View 60+ pictures and Bid on this vehicle at Bid.WheelerAuctionGroup.com Seller Description: Outstanding running and driving 1950 F-1. Clean and rust free, same collector owned for the past two decades, recently serviced and ready for a new caretaker. Original Flathead V8 and 3 speed transmission make this truck a joy to drive. Fresh oil change, carb rebuild, front brake job, and more. Ready to go! Showroom rivals to the GM Advanced Design trucks, Fords first all-new post-war vehicle (preceding the all-new 1949 Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln car lines) not only saw the start of future sales success, but also the start of an easily identifiable nameplate that has evolved into the F-series Ford uses today. Unveiled in January of 1948, Fords new postwar pickup line started off with the F-1 half-ton. Labels read F-2 for -ton trucks, F-3 for 1 tons and so on. Numbering ran all the way up to F-8 for the biggest rigs. Promotional people didnt call these machines Bonus Built for nothing. Ford reportedly spent $1 million to give buyers more truck for their money than ever before. Increasing driver and passenger friendliness was a main goal; the wider, taller Million Dollar Cab offered a living-room feel, and its improved seat delivered easy chair comfort. From 1948 through 1950, the F-Series trucks were all but cookie cutter identical, available either with a flathead V-8 or flathead inline six under the hood. Nearly as popular as the Advanced Design, but coming in second-place in overall sales when new, the Ford F-1 had been under most enthusiasts radar over the last few decades, playing second fiddle to the 1953-56 Effies for Ford fans. Not so of late as more and more have been surfacing on the collector market, and owners have dedicated serious time and money to high-quality restorations. Vehicle is located in Wisconsin, USA. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1950 Ford F1 Pickup for purchase. Launched in 1948, the legendary Ford F-series began as a replacement for the previous car based pickups. For the first time, Ford was building pickups on a dedicated truck platform creating a much better work horse than previously available. Classic trucks are gaining momentum in the collector auto markets. Fords 1st F-series generation lasted from the 1948-1952 model years, but significantly changed in appearance from year to year making each version unique and pretty rare. While trucks sold well, most were obviously used work heavy work loads leaving few surviving examples in excellent condition as survivors or customs. The 1950 F1 offered here is powered by a 283 v8 paired with an automatic transmission. The truck runs and handles well and goes down the road straight. Highlights include a Nova front end, new brakes, new tires, SunPro gauges along with factory gauges, AM/FM/Cassette player, vinyl tonneau cover and dual exhaust. This truck appears to be all steel and is well built. The early F series is a classic that is highly sought after. Dont miss your opportunity to own this affordable example.

We dont have to tell you this 1950 Ford F-1 is not your average pickup. After all, you can tell from the first impression that someone invested heavily in this one, and with less than 1,300 miles on it, the whole feeling is exceptionally fresh. But make sure you take the time to see all the detail including the fuel-injected Corvette power because this is the build thats worth your whole attention. From a distance, you can already tell this is a mean street machine just by the stance. And the body work is amazing. Just look at the front end. The bumper was removed, inches were chopped out of it (count the bars in the grille,) and then it was seamlessly welded together for a very custom and smooth presentation. Then you look at the cab. It has been chopped 2.5 inches and extended 4 inches. Plus, the bed was shortened. The result is a vintage truck that looks like a speedy wind has contoured it over the channeled frame. And the red paint that was applied on top has such a butter-smooth finish and a hard shine, that you cant even see any evidence of all the custom work they did to these panels. And this is a truck that has more to offer the more you look at it. Youll love the details, like the sporty Ford badge with pinstripe, sports mirrors, shaved door handles, and louvers in the hood and tailgate. And beneath the fiberglass bed cover, youll even find real oak wood on the bed floor. The full custom experience continues inside. The custom seat has individual bolstering with two-tone comfortable cloth. And any time you want bucket-level comfort, just put down the armrest center console. This one has all the best features, including an overhead console that houses the AM/FM/CD/stereo, door controls, and a nifty Dakota Digital gear shift indicator. That leaves plenty of room on the dash for the air conditioning vents, as well as great design touches like the return of the Ford logo and pinstripe package. So this one is built to be both comfortable and ready to show off. Thats why youll be happy to slip behind the banjo-style steering wheel with classic Ford V8 logo. The polished Ididit steering column tilts to get you comfortable, and the full classic instruments gauge package keeps you expertly informed. The engine bay proudly displays the LT1 fuel-injected V8 motor donated by a Corvette. Its car show ready with chrome valve covers, polished alternator, inner fender inserts, billet accessory drive, and plenty of bright plumbing. Plus, the firewall and has been smoothed and finished to the same high standards as the rest of the body. But more than just look great, the V8 was producing 300 horsepower originally, and the Street and Performance ECM with reprogrammed chip has likely added a healthy upgrade to the already impressive power figure. Thats why the whole truck has been upgraded. The undercarriage photos will show you the strong reinforced boxed frame, upgraded front suspension with thick front sway bar, TCI four-link rear, and adjustable coilovers. And just like a Corvette, this has four-wheel disc brakes. Plus, because we know you want to show off this custom build near and far, it has great driving features like power steering, cruise control, and a four-speed automatic transmission with highway friendly overdrive. The sale comes complete with a large receipt file and detailed restoration photos, so you can re-live this customs full transformation journey. This is a truck that looks great and drives even better. Its a Ford pickup that attracts a lot of attention, but the enthusiast who will enjoy it most is the one sitting behind the wheel.
