1946 Ford Super Deluxe This car is a older restoration. Runs and drives excellent. - New Coker Radial Tires- Nice InteriorCivilian production resumed in July 1945, with an early start to the 1946 model year filling the public's thirst for new cars. The 1946 Ford was identical to the 1942 model under the skin, though a heavy new grille with horizontal bars and red accents modernized the car somewhat. The hood was widened by adding a center strip. One notable change was to use the 239 CID engine which since 1939 had been used in Mercurys and trucks, and capable of 100 hp (75 kW) for the first time. With steel in short supply, Ford produced a distinctive "Sportsman" convertible with wood side panels, supplied from the Ford Iron Mountain Plant. The convertible had an electric top instead of manual one.

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is happy to list this unique 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible. This post war piece of American history is turn key and ready to be driven home. This is such a great car to have added to a collection of any size. The Orange paint is in driver quality condition that matches the wheels and carpet in this unique Ford. The automatic soft top isn t ripped up or have any major signs of wear. The interior has been redone to be in great shape and is a two-tone tan leather with light cream cloth. This scheme matches the wood on the dash and doors well that gives a luxury feel when driving this time machine. The 3 on the tree manual transmission is getting harder to find which makes this car rare and sought after by many collectors. The Ford Flat head engine is popular among the hotrod community and this car has one that runs strong. Brand new white wall tires wrap all four of the orange and chrome accented wheels. The style of this classic Ford is magnified by many details like the blue dot tail lights, FORD markings on the exhaust, and even the orange FORD that is painted on the rear bumper. All the chrome accent pieces on the body of this car really make it stand out in a crowd. This Ford still has the classic 6-volt electric system to keep its authenticity. The car has been redone and only shows 6,882 on the odometer. Do not let this beautiful piece of Ford history pass you by. For sale in our Chicago showroom is this classic 1946 Ford Super Deluxe. The 46 is a smooth body style with, at the time, a powerful V8. The flat head V8s have gained quite a following recently, and restorers hunt for them to use in the classics. While not known for being a powerhouse, they give a smooth power band with plenty of torque. This coupe is sporting one such example. Powered by a 221 cubic inch modified flat head V8 matched with a 3-speed column-shifted manual transmission, this is an authentic driver. The V8 produced near 60 horsepower when new, but thanks to some Offenhauser heads, an upgraded Comp camshaft, and a few other improvements, power has been bumped up to an estimated 75 horsepower. These upgrades and power boost make cruising with more modern cars easier. Fresh red paint has been laid over the original sheet metal giving a like-new appearance. A larger clutch has been installed giving better gripping power, as well as longer life expectancy, making for a more robust and reliable drive train. This slightly modified antique makes for a great cruiser and is sure to get you smiling. Inside the car youll find classic bench seats and the original dash to take you back in time. Options include: AM Radio, Hub Caps, and White Wall Tires. For more information on this 46 Ford Super Deluxe, contact our Chicago showroom at (708) 444-4488 or Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com. To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys Arizona event, 17 - 18 January 2019. Estimate:$80,000 - $110,000 Freshened highly original car Documented ownership historyAmerica s favorite woodieFord was the first U.S. automaker to resume production at the end of World War II. The assembly lines commenced operation on 3 July 1945, before hostilities had ceased completely in the Pacific. The company had the advantage of being authorized to restart civilian truck manufacture in April 1944. Still, it took time to reach satisfactory production levels, and the more complex styles like station wagons took even longer. The Iron Mountain plant had produced glider parts during the war, but had kept a stock of 1942 wagon parts on hand for the day that assembly could resume. Because engineering and development work had halted during the war, all 1946 Fords and Mercurys were very slightly restyled and re-trimmed versions of their 1942 counterparts. Most significant was the fact that all V-8 Fords now used the Mercury-derived 239-cu. in., 100-bhp engine. Slight changes from 1942 involved the ignition system and a new casting for the cylinder block, the latter taking its 59A designation from the Ford project code.Equipped with radio, heater, and electric clock, this 1946 Ford Super DeLuxe station wagon was formerly owned by James J. Angleton, a young officer in the Office of Strategic Services during World War II. Joining the Central Intelligence Agency after the War, he became Chief of Counterintelligence in 1954, serving until 1975. The car was kept at his vacation retreat in Superior, Wisconsin, for many years, stored carefully in a red brick garage. After Angleton s passing in 1987, it was discovered by the estate s caretaker. Highly original, it is finished in maroon with brown artificial leather upholstery. The car is in excellent condition throughout and has received restoration as required. A history of Mr. Angleton and a letter from a prior owner documenting its history are included with the car.To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/az19.

Gorgeous '46 Super Deluxe. Mustang-sourced 289 V8 and front clip. Power brakes and steering. Engine runs strong and smooth. No leaks or any other issues. Car is in excellent running condition. Excellent rubber. Fresh engine and transmission fluids.Interior completely redone, trunk also. Matching floor mats done too. Power driver\passenger side windows, all other windows are manual and operable. Only blemish is a small crack on the driver side window, but doesn't affect operation. When I got this car it was already finished. All I did was have the interior reupholstered. I'm not a classic car specialist, don't know all the little details of the engine, tranny or differential, all I know was that I bought it in excellent condition, and I babied her ever since. My health prevents me from driving her much anymore, and she's just sitting waiting for someone new to love her and take her out more often.Car is beautiful, no dents or rust and an excellent runner.Asking $16,500, no trades please.Thank you
1946 FORD SUPERDELUXE CONVERTIBLE, has been in our family for the last 31 years. Since the passing of our father in 2006, has barely been driven.Restored in the mid 1980's, the restoration has held up very well. Body shows no rust, burgundy paint shines, black convertible top with red piping has been replaced recently and has not been folded down, interior leather looks great.Local flat head expert has gone over the mechanics and done the maintanence. Still runs with the 6 volt positive ground electrics. This car needs to be driven and enjoyed.
This is a beautiful, professionally restored '46 Ford Super Deluxe convertible that runs and drives even better than it looks. You can take this car across town or across the country, safely, reliably, and with a ton of style. It won't leave you stranded every 4th time you drive it wondering "What now?" like many lesser built rods. It features a healthy 383 small block Chevrolet V8, aluminum and chrome everywhere, 3 speed automatic, Ford 9-inch rear, Heidt's rack and pinion front end, tubular A-arms, 4 corner adjustable coilovers, 4 wheel disc brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, power brakes, cold Vintage AC, working cruise control, and dual power seats. All features work well, including lights, wipers, horn, etc, so you won't be chasing annoying gremlins all the time, either. The car drives comfortably like a much newer vehicle given all of these modern upgrades. Cruise it at 75 mph all day long.Body and frame are super solid, with no rust or corrosion. Beautiful candy blue metallic paint draws constant attention everywhere it goes. All stainless, chrome, and glass are in great condition. Those who know what they are looking at will also realize the top has been chopped 2-3" to give it a more aggressive and pleasing stance. It rides on 15" chrome Torque Thrusts with Firestone Firehawk 275s and 215s back to front. No the tires do not rub!Inside, gray leather covers all the seats and door panels, and the dash is simply a work of art, with a full complement of gauges (and yes, all of those work, too). A leather banjo stainless wheel completes the look, and the manual top is a peppery gray cloth with rear glass window. Please search for yourself (as I did), but prices for the 46 to 48 Super Deluxe convertibles range from $27k for mediocre originals to $169k for the most over-the-top builds. With all that this car has to offer in terms of looks, build quality, upgrades, and functionality, it still sits near the bottom of that range in price, so please keep that in mind. No it is not quite perfect, with only minor nitpicks here or there, just like any custom build has, no matter how much is spent. But at this price you'll have nothing to complain about.Asking $43,500 obo.ALL TEXTS WILL BE IGNORED due to spammers.
