This is a fresh partial restoration of a relatively RARE 1951 Studebaker Commander two door hard top. The exterior and chassis restorations are fantastic. It is equipped with a V8 motor, "three on three" manual transmission, and factory AM radio. It is a 'Numbers matching" vehicle indicating it has the original drivetrain.Freshly applied correct gray finish is uniform in color and texture with beautiful GLOSS. Chrome plated components e.g. door handles, front and rear trim, and front and rear bumpers are like NEW. The grille is also replated, is BRIGHT and SHINY. Windshield and all body moldings are straight and highly polished, no scratches. Chromed scripts such as "Studebaker" and "Champion" are beautifully restored. The glass is very good, no scratches, cloudiness or deterioration. The engine compartment, including the hood, underside, inner fenders, firewall, and core support is restored. Hose, clamps, fan belt, and some wiring components are non-original style aftermarket replacements. The trunk compartment and trunk lid underside are fully restored and refinished.The frame and painted steering, suspension, differential, brake components, etc. are restored in excellent condition. No leaks or seepage. The lighting system (headlights, parking lights, taillights, turn signals, and brake lights are in working order as are instruments, gauges, wipers, horn, etc.Tires are non-original style Road King size P215x75R15 narrow whitewalls mounted on correctly painted factort steel wheels with correct hubcaps, all in excellent condition.The interior has not been restored. The original front and rear seat coverings are intact but worn. The instruments are legible, lenses are clear, but dull. Interior chromed components are oxidized.NOTE: Although the vehicle title shows this shows this car is a 1951, a twodoor hardtop model was not available until 1952 and named Commander Starliner. The vehicle's front and rear end designs are also those of a 1952 Studebaker. Therefore, it is probable that this vehicle is actually a 1952 Studebaker Commander Starliner that may have been sold during the late 1951 introduction period and inadvertently titled as a 1951 or mis-titled as some later point.
