Tri-Five fans, dont despair, there are still some very nice, drivable Chevys out there looking for new homes. Case in point? This gorgeous 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door sedan, with an awesome two-tone paint job, a big block V8 under the hood, and a stunning interior that has all the modern conveniences. This one definitely wont last long. A lot of hobbyists think the 1955 Chevys are the best of the bunch, with the purest, least finicky design, and its pretty hard to dispute that claim looking at this 210. The paint job is not quite authentic but using modern paints to give it a brilliant shine and depth, it really works. The soft champagne metallic over cobalt blue combination is simply perfect for getting attention with this slick cruiser, and we have to admit that it looks very sophisticated. The finish was color sanded and buffed to an incredible shine that really shows well in the sun, and the two-tone look definitely works on the simple 210 body style, accentuating the cars very best features. It shows a few signs of age and use, but nothing significant and nothing distracts from the high-quality look. All the original trim was removed, polished, and reinstalled once the paint was dry, and preserves the timeless look of this 55. The bumpers have been rechromed, the grille is in very good condition, and the familiar Soft-Ray glass adds to the hot rod look without distracting you from the vintage vibe. The stunning tan bucket seat interior very nicely done and offers comfort and all the modern conveniences. Tan vinyl with dark blue piping covers both the front and back seats, and the door panels use the same stuff in a custom pattern that definitely shows an artists touch. They retained the original dash, but added digital instruments behind a smoked panel, although the gauges do need some sorting. Theres also a tilt steering column, a billet steering wheel, and a B&M shifter on the floor just ahead of the custom console. Theres a neatly installed AM/FM/cassette stereo in the center of the dash and it uses original-looking knobs to help camouflage the upgrade. An A/C system has been installed with vents under the dash (needs to be serviced), and the trunk has been finished to match. The engine is a thundering 454 cubic inch V8 with a few aftermarket speed parts and enough flash to make it worth opening the hood at the local cruise night. Its a tight fit in there, but it works rather well in the lightweight Bel Air. Its fed by an Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor, and an MSD ignition system lights it up. Chrome valve covers match the tall air cleaner and accessories, and with a giant aluminum radiator up front it never gets fussy. Block-hugging headers dump into a custom dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and chrome pipes right under the one-piece California bumper. A TH350 3-speed automatic is the right transmission for a car like this and it drives a GM 10-bolt rear end. Power 4-wheel disc brakes with Wilwood calipers improve safety and it rolls on a set of chrome Ridler wheels wearing staggered 225/45/17 front and 245/45/18 rear Toyo radials. To duplicate this car, youd be well past the asking price before you were done with the paint and chrome, never mind the engine and interior. Theres no denying the appeal of the 55 shape and when theyre priced like this one, they make for a very appealing package. Call us today before this Bel Air slips away.... Read more

This car has best of both worlds. Its a nicely restored Bel Air with the looks, room and features that made this car popular when it was introduced, combined with discreet, current gen, suspension and drivetrain updates to make it a better riding, better handling and reliable modern car. Come on down and take it for a ride and see for yourself. Looking more like a dignified member of your community than a flashy local celebrity, this car is presented in Gray and Silver that was professionally applied and looks fantastic. Its like its wearing a tailored suit for Sunday morning church or a fund-raising dinner as opposed to a flashy Mardi Gras party. The colors nicely compliment all the chrome that is one of the appeals of a Bel Air, and all that chrome is shiny and new and looks amazing. The rocket on the hood leads the way with a red, white and blue Chevy badge just below it. An eggcrate grill is surrounded by chrome and underlined with that bold, beautiful bumper. Chrome highlights run from the front fender to the door, and then creatively divide the two-tone paint on the rear fender. The stainless around the windows is polished up and shines as brightly as the chrome, and the back bumper has a couple chrome exhaust tips peeking out from underneath. Open the door and you will find more of the understated elegance of this restoration. A two-tone Gray cloth interior echoes the look of the paint on the car. The cloth is super comfortable and just begs you to get in and settle in for a ride. Power windows are one of the nice modern updates and all the switches are at the drivers fingertips. The steering wheel with the full circular chrome horn ring has that wonderful 1950s look and feel to it. The gauges in the dash received a really nice update and redesign that keeps the original feel of the car but does it with modern design and functionality. The engine gauges are arrayed across the top with the speedo in the center and gear indicators for the automatic transmission are just below that. Off to the right are the ventilation controls that include those for the Vintage Air system to keep you cool. An AM/FM/Cassette player is there for your listening pleasure and a fresh headliner and carpeting ties it all together nicely. Pop the hood on this car and you will find a modern 350 cubic inch V8 that is as nicely dressed out as the rest of the car. A polished-up air topper sits on top of an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold. Chrome valve covers, master cylinder and brake booster add to the flashy look. Billet pulley mounts for the alternator and A/C compressor are polished up nicely too and there is an aluminum radiator to keep things running cool. Shorty headers twist and wind their way to a dual exhaust system and give the car a nice sound. What you dont see easily is the nice suspension upgrades. Up front, tubular control arms have coil over springs with adjustable ride height capability. Power rack and pinion steering adds to the precise feel of the handling and power front disc brakes assure good stopping ability. At the rear, trailing arms with the same type of adjustable coil over shock springs provide the same advantages of good handling and ride. Come on down and check this car out. It is a sweet combination of classic good looks and modern updates that may make you want to drive it home.... Read more

There is something special about a car that has been restored from the frame up in all its stock, original glory. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was so outstanding on this car that it won an award from the Antique Automobile Club of America, which is dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of automotive history. Now its up to you to make sure the enjoyment part of their mission is realized. Come on down and check out this sweet ride! Presented in Gypsy Red, this car looks fantastic! You can rest assured that there was plenty of time spent preparing the body panels so that they were spotlessly smooth and lined up perfectly before a drop of that gorgeous paint was applied. The 55 Bel Air has crisp, clean lines that look good all by themselves, and when you add chrome spears on both the front and rear, and dress out the rocker panels with chrome, you can see why they have become one of the most sought-after classics ever made. The front of the car leads with lots of chrome too. A bold hood ornament is perched over an egg-crate grill with a substantial double bar bumper sporting its National First Prize badge underlining it all. The icing on this cake is the convertible roof. It looks good when it is up, but when it is down, the look will take your breath away and cause people to strain their necks checking you out as you drive by. Open the door and you will find a meticulously restored interior in Red and Beige. The door panel has a beige vinyl panel that holds the chrome power window switches, door handle and vent window crank. The armrest sits in a red panel with horizontal pleats and beige trims out the bottom. The split bench seat is power operated and has pleated red seating surfaces with beige dressing out the top and sides. A three-spoke steering wheel is a work of art in red with a full circle chromed horn ring and a blue and gold badge in the red center. Behind it is the column shifter for the manual transmission and a symmetrical double hump dashboard. The driver gets the speedometer with the fuel and temp gauges of course, while controls and the AM radio are set into the chrome panel that runs across the center, and the passenger gets Bel Air in gold along with a clock in their dash pod. Red carpeting with red vinyl floormats finish the look off nicely. Open the hood and you will find a fully restored and completely stock 265 cubic inch V8 nestled down in a meticulously detailed out engine bay. This engine was first offered in the 55 models and this one is believed to be the original one that the car was delivered with. It was groundbreaking at the time with its overhead valve, high compression, short stroke design. A glossy black air filter tops the motor with the proper Chevy Orange coating all the engine iron. Chevrolet lettering on the valve covers is highlighted in black and all the belts and hoses as well as the generator and power steering pump are new. Power flows back through a 3-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels mounted on leaf springs. This was a frame off restoration so everything on the chassis has been properly and meticulously cleaned, painted, repaired or replaced as part of the process. The rubber meets the road through 6.70-15 wide white wall tires mounted on steel wheels with wire wheel covers. This is a very special car. It is automotive history properly restored and preserved for the enjoyment of its next owner. Will that be you? Come on down and check it out. We think you will be impressed.... Read more

The Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is at top of every bow tie fans wish list, but not all are created equal. After all, only when your build spared no expense would the result be something as awesome as this. And were not just talking about a beautiful body. With the modern fuel-injected V8, upgraded suspension, custom A/C interior, and much more, this is the ultimate one-of-a-kind dream machine up for grabs. If you want the ultimate level of desirability, it helps to start here. After all, the Nomad was the most expensive and rarest Bel Air model in 1955 (we already consider the convertible version to be very rare, and Chevy sold nearly seven times more than the Nomad!) So its history is secured. But this one is a king among kings. It was given a full frame-off rotisserie restoration that took four years to complete. And since theres less than 1,700 miles on this since completion, it retains the unmistakable look of an investment that rivals what other people pay for comfortable homes. You know they took the time to get everything right. The beautiful Regal Turquoise and India Ivory not only have a deep luster, but also there was a pearlescent overlay to ensure that you get even more radiance in the sunshine. Speaking of brilliance, we suspect there was as much invested in the bright work as most people do for an entire car. Thats why the wide grille is shining, the tailgate slats are so crisp, and car show spectators will use the mirror-like bumpers to check their hair. All the Nomad-specific details you love are correct from the bright trim line that wraps around the headlights, to the iconic wraparound rear glass. And the addition of LED lighting and 18-inch Foose wheels let everyone know this restoration went way beyond stock. You can win awards for the interior all on its own, and thats because nearly $30k was invested just to get the upholstery custom made in Italian leather. Everyone gets these amazingly comfortable bucket seats, even in the rear. Plus, yours power adjusts to the ideal position. This beautiful material is coordinating on the all the side panels to give it a uniform appearance that everyone loves to see at the shows. As the name suggests, the Nomads are meant to cruise the open road. So this one has great features to keep everyone comfortable, including a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo, cup holder center console, power windows, LED lighting, and ice-cold air conditioning. But like any good custom classic, the best treats are reserved for the driver. You get a stylish sports steering wheel mounted on an Ididit tilt column. Plus, you stay completely informed on everything thats going on with your classic thanks to the upgraded full Classic Instruments readouts that fit in the factory fan-style panel. While all you have to do is park this Nomad for the crowds to fall in love/lust with it, we also know you wont be able to resist lifting the hood. This Chevys engine bay is filled with a legendary motor, but one much younger than most people will be expecting. This is a 5.7-liter fuel-injected LS1 crate motor the V8 that ushered in the modern era of GM performance. They have done an excellent job of making this Nomad look like it had Corvette power since day one with the engine covers, intake, and much more painted to match the exterior and fender walls. The only other color in this engine bay besides the turquoise is chrome thanks to the big investment in polished components. And more than just look amazing, this crate motor was built with the best driving features. It includes a Griffin Crossflow radiator to help keep it running cool (even in traffic), a Street Performance serpentine belt system, and ceramic coated headers that feed the sweet-sounding dual exhaust. Make sure you follow the path of that rumble in the undercarriage photos. Not only does it showcase the level of color coordination and quality of this frame-off restoration, but also youll spot some terrific suspension upgrades. For example, the front end is a modern piece with Heidts components, including 2-inch drop spindles, tubular upper & lower A-arms, and adjustable coil-overs. And this is the ultimate cruiser with power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, modern performance tires, and a four-speed automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive. There is a huge photo file documenting the nut-n-bolt restoration. This amazing classic represents over $180k in investments, so you know we dont have the room to tell you about all the upgrades here. But give us a call, and well be happy to go over the full list that makes this Nomad the ultimate restomod dream machine. Call now!... Read more

A very well-presented and authentic package makes this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible an instant crowd pleaser. This restored icon has a beautiful matching color scheme inside and out, and it has the right V8 power under the hood. So you know its exceptionally appealing even before you check out all the details. This is the first year for the iconic Tri-Five Chevys, so its important to get all the details right. Thats why this drop top has its factory-correct Neptune Green and Sea Mist Green two-tone. The level of shine that this Chevy radiates proves there was a nice investment in a professional respray. But it takes more than just nice paint to be a Chevy worthy of everyones attention. All the bright work looks like it has been expertly maintained to make sure that the jet-inspired hood ornament boldly leads the way. The panels line up so well that the side trim continues uninterrupted through the doors. Even the upgrades are true to the classic form with fenders skirts and California bumper. This is a truly great 55-correct presentation right down to the details, like the two-piece wheels with whitewall tires and Chevy bow ties within the hubcaps. While the white folding roof looks terrific in place, with just the flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal an even more impressive interior. After all, the two-tone green looks fantastically well-coordinated so that you will really wow people whenever you open up this Bel Air to the world. Plus, you can tell the restoration focused on making sure everything you love about these icons is still in place. This includes the fan-style gauge cluster and dual-cowl style dash that resembles the Corvettes of the era. Even the factory style AM radio is still cranking out tunes! This one is so authentic, youll even be showing off the original-style spare and mat in the trunk. Part of what makes these cars a legend is that 1955 was the first production year for the small block V8. The only optional eight-cylinder in this inaugural year was the 265 cubic-inch motor, and so when you open the hood, its great to see this now-legendary V8 looking so accurate. In fact, this is an authentic 1955 block! While the excellent presentation of the bold orange paint and all the correct components will have people impressed at the shows, this one is built to be enjoyed on the road, too. Thats why you have a Powerglide automatic transmission and modern treads surrounding your classic whitewall tires. When an iconic drop top looks this good and was restored to be so authentic, you know you need to hurry to grab this deal. Call now!... Read more

Why This Car Is Special This is a nut and bolt restoration that is phenomenal from top to bottom. Check out the photos of the underside to see the quality of the build. This is a real VC VIN, meaning it is an original V8 Bel Air from the factory. Mechanical This Tri-Five beauty has a freshly rebuilt 350 V8 with a freshly rebuilt 700R4 automatic transmission, making this a great cruiser. The engine is mildly built with a Comp Cams camshaft, Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake with Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, HEI and electric fuel pump. A Griffin aluminum radiator keeps this SBC nice and cool with the help of dual electric fans. An Optima Red Top battery has been installed along with Vintage Air. The 700R4 is a cruisers transmission that will handle highway speeds with ease. It is connected to a 12-bolt rear end with 3.30 gears. The power steering is nice and tight with a CPP 500 steering box. The power disc brakes have upgraded drilled and slotted rotors providing plenty of stopping power. Tubular A-arms up front look and function better than stock. Ceramic coated headers run to true dual exhaust with an H-pipe and a mild street rod sound. This car isnt all go and no show. It has polished and chrome pieces everywhere you look under the hood, including: brackets, pullies, A/C compressor, alternator, valve covers and air cleaner. Interior The interior is restored to stock convertible style cloth and vinyl upholstery with seat belts and an Ididit tilt steering column. A modern AM/FM radio fits the factory holes and sounds great. Vintage Air controls are nicely added to the dash and dont detract from the original styling. Extra AutoMeter gauges have been tastefully added under the dash to keep an eye on the engine. Exterior Original 1955 colors of Gypsy Red and Shoreline Beige have been used during the restoration and go great with the rally wheels with knockoffs. LED taillights and LED 3rd brake light were added for safety. Nice chrome exhaust tips just peek out past the bumper to let a discerning eye know this car is not stock. Conclusion They dont come much nicer than this. This is a great combination of 50s looks with todays creature comforts. So, please call or text at 734-323-9260 or 727-688-1148. We also finance! Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this good looking 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door post. 55 Chevys will always have a warm spot in this boy s heart. The Drag race scene in American Graffiti began the yearn for one of these classics. Imagine being 16 years old and trying to persuade your Mom to let you buy one with a V8 and a 4-speed manual. 40 years later and still waiting to get my 1st 55 Chevy. Anyways, this Bel Air has 87287 actual miles on the body and frame per the current owner. The drivetrain has way less mileage with only 8000 since the rebuild. The body and frame were separated in 2012, painted then reassembled. At this time the engine was upgraded to a 383 Stroker Chevy small block V8 and mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission. The combo gives good reliable power, the Bel Air will now cruise at 70 mph and only turn 2100 rpm on the tach. The exterior of Teal Blue goes well with the gray cloth interior. Ofcourse the best thing about this interior is the swivel captain seat allowing the driver to swing it around and jump right out of the drivers door. Finishing off the exterior look is a nice set of Boyd Coddington 5 spoke aluminum wheels. If you always wanted a 55 Chevy Bel Air since childhood, call now before this decides to finally get one. Options for 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door post include; AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, Cloth Interior, Aluminum Alloy shod with Radial Tires. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this unbelievably custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. The 55 Chevy Bel-Air is arguably one of the best-looking cars ever built. There clean lines and finless design make them great candidates for full on custom builds. Art Morrison started out building frames for tubbed out drag cars in the 70 s and 80 s but the company really took off when he began building his line of pro-touring chassis . This 55 is sitting on one of his custom-built frames which not only looks good but increases the handling of the car dramatically. Finished off in the same Erica red paint as the body making the transition from floor pan to frame almost seamless. With touches of chrome here and there to break it up you can tell this was a well thought out build. The stance of the car was also dramatically changed due to the chassis as well with it sitting much lower than a stock 55. The wheels will be the next thing you notice with the set consisting of 18 s in the front and 20 s in the back giving the car that aggressive look. Behind those wheels are a set of chrome plated calipers that blend nicely while the cross-drilled and slotted rotors show people you mean business. Under that silky-smooth hood is was most consider the Mecca of LS powerplants. This LS7 has been built with a mild cam giving it a nice lope at idle but the real work is in the details. The intake has been painted to match with the custom firewall being cleaned up which flows into the custom inner fender wells. A custom piece of metal was formed to cover up the radiator as well making this engine bay look seamless like the rest of the car. Putting power to the road is a built 4l60 transmission giving you the capability to drive this beauty down the freeway comfortably at highway speeds. Inside the custom touches are extensive with the dash being made from one piece of metal as well. The gauges and AC vents are molded into that custom dash as well keeping with that flowing design. The leather wrapped seats are extremely comfortable while the Lokar shifter sits perfectly in the custom-made console. With this car being a fresh build and never shown to the public this beauty is guaranteed to collect a whole room of trophies or do what this car was intended to do Drive It! Options on this 1955 Custom Chevrolet Bel Air include, AC, AM/FM, Power Windows, Power Steering, Leather Interior, Seat Belts, and Aluminum Wheels with Radial Tires. Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is happy to have this incredible 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air listed for sale. Modifying any Tri-Five Chevy is sure to upset some purists, but its hard to find any faults with the work done to this beauty. Having undergone a complete frame-off restoration, the heart of this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a supercharged 454 CID V8. This 1990 marine high-performance big block engine was line honed, decked and balanced, and it was extensively upgraded with J-E Pistons, Speed Pro Plasma-Moly Rings, Eagle Rods, Comp Cams Pure Energy Camshaft, Comp Cams Magnum Roller Rocker Arms, Crane Roller Lifters and an MSD ignition system including high torque starter, distributor, coil and cap. This engine mates to a TH400 Turbo 400 with Gear Vendor Under/Over drive, a TCI 2500 Stall Converter and a Hurst shifter. This power is sent to the rear wheel through a nine-inch Ford rear end that has been shortened by eight inches for the mini tubs, and overall performance and handling has been optimized with tubular steel A-arms, Hotchkiss dropped spindles and four-wheel disc brakes. And thats just the performance side of this car. The body is straight and was given a rich, custom black-over-burgundy paint job with beautiful chrome and 15-inch Center Line wheels. To maintain the stock look of this car, the blown big block is mounted 6.5 inches lower and moved back a full eight inches to accommodate the blower without requiring any changes to the hood. Even the inside received a custom touch replacing the standard 55 interior with a leather-wrapped cabin out of a 1967 Cadillac Eldorado. Options on this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air include air conditioning, AM/FM radio, cassette, power brakes, power steering, power seats, tilt steering wheel, seat belts, leather interior, aluminum alloy wheels and radial tires.
