioner graces the underside of the beautifully restored teal and chrome dash. Rewired power windows, a tilt steering wheel and power steering have been installed. Thick pile teal carpeting floods the floor, and above a new white headliner with two tone sun visors below. Drivetrain The reworked 292ci engine is coupled with a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Seen on top is a 500 CFM carburetor, and an automatic choke. Undercarriage Clean and mean with virtually no rust seen sums it up. A few items the consigner noted as new seen from below are a new rear main seal, clutch, throwout bearing, gas tank, front end ball joints, front disc brakes, and drum rears, and a completely rebuilt power steering assembly. A really nicely done restoration, with some extras for more creature comfort, you can drive down the road, and it looks like 1956 all over again, but a test of the inside brings you back to the future! Also thrown in are 2 matching fabric bucket seats, a Ford wiring harness, and a set of restored fender skirts with all the fixings to mount them securely in to the car.

You sure dont come across classics with a backstory like this 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria very often. After having been securely stashed away for a full 40 years, it then received a careful restoration both inside and out, so this sharp looking cruiser occupies a very rare space, as its now looking its best after having logged only a little over 49,000 miles in its 60-plus years of life. There are just so many inspired styling cues that set this classic Ford apart from its more commonly seen counterparts. Up front, its deep-set headlights loom over an elaborate front grille and extra beefy bumper and are surrounded by sharply defined enclosures with a strong forward incline. Just above them, chrome trim adorns the tops of the fenders before descending to the midpoint of the doors and across the quarter panels. All of the chrome and brightwork are very fresh and sit against a backdrop of Colonial White - this Fords original color - thats in great shape, with a strong shine and smooth texture. Fairlanes of this era featured sharply curved, panoramic front windshields and long spacious cabins that really emphasize the surrounding glass, all of which is unblemished and crystal clear. The sturdy frame on this classic has served it well - after all this time, there are no signs of sagging and the body panels appear to be in very precise alignment. The trunk seems nearly big enough to fit a small car inside and with its deck lid raised, you can see that its also in very solid shape. The blue and white interior has been thoroughly refurbished to factory specs and really looks great. The bench seating in both front and back features nicely fitted covers that mix vinyl and cloth to great effect as the front and rear seats loom over a fresh expanse of deep blue carpeting. Theres no doubt that a sheltered existence went a long way toward preserving this Fairlanes great looks, but its still pretty impressive to witness what that shelter, combined with some skilled craftsmanship where needed, has yielded - the door panels fit as snugly to their steel frames as they did when new, the white headliner running over the top shows not so much as a wrinkle and the dash area is in great condition, with no cracks in sight and the assortment of original factory gauges in the instrument cluster still clear and readable. Just above, a pair of matching two-tone sun visors has been added - a great finishing detail. Underneath the hood youll find a very nicely detailed engine compartment, at the center of which sits what is believed to be the original 292 cubic inch Thunderbird V8, decked out with a spotless silver air cleaner and a pair of black valve covers that contrast nicely with its orange block. The engine is in great shape, starting right up and running very smoothly as it teams with the also believed original Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. A Pertronix ignition has been added to maximize available spark and a new radiator sits up front to up this Fords dependability in real world use. The drum brakes at all four corners, along with the master cylinder, were also recently replaced for dependable stopping ability while power steering makes this classic easy to navigate on its set of stock 15 wheels outfitted with new Goodyear bias ply white walls for just the right vintage appearance. Its not often that you encounter a classic of this era that greets the present looking and running at the top of its game, so this 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria represents a truly unusual opportunity. Blending the best of the classic style and a custom presentation, this 1956 Ford Fairlane is a true standout. And as you dig deeper to discover impressive details from the original invoice to new A/C components youll a see a classic with everything you want. This Ford has been given a terrific restoration for those who like to hunt for the details. For example, the paint was re-finished close to a shade of the 1956-correct color combo of Goldenglow Yellow and Colonial White. It makes for a great period-correct feeling with some added distinction. You see that all over this example with cool additions like the shining grille expertly integrated from a Plymouth front end, chrome wheels with wide whitewalls, and blue-dot taillights. And have you noticed how nearly all the trim has been shaven (even the door handles) for an added dose of slickness? But one piece of trim that will always remain is the dipping line that runs from the headlight to the tail. It provides a great dividing line for the two-tone, and its a true hallmark of these Fords. The interior continues the classic feeling with cool upgrades. For example, the yellow and white two-tone theme is also found inside for a great custom look. But now the white seats have been refinished to have a tuck and roll inserts exactly what you want on a 50s classic! Not only do these seats feel fresh, but also so do the door panels, carpeting, and headliner. This is a great place to spend some time, especially with some key upgrades. So while the original AM radio is still on display, the real tunes come from a more modern AM/FM unit hidden in the glovebox. They have even installed the full provisions for air conditioning. Youll slip behind the classic Ford steering wheel, and this gives you a great view of the classic gauge package as well as the large Moon tach added to the column. The 292 cubic-inch Ford Y-block V8 motor was an optional powerplant borrowed from the Thunderbird. Its nice to see this displacement still in this M-code car, and it even has extra power thanks to an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. You can tell they made a nice investment in keeping this looking correct with the glossy black engine bay, bold red block, and correct Thunderbird Special valve covers. Out on the road, the optional Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission keeps everything running smooth as you enjoy the throaty sounds of the glasspack-style dual exhaust. Its these kinds of touches that keep the Fairlane one of the coolest ways aimlessly wander the boulevard on a Saturday night. This one comes with its original bill of sale out of California, which is another really cool touch to a cruiser that looks like its a true 50s-style California custom. So if you miss out on something this unique, you may never find it again. Call today!!!
