This 1951 Ford Custom two-door sedan hits that perfect balance of a cherished classic with its pastel/chrome exterior, and its also the bad boy with a tuned V8 lurking in the engine bay. This makes for a total package that is as easy to love as a comfortable cruiser or your incognito hot rod. Today we would call any two-door car like this a coupe, but Ford called it a sedan in 1951. You can instantly see why in its profile with the large rear roll down windows. The benefit of a bodystyle like this not only gives the rear passengers more room, but you also get to educate a few people at the car shows as they search for the rear door handle. Like any good 1950s car, theres plenty of chrome on the bumpers and on the highly stylized grille. And this one really has extra elegance in its details. Those dual bullet-nose elements leading the way, fender skirts, taillights that integrate into bright trim, and full-length side trim that seamlessly wraps around the rear its all part of a stunning package. You can see it all so well because of a quality respray of Sea Island Green that happened later in life. The car was also lowered 2 so you have a tasteful, custom look, that adds to the overall presentation. The interior was given a nice restoration that looks terrific while still respecting the Fords vintage roots. For example, the seats were reupholstered, but they follow a correct stripe and button-top pattern. These seats coordinate with the door panels and dash to create a great uniform total feeling. The atmosphere is absolutely like an authentic time capsule, but if you look closely, you can spot some worthwhile upgrades. For example, the steering wheel was upgraded to a Limeworks Cresliner, at the tune of $1000 (the original comes with the sale) and the radio is an AM/FM unit for better cruising tunes. Under the hood is a terrific presentation. After all, if youre a Ford fan, its hard to beat the dual pipes diving into the famous flathead V8. But you can also tell from this show-worthy presentation that there have been some nice investments here. It now includes an Isky cam, Offenhauser finned heads (originals included), Fenton Headers an alternator (8 volts), electronic ignition, electric fuel pump, and much more (call for all the details.) Plus, its topped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. So you have extra power that also helps give the dual exhaust a sweet tone. You are in complete control of it all thanks to the column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. And all of this completed in 2012, verified by receipts. This classic has a full history that includes a long-term first owner and his son performing a quality restoration. The sale also comes with title documentation, owners manual, build receipts, maintenance records, a new car cover, and a bunch of original components. Its a distinct and iconic Ford with a story to tell. So dont miss your chance at this exceptional classic, call today!
This 1951 Ford Custom two-door sedan is that perfect mix of vintage appeal with extra flair added in. So if you love flathead V8 power and a head-turning personality, then this is the obtainable classic you need to read all about. For the brief three years this design was available, the 1951 version is the final and often most sough-after. Thats because of the bright work. Up front they doubled that amount of bullet-nosed boldness, and the cool wraparound taillight/tailfin was even longer. Speaking of wraparound, the bright side trim still retained the full-length sweeping effect, but now it followed the bodywork all the way around the rear. And this one has all the best classic style, right down to the factory wheel covers and whitewall tires. But what really attracts you to this is the paint. The satin red is a new and professional application, and in fact, the workshop shop owner is the one who had this vehicle. The matte finish gives this 51 Ford a hot-rod style attitude without being too outlandish - exactly why you want in an approachable classic. The exterior is fresh without losing its vintage appeal, and that same attitude is carried over into the interior. You can tell there was a nice investment in the tan seats, carpeting, and dash. Even the trunk has been thoughtfully updated. These two-door sedans have a nice profile on the outside while still offering a large back seat and rear vent windows, so it makes for a fine classic to invite others along for the ride. The big steering wheel feels great in your hands, and beyond that everything looks correct from the large speedometer to the AM radio thats still on display. The glowing golden block of the 239 cubic-inch flathead is something we all love to see at car shows. Youll get an extra kick out of telling people that the date code on the block is period-correct. Plus, everything looks accurate from the dual 90-degree radiator hoses to the big oil bath air cleaner. The correct single exhaust gives a nice hum, and the column-mounted three-speed manual transmission adds to the era 50s-style fun. All the right upgrades without jeopardizing the old-school fun. This 51 has a lot to offer for such an obtainable price. So dont miss out, call today!

1951 Ford Custom Convertible A barn find is a classic car, aircraft or motorcycle that has been rediscovered after being stored, often in derelict condition. The term comes from their tendency to be found in places such as barns, sheds, carports and outbuildings where they have been stored for many years. The term usually applies to vehicles that are rare and valuable, and which are consequently of great interest to collectors and enthusiasts despite their poor condition. In the past, barn-find vehicles were typically subjected to exhaustive restoration, to return them to a condition close to that when they were built. However, the current trend is to treat the cars more sympathetically, to avoid restoration that removes evidence of the cars history and to place greater value on any original features the car retains The definition of Barn Find is here for consignment in this 51 Custom. In addition to a menagerie of boxes with various parts, there is the actual car which seemingly has undergone some restoration, but overall needs attention. Exterior Panels show a nice patina with the paint being dulled, and seemingly upon closer inspection plenty of filler used on the underside of some of these panels. All the chrome and brite work is there and shows rusting, denting, and loss of shine in areas, but its there. A convertible top is a bit ragged, however framework appears stable. Interior All original and all rough (dirty) interior, will need restoration. Seats are useable, and appear original to this car, and are presented as a front split bench, and a rear bench with 2 tone vinyl. Carpeting is nonexistent, and above is the original dash which needs restoration, as does the original steering wheel. Drivetrain A V8 of unknown size with some new bolted on parts which include a distributor and wires, a new generator, new belts, new hoses, and possibly a rebuilt carburetor. The engine does run, a tad rough, but it could be old gas. Undercarriage Plenty of surface rust is there however any real rust through has been remediated. A test drive reveals the master cylinder needs attention. Initially one may think that this car is a total loss, however, all is not lost, upon closer inspection with a mechanical once over, a sandabale primer, some block sanding, then a spray of fresh paint, and you will be able to go to cruise night, and certainly turn heads!

1951 Ford Custom After WWII the first new automobile design produced was the classic shoebox Ford. The integrated fenders and boxed design paved the way for the look of vehicles that would soon come throughout the 50s. They proved to be popular as well outselling Chevrolets by 10% in 1951. This great looking shoebox is considered a custom model and has a lot going for it. It has a really nice look and just had over $10,000 invested to make sure it was road worthy. This includes a ton of new components throughout that is all documented with a stack of receipts that will come with the car. The body is in great shape and all rust free. It is coated in a nice Green metallic paint that has a nice shine and really looks good out in the sun. All of the original chrome and stainless pieces are there and looking good except for the rear window frame but that does come with the car. It has the factory rear fender skirts and front visor which really give it that vintage 50s look. The car is very solid and totally rust/bondo free. We have gone over the car with a magnet and closely inspected the undercarriage. It isnt uncommon to see a few little rust spots on a car this age but we were actually surprised by how solid the floors and everything is. The wheels look great and the 4 bar spinner hubcaps are brand new. The wide white wall Coker radial tires (P205/75R15) were just installed and are part of the large list of improvements made to the car in 2018. The motor is the factory flathead V8 that runs well. It has that stock original look and starts up smoothly. A new super 7 carburetor was just added as well as all new exhaust. Paired with the engine is a 3 speed manual transmission with a brand new clutch and pressure plate. The front end has completely rebuilt including the drag link and the brakes were rebuilt as well including the wheel cylinders. Other recent changes include the all new shocks with 2 inch lowering coil springs up front and a new steering box. All of this work was professionally done and has resulted in a great driving and riding car. The interior of the car is finished out in the factory style beige/grey upholstery with green on the door panels. The carpet upholstery, and headliner were just completely redone. Since the carpet is brand new rubber mats were installed to in both front and rear compartments to keep it protected. The dash has a stock appearance and everything works. Many people dont notice until you point it out but on the rear deck lid the original trunk lock and handle have been removed. It helps to give it a nice clean look from the rear and the trunk is now opened by pulling a knob on the package tray inside the car. This is a really cool car and you just cant beat that price. Over $25,000 has been invested with $10,000 being put into it just this year. The owner needs to get the car gone so he is listing it knowing he is taking a loss. This is a good chance to get yourself in a nice running car with a ton of new components for much less than you would spend having it done yourself. This is cool shoebox Ford could be yours for the reduced price of only $15,900.00!
