The Ford Model T known as the Tin Lizzie is an automobile produced by the Ford Motor Company from October 1, 1908, to May 26, 1927. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile. It was also known as the car that opened travel to the common middle-class American. Some of this was because of Ford s efficient fabrication, including assembly line production instead of individual hand crafting. This particular vehicle has had the hand crafting added to it through the amazing woodwork. It may not be loaded with features like today s modern cars, but it is loaded with history and the automotive beginning that captures where we ve come from in the evolution of the automobile. And the beauty of this is how great it looks and runs. Come in and see it for yourself today. Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is excited to have this 1926 Ford Model T listed for sale. This complete frame up rebuild is turn key and ready to be enjoyed. This awesome Ford has been owned by the same owner for 30 years and claimed to be a 2-owner truck. After 90 years this original numbers matching engine and transmission are still trucking along. All new Ford parts have been installed on this truck with the exception of the frame, running gear, motor, transmission, wheels, and cab. The truck has recently been repainted black by Larry Hill and has been reassembled with mechanical work done by Charles Rosato. The black paint is matched with black leather interior, a black soft vinyl material, and black wheels. The style in the appearance is topped off by the wood bed and wooden steering wheel. This truck is perfect for someone who wants to own a piece of Ford history or even a beginner into the car show hobby. The fun part of the early automobile is the ability to manually adjust the timing and throttle right from the steering wheel. This truck is a manual controlled by the farthest left petal on the driver side floor board. The Model T was a rear-wheel drive vehicle. Its transmission was a planetary gear type billed as three speed. In todays terms it would be considered a two-speed, because one of the three speeds was reverse. The Model T had a front-mounted 177-cubic-inch (2.9 L) inline four-cylinder engine, producing 20 hp (15 kW), for a top speed of 40 45 mph (64 72 km/h).23 According to Ford Motor Company, the Model T had fuel economy on the order of 13 21 mpg US (16 25 mpg imp; 18 11 L/100 km).24 The engine was capable of running on gasoline, kerosene, or ethanol,2526 although the decreasing cost of gasoline and the later introduction of Prohibition made ethanol an impractical fuel for most users. The engines of the first 2,447 units were cooled with water pumps; the engines of unit 2,448 and onward, with a few exceptions prior to around unit 2,500, were cooled by thermosiphon action. This truck has been rebuilt from the frame up and is ready to be cruised through the streets of your home town! Don t miss out on a Model T truck that s redone as nice as this one. Now for sale in our Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom is this extremely cool 1926 Ford Model T. Between the extensive powertrain work and original sheet metal, this car is a clean example of a Model T. Under the hood of this American icon is a 2.9-liter inline four-cylinder engine that was good for roughly 20 horsepower when new. The engine is paired to a 2-speed planetary gear transmission and great for small town cruising. The engine and transmission were both rebuilt roughly 2,000 miles ago so there are plenty of miles left in the old beauty. The power that screams from this car is driven through the Ruxtell 2-speed rear axle and is stopped by the Rocky Mountain brakes. You may not compete against the Camaros, and Mustangs on the road but this very well may be one of the quicker Model T s I ve seen. Moving inward, the interior of this car is barren with no modern amenities or luxuries. When this car was produced, it was meant to be a cheap means of transportation for the masses with little to no focus on comfort or styling. The condition of the interior on this T is very good, and is no doubt aided in staying that way, because the car comes with with 100% accurate side curtains and tonneau cover. The exterior of this T is finished in black and green to keep a clean classic look. The paint is in very good condition and highlights the cars curves and style. Laying beneath the paint is the original sheet metal from when the car was new almost 100 years ago. Overall the condition of this T is very nice, and this would make an excellent weekend toy or parade car! For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1926 Ford T-Bucket Roadster. This one has received some very special attention for our very special troops that put their lives on the line for our freedom. The Blazing Black metallic paint looks great. Making it better, the custom air brushed patriotic tribute to our troops. And theres more than just the air brushing. The engine bay has red, white and blue LED lights, the license plate surround also has LED lights and within the original license plate area (new license plate bracket beneath the rear) also has a cut out of a soldier taking a knee for a fallen soldier. The airbrushing on the sides is of a fallen soldier with Red, White and Blue American Flag angel wings. One more detail is the gauges cluster. It also features the Red, White and Blue American flag wings that fit quite well with the gauges. The mechanicals of the T Bucket include a built 355 with a Tunnel Ram intake topped with dual Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetors. Power is sent through a TH 350 automatic transmission and back to a Ford 9 inch rear with 3.50:1 rear gears. Plenty enough go for this lightweight! Occasionally, youll need to slow down and Wilwood disc brakes with braided lines on all four corners make that easy. Up front is a set of inboard chrome shock absorbers and adjustable coil overs in the back. The body is a custom 1/4 fiberglass body from Olsie Street Rods in Pryor, OK. This one has more leg room than the typical T Bucket and an operable passenger door making entry and exit much easier. This is a 7 year build and has covered an estimated 5,000 miles. For more information on this 1926 Ford T Bucket, call our St. Louis showroom at 618-271-3000. To view 100+ HD photos and video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com.

Ford Model T Depot Hack Background: Henry Ford continued to produce Americas affordable Model T at a rapid pace into the 1920s, averaging over 1 million units each year! The simplicity of the design, along with nine model choices to choose from, made Ford an easy choice for budget conscience buyers. They consisted of an inline four cylinder L-head engine producing an estimated 20 horsepower, two-speed planetary transmission, solid front axle with transverse semi-elliptic leaf spring, live rear axle with transverse semi-elliptic leaf spring on a 100 wheelbase, and two-wheel mechanical rear drum brakes. This Ford Model T Depot Hack was painstakingly restored while in the hands of a longtime Ohio owner, who started by stripping this example down to its foundation and starting from scratch! This included a complete media blasting of the chassis and fully repainting it. The engine and driveline components all fully rebuilt, including the brakes. The metal body components are all straight, rust free steel originals that were painted in red oxide before being covered in Henry Fords favorite color. The body itself was all hand-crafted in oak with expert precision and stunning results! The ribbed roof is nicely covered in vinyl and make for a perfect canopy for using in parades, special interest business displays, or hauling the grandkids around the neighborhood! Should weather protection be necessary, the side curtains are ready at a moments notice to conceal your cargo! It continues to start and run quite well and we invite buyers looking for interesting pieces for their collections to call with offers. Included with this example is a full photo album documenting the restoration completed approximately30 years ago (1989)! Yes, thats right. It continues to look outstanding after all these years! Always garaged and used sparingly each year. Chances to find Model Ts finished to this caliber do not come around very often!
